Hockey World Juniors 2009/2010 - DREAM TEAM!

Indeed, congrats to the USA... they really outplayed us for much of the game I thought, but it was an epic battle as always 😀 Cars may be right... as sweet as 6 Gold in a row would be, we can't expect it every year 🙂

And poopies, amazing job indeed! :gbtoast: Will have to really be prepared for the next draft I can see 😀

Hey I totally understand if any Canadian wants their country to set a new record and win 6 straight golds, but the WJC has just started getting coverage in Sweden, and it has started gaining some popularity in Slovakia as well. If the same country keeps winning then these other nationalities will eventually lose interest again, which is obviously bad for the sport in the long-run. :bugeyed:

The winner may, if he wants, add "WJC Dream Team Champion 09/10" to his signature for bragging rights, but I was thinking since I intend to redo this for every major international hockey tournament (and maybe for the next NHL season as well?), we might want to dedicate a page for this on the Quirkville website too, thereby immortalizing the winner's name there for all time! 😀
 
What a cruel end to what was a good Juniors... I went to an NHL game in my home town here while the Canada/U.S.A. game was playing and we were all dejected when the States were up 5-3. Once the NHL game finished, the building put on the juniors game and that was when Canada scored than tied it up shortly after... only to have what happened in OT happen. 🙁 Eberle's beating Tavares record seems like a pretty moot point now, shamefully.

Oh I definitley approve! :bouncybou An NHL pool would be amazing too for next season! :woot: Maybe we can do one for the playoffs this year anyway? :excited:

Oh dude, I hear ya 🙁 After that craziness in the last few minutes to bring it to OT... but you know, I'd rather us have lost that way than in regulation. The boys can still keep their heads high 🙂

We can see how everyone feels after we've done the Olympics and World Championship. 😉

We'll obviously need to use some different rules for the NHL pool though, and I will probably just update the standings every 10 games or so, but either way I think it could be a lot of fun to have a long-term pool going like that! 😀
 
Oh I agree! 😀 And would be a lot to keep up with, a long term pool... so I wouldn't expect that you have to do all the updates, lol.

Yeah, lots of time... Olympics and I forgot about the world's! 😱 But I'm definitely looking forward to the Olympics :happyhop:
 
Well, so long as we are more restrictive with switching our guys for undrafted players I think it'll be relatively easy to manage. 🙂 Or we could implement "trade windows" and whatnot. But if someone who is used to long-term pools would give some suggestions that would be appreciated! Do we draft a full team of players, for example?

All in good time, though. I think we can save this talk for the summer, when there's no hockey to worry about anyways! 😉

If you do decide to do an NHL pool next year, we might as well just make a TMF fantasy hockey league through yahoo or something. Make keeping track of stats a lot easier, since we wouldn't have to do it.

To settle the tie-breaker, you could go by who has more goals. That's what Yahoo does :shrug:

How about tying down to girls and each guy tickles one. The first guy to make his Lee Pee is the pool winner. Thats right I said the first guy to make his lee pee in the pool wins it!
