One day little Bobby's best friend asked his own not so religiously jaded father "Dad, who is God?"

"My, such a sudden question. Why do you ask, son?", said the father.

"Well, dad, Bobby said his father told him God doesn't care about us. Is that true?"

The not so religiously jaded father chuckled a bit and said

"We create our own problems, son. Blaming God for them doesn't help. He's not a magic genie in a bottle sent to clean up our messes.

He gives us the free will to make a better world ourselves, but we won't; He gives us His blessings, but we do not accept them; He gives us the way, but we are blind to it.

We don't want to learn from our mistakes or grow, and our arrogance has sealed our fates and mother nature herself has rebeled against us.

We pervert ourselves and our place in the universe and so reap what we sow here on Earth.

You see son, we don't know how to let God be God or how to learn from our mistakes or take responsibility for them. Until we can do both, this world is poorer for it and we create the evil in it and allow it to grow and thrive.

God has given the path, but He will not force it upon us.

There is always a cure, but we must WANT it.

Make the difference you can make son, and don't regret it. The difference is the one you make. Understand?

After hearing all of this, I'm so glad I don't follow any religion. Just do to others what you wish others to do to you, that's all. Spread the love, feel the heat, smell the roses. Why make life so complicated?

You don't need a religion to have an ideology, though. Be just as glad you don't fanatically defend communism or eugenics.
People do what they want to do and make up the answers later.
