This is a model of a Sherman II. That was British and Commonwealth army talk for the American made M4A1. They started the practice of naming our tanks mostly of Civil War generals. The M4 series was named Sherman,after General Sherman. The Roman numeral II was for the M4A1. An M4 would have been called Sherman I.
