Aw man, the owners of those ethnic restaurants are always the best part! I remember this one chinese dude at a place I used to haunt back home who had his own catchphrase he was trying to popularize: "You always know what to order!"

... I'm pretty sure my family and I were the only ones for whom that caught on. We throw it around at each other all the time. Gotta love the family inside jokes. Your fam got any?

One of the best things about living in Philadelphia now is just how much more diverse the culture is here: we've got Jamaican cuisine, authentic Thai, restaurants owned by people who literally just moved from Italy ... I'm guessing P-Burg is the same way, and I love it.

Last night I visited Chinatown, for example, coz today is the Chinese New Year. Come midnight, they had the streets blocked off and all these kids dancing in dragon costumes with this huge drum contingent while people lit off these loud-as-heck fireworks. It was awesome to witness cultural celebrations I had never seen before.

... and then the drunk white college kids kept screaming at the top of their lungs whenever ANYTHING would happen
