Curious about what professions all our ticklers/lees come from?

I'm always hopeful that there's SOME other common traits "we" /the brethren may possess

Feeling very politically correct this AM. If anyone has a problem with "bretheren" sounding too manly and not inclusive enough, why not state it bretheren and sisteren (or as some of the kids I've worked with call it...cistern.)

OK, OK! So I'm in a smart ass mood again! I'm sure Drew will find a way to punish me for that. 😀

Hey Sis..Brethren!

Main Entry: breth·ren
Pronunciation: 'bre[th]-r&n; 'bre-[th]&-, -[th]&rn
Date: before 12th century-- used chiefly in formal or solemn address or in referring to the members of a profession, society, or sect.

Seems to be a universally applicable moniker, yes? Now if you want to start a debate on whether we're a profession (we wish), society (community, yes...society...not sure), or a sect (sounds good to me, where do I sign up?), that would be a new thread! Get 'er Drew, btw!

Actually, Q, I have no problem with the term bretheren, or mankind, or any other generic terms like that. If we looked at word originas and considered the fact that English is one of the few that doesn't automaticly take the "male" term as all-inclusive, I doubt that people would have a problem with it. I just enjoy making fun of those who get all bent out of shape about it. I can't stand it when some of these feminazis make a big deal because something doesn't sound feminine or inclusive. I'm all for equal rights. But, let's have it EQUAL, not reverse descrimination.

(No offense intended if that includes anyone here. If you ARE offended, you can always find a way to punish me too! )

OK, I'm not afraid to show my ignorance in the matter. There's a difference in styles? What's different?

But nothing wrong with getting some more data! Q

In the above mentioned thread, I answered that I was a kindergarden teaching assistant.

On Thursday, August 8, 2002 it became official. That was the day I received my acceptance letter.
On August 26th, I return to college for the 1st time in 17 years, as as Early Childhood Education major.

Jen, if I was wearing one I'd take my hat of to you! You have more balls (metaphorically speaking of course😀 ) than I'll ever have. I wish I had the guts to go back to college myself. Well done!

Thanks Ray,
I am so excited to start school. It will keep me very busy, which I desperately need to be.

BTW, I have really wanted to talk to you and Tracy. Get in touch somehow, ok?

Jen

We will.......

Gonna be offline for a little bit but will contact you...

I work for an organization that enforces the anti-cruelty laws in the District of Columbia. Can be a tad depressing, but very nice to know at the end of the day that I'm making the world a little bit of a better place. And besides, hom many other jobs are there where you can get up from your desk and play with a puppy when you get stressed out?

Rocker and Fed

Yep,

I've played in rock bands most of my life and now I work for the Feds. My agency runs Federal Buildings. I'm one of the few Feds you'll meet that still has long hair.

Being a musician and playing in a lot of clubs, I noticed one strange thing: It's easier to find a girl who'll give you sex than one who'll let you tickle them. Weird, huh?!!
