Tonight has been a horrible night.
I've seen rangerphiles. I've seen a dog fucker. I've seen a lot of things that, by all rights a human being has no business seeing. I'm shaken more than a man should be.
But then, out of my own flagrant stupidity, I glanced at this;
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WMcl1oXgLX4&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WMcl1oXgLX4&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
No, I cannot comment on her blog. And I can't help but look at the pandering responses from people who are quick to jump on another person for completely arbitrary reasons. I know I am going to come off as a class A asshole, but I am cool hand luke with that. I will also point to the end of her blog, stating "[...]this is a really stupid vlog, and I'm aware of that " as being acceptable grounds of which to launch into a bile filled tirade.
Seriously. What the fuck is this? No. I am being serious as a heart attack. I am starting to see a cultural divide occur between children born in the nineties and those that lived during it, where cellular phones and widespread internet use was not exactly out there. I am noticing the beginning trend between that alternative hipster crowd that was making their bones from 97 to about 01.
Yes, technology is here to stay, and while it has helped create a generation of social invalids who have a world wide stage to showcase their vapidness (and get a pass because they either look really hot or are semi-attractive females in a sausage party community) compared to what originally was relegated to the school system. We've become so attuned to gloss and instant gratification as an offshoot from the bastard baby boomer generation that the arbitrary is all too concrete, and realistic problems become a thing of the past.
The internet is said to bring people together, but in reality, it is merely personalities out there in an on demand world. We are islands onto ourselves. Our self importance has sky rocketed because of product placement and a generation of parents who wanted to celebrate the love of the game than the actual workmanship which goes with victory and defeat.
Text messaging. Are we serious? Times of crisis and it becomes a situation where someone needs to grow up and respond to a text message about going to see a Harry Potter movie? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! What sort of bubble life must one lead when the ends justify their means because of someone not texting you back? When people publish their lives for others to consume, we learn more about them. And what they say, and the actions they showcase dictate a reality of who that person is. I do not need to be her friend or follow some arbitrary line of horse shit to walk a mile in her shoes to understand how she feels. People are too weak in constitution to deal with even the right for aggressive vocal dissent in this country because we are all about happy vibes and self indulgent behavior.
Of special note is the beginning, which involves the instantaneous displacement of blame. A generational cry; "it's not my fault". Actually? It is your fault. If you are that interested in him, perhaps a call is in order. On YOUR part. Or perhaps a sliver of understanding on what it is like to deal with a family crisis. And all you folks having her back are enabling the kind of thought that makes the problems of others unimportant when they hinder us poor little babies.
A bullet gets put in your mother's brain pan, and she goes out closed casket. You going to be fumbling with the digits on a fucking luxury and put your life on pause or are you going to continue on as indifferent as ever?
But I know the score. It's going to be "oh that mean meangry!" or "he doesn't even know her!" The fact is, I know her more than you do because I'm not going to butter her up in hopes that I am the one to pop her cherry.
I said it, and I mean it.
