It's just a 'crude' way to allow air to flow in those areas without having to actively stretch and hold the position yourself.

Females who wear closed shoes [especially when they have soft, tender feet] do it more than you might imagine. Just... not with rocks.

Wow, that's a really nice detail. I imagine it must depend on what kind of feet the woman has, but I always thought the only time they would seperate their toes like that was with toe seperators when they were applying varnish.

Which makes me wonder. If they can include such a specific and relatively uncommon idea as that, how come I can't ever remember a scene in an anime where a female character is painting her toenails?

What the topic needs is posts of rarer images and video clips which would be hard to find otherwise.
