Albany UNY Gathering '09 The results, and whys, and memories.

What's The Hype?

I don't know what all this hype is about? By the end of the weekend, several horrifying events have taken place. Here are just a few reasons why this weekend left me deeply wounded:

HDS: Ended up bloody and bruised. (My Bad)

Homer: Ended up blinded (My Bad)

K-Dawg: Wasn't black... (Left me shocked and disappointed.)

Homer: Was raped out of a hotel window (Made me feel helpless!)

K-DAWG: Raped Homer out of a hotel window (Driving me to buy an anal chastity belt from the "Shop Erotic" television store for self-defense.)

Baldy + Sasaxrah: Both hoisted into the air and spun against their will...ish (My bad, but separate spin times.)

Impaler: Was left with an unforgivable West Virginia red mark on his forehead. (Cassie's bad.)

Crystal Light: OMG, where do I begin? To say was she was pwned is like saying Israeli Military are decent combatants....

No, Israel PWNED Egypt during the "Six Day War", and Myriads PWNED Crystal Light in ways that may have changed her religion. I know it did Frankfurter's. She was destroyed, devastated, obliterated, annihilated, broken, shattered, slain, massacred, ripped to shreds, brutalized, defeated, conquered, submissified....

It's like nothing I've quite seen before, and sadly, there were 1...2...3...4...5!!! Yes, 5 witnesses to this Crystal Light Apocalypse, and I for one will have nightmares of seeing this poor girl savagely dissected to such an extent that she was convulsing on her OWN for 30 minutes. Such devastation that her own close friend and lifelong bear was heard whispering and pointing "You're Dead To Me".... yes, and it left me dead inside.

The Steelers won their game, and I won my match, but Crystal Light.... Oh you didn't just lose, love. You were PWNED to the 10th Degree. Myriads won, many guests may have felt like winners, but Crystal Light was delivered back to her friends as a big steaming pile of JoPuddle, by which we had no other course of action but to pour her puddleness into a big cup of fail.

Oh you don't believe me... Fine. Then let this be the last point I make.
Crystal was so pwnedx10 that when I turned to her with a upwards head nod and said "Sup," she could not even form that simplest greeting. In fact after several tries we down graded to "S'p" which is "Sup" but with out the U for those too PWNED to say "Sup."

Okay... this apparently was still too exhausting for the battered and oh...my...God...BEATEN Crystal, that we went one natural downgrade further to a serpent greeting... You guessed it. All Sweet Little Puddely CL had to do was say "S" or "Ss" just to confirm that she was still in her own head, that the Hiroshima of Tickling did not force her soul from her body prematurely. Alas... she could not even muster up the strength to hiss at those she once called friends.

Indeed by the end of an hour AFTER the Pearl Harbor on CL's soul... and hour of her recovering, we finally got a head nod. Or at least Slacker and Mistress Aura convinced me at the time that it was a head nod. I am however, and in reflection, convinced that it was but another uncontrollable jerk, or what I called a Ticklegasm Aftershock. Yet we accepted the head jerk as recover and carried our puddle of pwned in our cup of fail out for some fresh air and cancer sticks. Myriads... I salute you, Picasso of Pwnership, you who sat there with a twitching blonde helpless on your lap as if you were Professor Xavier, tickling her with but only your mind... an Obi Wan Kenobi using the Force to bring her body into convulsion with *only* the Force. You go on my wall of heroes. Yes, you, sir, are a Pwner in every sense of the word!

Lastly--Frankfurter: He lost his Mom that day. We will keep you posted on his adoption process, as information becomes available.

SUMMARY: FAIL! I have no idea what all the hype is about and you should all be glad I have not contacted the FBI or CIA to investigate the violence and bloodshed that takes place at these cult-like gatherings!

PS... SRSLY! THANK YOU MISTRESS AURA FOR BRINGING ME!!! I am with Slacker, one of the best weekends EVER, I had so much fun making soooo many new friends. Thank you Myriads, Ray, and Tracy for allowing Mistress Aura to bring her humble husband as a guest. Mr. Legacy was honored to be one of your guinea pigs, and I only pray that with all the bloodshed that I left in my own wake, I will be allowed at your next get together. These things are not what I thought, and barely fetish based. It's family, love, and being together in ways that just seem natural and almost utopian. Thank you for sharing your family and your weekend with me. It made for a wonderful 26th Birthday.

Luvs, Luvs,
"The Bunny Man"
Mr. Legacy

All you need to know in life is, it's all about "The Lean".

You didn`t miss anything as far as info on this,Matt. It was a private affair. You weren`t invited.

Wow, thats a tremendous relief ! I live and work in the Metroland area and never heard of a gathering there in quite awhile.
I'm so glad it was just a non-invite and I wasn't slipping.
I know gatherings have invite lists,so how does one get on it ?
Is there a certain level you must obtain, is there a dues, TMF application or does it help to PM more often to gain this information ?
I went to a NEST once, but never could understand these private gatherings and how they worked.
I'm just really curious.

As Ray has said, it was experimental to see if they (being Ray, Tracy and Myriads) could pull off a Super Bowl Gathering. They were worried about it failing miserably and preferred to keep it to a minimum of guests basically so as not to be totally embarrased forum-wide.

However, it seems unanimous that it was a smashing success and therefore will become an annual thing. It was never meant to slight or otherwise exclude anyone and will most likely become an open invite, though the final word comes down from the 3 I mentioned above. Contact Ray and he can better explain it.

Understand as much as someone may take it out of context, it was what it was. As Ray mentioned, he just grabbed a small to medium group of his close friends together as guinea pigs. Do not try to put definition on "close". That doesn't mean "closest" or "has been to 4+ gatherings" or anything else. Don't try to read in to what is not there. 3 people that have never hosted a gathering and wanted to try, invited a few close friends that have been to gatherings before for a test run, knowing that in a worst case scenario, that it the whole thing fall flat on it's face, and it all went wrong with all kinds of problems, every one of them would have had no problem with it at all and made something fun out of watching the Superbowl together. This was explained to me when it was being organized. I was told "you will be flying in from 2000 miles away and this is a trial run kind of thing" and my response was "I'd make a funeral fun, so I'm in". Had I not been asked I would be applauding for them right now for it.

They should be patted on the back for a job well done and now are planning an event that will be a yearly gathering to bridge the gap from the end of the previous year and NEST. Every gathering that is a success should be lauded happily whether it be private or public. I'm stoked at every new gathering that pops up whether I'm invited or not, whether I can actually go or not. I want the whole community to keep growing larger and better. So again, thank you and congrats on a successful event to all who put it together. :typerhappy:

Couldn't have said it better

KRA-DO you sick sumbitch'!!!

You took the words right out of my ass!

You're disgusting.

Sounds like this was a very successful trial run. I'm glad to hear it. We can always use more gatherings to bridge the gap to NEST. Just wanted to say that I think y'all deserve a lot of credit. 🙂

I went to a NEST once, but never could understand these private gatherings and how they worked.
I'm just really curious.

I wouldn't worry too much about how invites worked for this event since the invite thing was only done as a trial run this year. But basically to give a little perspective one gets invited to a small party on the tmf the same way you get invited to a small party anywhere, by forging close friendships with those throwing the party.

I attended NEST last year as my first gathering. While I met a lot of great people that weekend, I certainly didn't get to know anyone so well that they would have thought to invite me to a small party if that was the extent of my interaction with them. But like everyone else that attended UNY we became close friends with the organizers over time. This is done by a lot of phone calls, instant messages, private messages, as well as additional face to face time. The people that attended this event were specifically invited because they are so close with the organizers that they knew we would support them regardless of how the event turned out. People that were not invited were not left out because they are less popular on the forum, but because the people that attended were those the organizers were most comfortable either failing or succeeding in front of.

Gathering that are open to all on the TMF, as UNY will be next year, are run differently. There is a registration process where that particular host will charge whatever registration fee is necessary to cover their costs and will screen people before they approved. Screening has nothing to do with popularity or post counts or who your friends are, but are about ensuring that the people who attend are respectful of others and are interested in socializing, meeting new people, and having fun. LeeAllure did a great interview about how the registration process for NEST works on the 01/19/09 episode of Don't Judge Me on TMF Radio (shameless plug). Check it out in the archives in the Radio discussion forum. For my NY munches screening takes into account making sure the group does not get too large, watching out for people I believe might not interact well with either the group generally or specific people. I'm never looking to turn anyway but I want to make sure the group is a manageable size and everyone that comes will be polite and respectful. Screening differs for all organizers.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Aww...everything sounds like uber fun! I wish I could have come, but alas....school often gets in the way what with my recital in like 2ish weeks.

Memories, memories.....there are so many for me. Where to begin.

Meeting long-time forum friend, Tortuga for the very first time.

How about Homer shutting off the GPS before we actually got to the hotel, thus bringing us to the wrong one.

The ear-piercing shreiks (my ears were ringing when this happened) when K-dog arrived when most, including myself, believed he wasn't able to come.

I said it last night and I'll say it again: booze runs with Lee = epic win.

Jo finally realizing who I was after about a half hour and then literally leaping toward me, clearing about a 6 foot distance between us and proceeding to lovingly squeeze the life out of me.

Meeting Euphoricy, Raya, Classy and the tool-man himself, ImFAILer all at once upon arrival.

Meeting Lee and having her shake my hand right before I get maul-hugged by Mondy.

Finally meeting the man himself, MTPJeff....and having him not realize who I was until K-dog told him an hour later.

Two words: EPIC mudslides!!!!

Meeting Ray and beginning the inevitable banter about my Steelers in the Super Bowl.

Capnmad's yeti walk thru a snowbank to get some Starbuck's.

Mistress Aura going into hysterics for about an hour because of my deadpan look coupled with her husband's insanity.

Encouraging words from Classy during our numerous smoke breaks outside in the cold.

Two more words for you: Lean Machine.

Spreading the good word of the Steelers by passing out all my jerseys for the ladies to wear (thanks Lee, Mondy, Jo, Classy and Bella).

Seeing the Tzar in the flesh and not being at all impressed. (Just kidding, Myr. Hopefully next time, I'll get to chat with you more).

STEELERS WIN THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!

I have so many other memories that I'll always cherish for as long as I can remember them from people that I've met to conversations had and such, but it would make this post insanely long to list them all. Bottom line is, it's the best time I think I've ever had and I will most definitely do it again.

oh and it was nice to meet you too slacker....I found some ticklish spots !!:marchofthekitties:

I too Krazy....I am just happy to get to any of these and hug away! If anyone knows Ray and Tracy like I do they these are the nicest best intentioned people I know...it was what it was...a trial run, and I thank them for opening up a new gathering for all of us in the future.
