The reason I keep getting drawn back to the TMF over and over again isn't the images, or the video clips, or the artwork or stories.
It's the opportunity to converse with like minded people.
In my experiences, I've found that the ones who take the time putting up some sort of profile are the ones who I generally seem to connect with the most. To the point that now, if someone sends me a PM and doesn't have a profile, I often don't send a response, outside of "send me another message when you're ready to share more about yourself."
It's not that I'm a stickler for complete sentences or proper spelling - Well, I am, but I'll overlook that if needed. It has more to do, I think, with thinking ahead.
If you make a profile, you've already given some thought (ideally) to who you are and what you want from this place. That's a big deal. Even if it means we quickly discover we have little in common, its important to know those things ahead of time.
I dislike wasting time, or feeling like my time is being wasted, or feeling like I'm wasting others. If I can read your profile, or you can read mine (or this fancy blog), we can save lots of the initial conversation starters (ASL is never appealing) and move right on to true discussion.
Or am I wrong?
