Well, I labored for six and a half hours. That's enough for me today. I could do more, and probably should, but won't. Being on salary sucks. Having a work laptop that you take home with you sucks even more. Being expected to use said work laptop on your day off just sucks in major ways that are beyond description.
I should be doing something productive. I just haven't decided what falls into the productive bucket as of yet. I should be outside as it's a wonderful day out with beautiful weather. A bit hot, but hot beats cold in my book.
I just hung up on someone doing marketing research. I assume that they have to labor today as well, but I don't have to listen to their scripted bullshit, so hanging up was the only decision to make. Will I lose sleep over being so mean about it? Not in the least. I actually slept good last night, and for almost eight hours. No wonder why I feel so hyper at the moment. I was going to stay up and watch some movies last night but I was just too tired. Maybe tonight. I was going to read for a bit when I got into bed last night but that was an an exercise in futility, as once I laid down I could barely keep my eyes open. I keep looking at my work laptop, and thinking to myself, maybe just one more hour and then I'll feel better. I know better! I could spend 16 hours at it and I'd still be clamoring to do more. I can blame my father for that; he's the workaholic in the family and I inherited his proclivity for work. Now my brother (older), he's a lazy fucker. I can safely say that. LAZY FUCKER!!! (emphasis added). But he doesn't have to worry about where his next meal comes from. He stands to inherit the family business, so he'll be set for life, or when he runs it into the ground, whichever comes first. Plus he still lives at home. HEY YOU LAZY FUCKER! YOU'RE 32 YEARS OLD. GO OUT AND GET YOUR OWN APARTMENT!!! I don't hate him or anything, don't get me wrong. It's just that his total lack of ambition just pisses me off royally. He's smart as shit, and always did well in school, at least up through high school. Once he graduated, that was it. Like a fucking vegetable now. AND NO, YOU CAN'T COME FUCKING LIVE WITH ME!!! He did ask me that a couple of years ago. No was the answer then and no is still the answer. He hasn't asked me since. Hallelujah to that!
I have hope for my younger brother. He just started his sophomore year at university. His grades were pretty good last semester, so I think he'll make something of himself. Not like some other lazy fucker we both know. At least he's away from his brother's bad influence. I think I'll invite him to stay with me next summer so that he'll have less of a chance to get corrupted by our older brother. I may just have to do that.
