Ok, fill in the blank...

NEVER tickle someone when they are _______

No doubt about this one. I don’t care who you are or how much I’d like you to get your hands on me in the proper venue, NEVER tickle anyone when they are STRETCHING. And especially if… (well, here’s the story)

Last week, there I was at the gym stretching (hamstrings) on an elevated stretching rail. I was completely in my zone, stretching deeper and deeper, at my max totally on the edge of discomfort. Suddenly, I feel fingers spider up my sides from behind me.

I’ve never had that happen as most people realize it's a really stupid thing to do. I actually felt something slightly pull and I fell to the ground worrying that I just may have hurt myself. As I turned with my “What the Hell?” disgusted face to scold whoever was stupid enough to try that, it actually turned into “WHAT THE PHUCK!!?!!!!!?!!!!!!?!!!!!!”. It was some GUY with a stupid creepy grin on his face.

I lit into him big time. “WHAT THE PHUCK ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT? ARE YOU STUPID!?!?!?”.

Sensing my anger, he was clearly uncomfortable and tried to come up with something and said : “Sorry, I thought you were someone else.”

Yeah right, I thought to myself. As seconds went by, I could feel my blood pressure elevating the more I thought about it. I was absolutely SEEETHING!

I replied : “Tell you what, you creepy little bastard. Just so we understand each other, touch me again in any manner at all ever again and I’m going to RIP YOUR PHUCKING HEAD OFF!”

By now, I had the attention of some of the staff and other friends that I know at the gym. I’m a very mild mannered and easy going guy (most of us endurance athletes are), so it took many of them by surprise to hear me go off like that.

But besides the obvious fact that I was disgusted by a guy trying something like that, there was also that fact that I commit a lot of time training and trying to remain injury free ALL YEAR for my type of injury prone athletic events and don’t need some idiot putting me on the sidelines with an injury over something STUPID like that!

At least the “slight pull” I felt didn’t turn into anything.

So please take my advice. NEVER tickle someone when they are STRETCHING.

Would you have reacted as harshly (I'm not saying it wasn't
justified) if it had been a hot girl instead of a creepy guy?

Well, if someone touches you without invitation, the reaction will always depend on the person! If a total stranger just comes from behind and tickles me, I will react totally different than if it is someone I know, and there it would not matter whether I would want to be tickled by the person or not.

You got me there. I wouldn't have. I do kind of expect a girl to show those tendencies, so I was certainly expecting to see a girl when I turned around. I would have been upset and like I said (scolded a bit), but the fact that it was a guy set me off.

Straight guys do NOT want to be hit on by other guys. And if a guy decides to take a risk on doing it to someone he does not know, this guy should be lucky he got off so easy.

But you are right. Guilty Brighteyes

The question was not would you react differently if it was
a different person, it was would you react differently if it
was an attractive female instead of a male.

Don't feel guilty, I was just curious. I know a few
guys (*coughJEFF*cough*) who would've simply
punched the offender right in the face. I'm not at
all judging your reaction, I was just curious if you
would've gotten as angry if it had been a hot girl. 🙂

I would say while carrying something that is breakable. That does no one any good and can only lead to an argument, I'd imagine.

For the guys... NEVER tickle anyone when their arm or leg is near your crotch. You might accidentally get hit or kicked...I had a bad experience.

Also NEVER tickle someone who just drank a lot of soda beer or coffee with watermelon 10 minutes ago.

Never tickle someone with diarrhea either. Thankfully I NEVER experienced anything like that.

Never tickle someone with bad sunburn.

Never tickle someone when they're driving any Truck/Lorry...!

A few years ago my freind thought it'd be funny to tickle me whilst I was driving a truck (44 ton artic...or '18 wheelers' in the U.S) in Central London delivering to Selfridges, she knows I'm quite bad on my sides...but she didn't realise I'd flinch so badly. I ended up moving the steering wheel far to the left and knocking off someone's Ford Focus wing mirror. Thankfully she paid the owner for it and admitted what she'd done lol.

well live and learn i always say

Leprous, giving birth, giving last rites, sitting in an electric chair waiting on a call from da governor, (ah the circle of non-tickling), projectile vomitting, giving you a bj, and of course not partially inside a giant clam.

You know what's funny about this post?

Some people here think what this guy tried to do is the absolute awesome-est, and encourage each other to try it at every opportunity.

Hopefully, they'll finally get it through their thick skulls that "sneaking" a tickle from a complete stranger is a bad idea.
