Anime to watch

Gankutsou. A futuristic version of Count of Monte Cristo. Trust me, very very good.

I'm bringing this back up with a couple of more suggestions. I'm beginning to get into watching Patlabor and Descendants of Darkness. Patlabor's good if you like funny, yet stupid comedy, and Descendants of Darkness is a pretty interesting show, dealing with a group of ghost detectives. I'd check them out if you can find them 🙂

Can anyone give me any torrent files for these anime's that they've reccomended? It's gonna be lonely here at Xmas and I'll need some stuff to watch...

Sure, no problem! *Walks off. Walks back about ten seconds later* Um...Where do I find torrent files?

Lol you want the brief explanation, or the full description with links to get you up and torrenting?

Whichever one you think would help a guy get started with this sort of thing the most. I don't actually have many of these animes on hand or anything.

Oki doki. Basics first:

Bittorent is a form of P2P (peer to peer) file sharing, much like Kazaa, Emule etc etc. You download a main program that manages the downloads for you. An example of this is here:

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/p2p_software/p2p_applications/bitcomet.cfm

You can search through a variety of sites and download "bittorent" files, which you then run through the aforementioned programs to download the files. As with all P2P, it is totally dependant on how many people are sharing the file at the time. A couple of examples of good torrent sites are:

a.scarywater.net
www.piratebay.org

That should be enough to get you started out ^^ .

Hmmm ok. I'll have to play around with this and then see what kind of magic I can come up with 😎

Im watching those who hunt elves on anime network. Its funny! I wuv elfs too. ; )

Just a note...if you're going to be sharing torrents you'll have to do it somewhere else. We can't allow that here, sorry.

No worries, I thought that would be the case 🙂 . For reference the actual torrent files dont break any laws, but its better to be safe than sorry 😀 .

animecornerstore.com

Yeah, but no Bleach yet. If I like the anime, you can bet your balls I'll purchase it when it comes out. I support my anime companies and importers!!!!

Technically, I'm you're new god. I'm the one who told HDS about it. And he's the one who told others. So pass a little of that homage my way, will you? 😉

Ah why not. I'm not limited to monotheism 😎 *bows to Vlad as well*

Yes that is true. Vlad told hds and hds told me and i told my friend down two flights from me and he told our boy down the block and now everyone knows about this.

you can also seek out the anime network on cable. However, the trick is they only play adv films. So, technically, its not really a network. Its more like a blog for adv films.

Everyone is happy!!

Here are my pics....a lot of obscure titles but thats more of what I'm into 😀

Urusei Yatsura: The first series by Rumiko Takahashi, the one who does Inuyasha. This is easily my favorite anime series of all time, a bizarre but funny series about an alien girl who falls in love with an earth boy and moves in with him....then all kinds of wierdness ensues...(also one of the first of this theme which many other series' kinda ripped off; Tenchi Muyo, Ah My Goddess, etc..)

The Laughing Target: (no not a tickling vid) Another vid by Takahashi, but VERY creepy. Basically about a boy who promised to marry a girl he knew when he was a little kid, now years later she returns and intends on making him live up to his promise.

The Ultimate Teacher: Easily the most bizarre one-shot anime movie I've ever seen in my life. About a dead-end high school where all the worst students and thugs attend. Then they bring in the "Ultimate Teacher" to clean things up.....he's a raving lunatic...LOL.....

Serial Experiments: LAIN: All the mind-f*ck qualities of Evangelion in only half the time...I watched this series all the way through (about 4-6 episodes) and was speaking in tongues by the time it was over...😛 You'll never look at the internet the same way again...."The wired is calling you."

Kishin Corps: Just a fascinating and beautifully done series, about 4 movies long. Its a parrallel world set in World War 2, only instead of the Alies and Axis powers, its a 3-way war between Japan, the Nazi's and an Alien race. Some really cool "realistic" mecha in here, running on steam and electric power and needing A LOT of prep time to get going.

Blue Seed: One of the coolest demon-hunting series' ever. The character "Kusanagi" just kicks way too much ass. And the little shorts after each episode "Omake Theater" are friggin hilarious!

Patlabor Mobile Police Force: Think Police Academy with big robots...

Ping Pong Club: ......there are no words to describe how truly bizarre this series is, but funny as hell though....horny middle school students....unreal visuals....if you can make it past the opening credits you should be pretty good to go 😀

Tokyo Godfathers: Another beautifully done movie. Three homeless people find a baby abandoned in the trash and it ends up bringing them together and helps them come to grips with their own personal demons.

Blood: The Last Vampire: A stunning dark gothic little tale. Even though it feels as if it starts and ends in the middle of a longer story, to date it has some of the best animation I've ever seen.

Metropolis: By renowned grandfather of all Anime Osamu Tezuka (Astroboy, Kimba the White Lion). An amazing blend of CGI and Cel Animation set in a "Flash Gordon" style future remiscent of the 1920s....

PHOTON: From the makers of Tenchi Muyo...a HILARIOUS series about a young (and very hungry) boy with really freaky eyes (LOL) from a madmax style desert planet who inadvertantely becomes engaged to a sleeping alien girl......SO SO FUNNY! Basically he finds her asleep and as a joke, writes the symbol for "stupid" in his language on her forehead. She awakens and he learns that in her culture, placing "your mark" on the forehead of a female is a marriage proposal. The whole rest of the series she wonders why everyone is laughing at her...LOL

If I think of anymore I'll post again 😀

I tried to watch it a little while ago, but got a little bored after a few minutes. Suppose its something I have to sit through the first episode to get into really. I normally give anime's 1 or 2 episodes to pull me in, and if they dont manage it, then I move on.
