How do you view people based on their usernames?

Hmmm... it usually passes me by casually but now you specifically made me aware of it. Now I can't post without getting a bit bothered by it.

Nah.

Sort of WYSIWYG.

I'll take you as an example: Journ(i)alist - I was supposed to make an impression you are a consummate writer but the "Das uber troll" waived it all... bwahahahahaha! (Just kidding)

In other words, it is like a brand name, but the personality gets revealed by time and side adlibs.

I never thought about this ever.

CellerDweller, when I saw it for the first time, I was like...

"Who names their kid Cellerd?"

:lol

Actually, most people seem to think that I sleep in the cellar of a house. In truth, I sleep in the attic.

All my stuff (DVDs, VCR/DVD, CDs, Computer) is in the cellar, so that's where I spend time, hence the name.

isabeau...nice long blond hair that is slightly graying/pale with a cherubim face, rosy cheeks, and a smile that would melt a dictator's heart. ^_^

nerrad...a chalk skinned muscular spartan warrior responsible for the ruination of the world with a scowl so unbelievable that it's in danger of causing his face to become a singularity.

PurpleStyle...a attractive African American woman who wears glasses, has nice black long hair, likes to study and to learn.

Journia...a slim man with reddish brown short hair, likes to wear black trench coats and black sunglasses.

Common sense indicates the user name and the advatar to be a rough guide to the person who owns it.

My opinion of the owner is dependent on what they say and do and if they behave in a sensible manner.

It is supposed to be a zany fun type thing but can cause problems.

When i joined another site a while back we had two hazels so i used hazelf.

My name being Hazel Foster there then followed the various questions.

Does it mean: Elf, are your a guy, are you a female, is it connected with feet, and so on.

Usernames can inform, or give us a connotation as to one of us. There's the obvious ones like 'Feettickler' and such. Those that tell us ler/lee, gender, or interests. Some can seem clever, others normal, still others provocative.

I don't know how Hazelf relates to feet, but then again I guess feet questions pop up for everything. I do get the elf bit, that's what I assumed at first, before I knew it was your name. Let's see, others...

Rox My Sox: Suggestive, either in an awesome or sexy way.
Cellardweller: Shy, introspective... likes mushrooms?
TheChameleon: Master of Disguise?
AnnoXanti: ...latin...something. Got nothin', sorry.

As for me, I like meat?

well i decided to add my username to the mix and because i have no imagination when it comes to screen names i chose the worst one to represent my person. i have a good imagination but cant make a decent name if my life depended on it

The more creative screennames are the ones that get my attention and i may find that person to be interesting but i'm not really sure how i may see that person i will just be like oh thats a cool screenname like there's afew that i thought were pretty interesting i'm not sure if i should name any of them haha.

I despise everyone who has a user name with either: numbers, unnecessary X's, or other characters that aren't used in any language group.

Seriously, is it that hard to make a name with out adding a 10 to the end of a word?

What if the numbers in their user name are their birth year for example?

The way I look at usernames is that the more focused the user name is on the particular places topic (i.e. tickling for this site) the more likely they are to overindulge in or become an ass about said topic.

If your username is taken (as is the case the majority of the time) you have to add numbers to it. I thought everybody knew that. Also, I usually create a username based on whatever the place happens to be at the time. This one is a rare exception to my rule. For example, on a Star Wars message board, my username would be that of my favorite Jedi, and most likely a number or two behind it. I think that some of you read too much into these things.

I try not to judge people based upon their usernames because it's something chosen at the very beginning of their forum life. I gather that a lot of people don't really know what to expect from a fetish forum and so they play it safe and stick to the obvious usernames with words like "tickle" in them. Plus, if usernames ever were an indication of personality, then this still wouldn't be helpful because I think online personalities change over time (And so becomes less accurate the higher the post count/join date).

That's not to say that you shouldn't put any thought into choosing a name though. Some names stand out more than others, and it really is true that if your username is something like "supertickle24847" then you'll be forgotten quite easily (although naturally intelligent posting is a remedy for that).

Despite that, I have a habit of picturing people to look like their avatars. :B

So when I created this name, i wanted to create a name where no one i knew would be able to figure out its me if they happened to be lurking around the same site. Sisko (yes, the person who wrote the thong song) was popular at the time and i thought gee, if i pick sisco and change the c to a K and add 182182 (because of the band blink182) they would never figure out its me! yeah, i was younger then, but hey, it worked!

For some reason, I always picture Wade with curly hair.

That's uncanny. How'd ya know??

lol....really? Was I right?

Well, I don't know why I had an idea of what you look like.....just something that popped into my head.

I pictured you on the slender side....taller, maybe 5'9' or so, clean shaven and curly hair, and a friendly smile.

I thought his name was Cisco. Y'know, like Crisco without the R.

You know, ever since I started going on this forum, I'd have thought to myself every time I saw that username: Is that supposed to be the rapper? Or...is it some kind of mythological snake creature I don't know about?
