today I was experiencing a terrible feeling.
when I was nine, I was diagnosed with synovitis. it was a grueling couple of weeks of hospital stays, many nasty needles and tests and finally a big fat shot of steroids to ease things up a little.
so every now and then, I get a bit of inflammation, and it stiffens my joints to no end, and its really quite painful. I haven't had too much of an issue until today, when my knees starting getting progressively worse.
I was already experiencing back pain, cramps, and severe mood swings. Then my knees starting hurting as well, and painkillers weren't helping. I was moody, crying, stiff and generally just very, very upset.
Luckily though, my hero came through.
I was treated to an extra, extra hot bath. Which definitely felt amazing. Helped ease my back pain and the pain in my joints. I leaned over the edge of the tub and soaked for a bit.
Then Josh came in, with a bag of peanut M&Ms and sat down to keep me company. Charlie ran in and out of the bathroom, and whined for some chocolate. Since he wasn't allowed to have any, Josh grabbed a couple of grapes and when Charlie came in and reached for the chocolate, he'd get handed a grape. Then he'd pop it into his mouth and leave, satisfied.
so my boyfriend fed me chocolate, while keeping my son occupied with fruit, while I enjoyed a nice soak in a hot, hot bath.
I don't think I've ever felt this relaxed, and more grateful to have such a thoughtful person in my life.
now, a cuppa tea, a movie then bed time.
