Hello everyone!
This is Francois from The Last Laugh. Since feedback from potential customers and other helpful people is a very valuable tool, I'm posting this message to get your opinion on something that might guide my choice of models for future videos.
By the way, I apologize for the length of this message. I tend to have trouble being concise, to the point that it sometimes gets ridiculous. My bad. Also, the issues I'm discussing here might seem somewhat shallow by some people. I actually agree with that point of view to some extent, but it's a necessary evil in this business. I truly apologize if this offends anyone.
Recruiting new models isn't easy. At least not here in Quebec City. It's not a very big city, and people tend to be somewhat conservative. This isn't like New York, Los Angeles, or even Montreal. You'd think I'd have all the models I need and more, what with my living right next to a 30,000+ student campus, but it's not really the case.
I do get a decent number of calls, and many people make appointments. But many drop out of the project for a variety of reasons, either before the first meeting or before the audition session (I don't always do both on the same day). I'd say I lose about 75% of the candidates before I even get a chance to test their potential. It makes for a lot of frustration and wasted time.
Of course, some people do have enough interest to stick to the project and go as far as the audition session, in hopes of being hired for a commercial video. Unfortunately, not all of the candidates have what it takes. Some are attractive but aren't quite ticklish enough. Others react really nicely but, as much as I feel bad for saying this, somehow don't seem quite as attractive as ideally they should be.
I think turning down a model who's not ticklish enough is disappointing but perfectly reasonable. After all, what's the point of a tickling video if the models are less ticklish than average or don't have especially interesting reactions? What truly saddens me is when a model is playful, enthusiastic and, most importantly, decently ticklish, but doesn't quite have the looks. This is especially frustrating because, if it were only up to me, some of these candidates would do just fine. They're not super lookers, but basically ok. Problem is, since tastes vary widely from person to person, it's hard for me to evaluate how attractive a model must be to interest potential customers.
I prefer to work with girl-next-door models. But people's definition of "girl-next-door" varies. I think most people agree that part of it is that a girl looks natural, without all the make-up and artificial glamour and fake pseudo-sexiness many models in the adult industry tend to have. The girl next door looks more real. However, some people seem to think it also means the girl should be more attractive than average, sometimes significantly so. In other words, a natural beauty. Nothing wrong with that definition, but it's not mine.
To me, "girl-next-door" looks simply means that a girl looks like the average person you can meet in everyday life. She can be more attractive than average, even beautiful, but not necessarily so. My personal view is that, as long as a girl has at least average looks and isn't plain unattractive, she can be an excellent model if she's interested in the project and is sufficiently ticklish.
I think that Marie and Isabelle, the models in my first video (Last Laugh Alpha), are both above-average in the looks department, while still fitting my definition of girl-next-door. They might not be to everyone's taste, but I assume most people find them cute enough. I'd be thrilled if I could always use models like them. But in practice it's very hard for me to find a good combination of looks and ticklishness (not to mention enthusiasm). If I'm to produce videos on a more or less regular basis, I may very well have to hire some models that don't look quite as good as Marie and Isabelle.
Now, I don't want to sacrifice the ticklishness factor. The models won't always be insanely ticklish, but definitely enough for a decent tickling video. That means I'll have to be a bit more flexible about looks. But I'm afraid this might disappoint some potential customers, enough to hurt sales. I mean, I can't expect my videos to please everybody, but they have to sell enough to justify their existence.
So, just how important is the attractiveness of the models when it comes to choosing what tickling video to buy? Do they have to be above-average, or will average-looking girls do as well? This is assuming the models are fun, playful and ticklish, of course.
There's one case I find especially touchy: when one member of a duo of friends looks ok and the other doesn't look quite as nice. I don't mean unattractive. I just mean rather plain, not really the type of girl you see in most such videos. Using only one of the girls isn't an option for me. It would likely hurt the feelings of the girl I turn down, and chances are the other girl would drop out because it simply wouldn't be the same experience for her, and she might even be upset at me (I couldn't blame her, really). It would certainly make me feel guilty. So I prefer not to split up teams. But how would hiring such a duo affect the popularity of a video? Would it really matter that much? Could the less attractive model still be interesting to many people? Would it hurt the video's sales in a significant way?
One option would be to have the less attractive model act as the other's tickler. While I agree it's nice to have a good-looking tickler, I assume the appearance of a ticklee tends to be a little more important. But what if the tickler happens to be as ticklish as the ticklee, or even more so? Wouldn't it be a waste? Wouldn't it be better to have the models take turns, to take advantage of the potential of each of them, even if one isn't as pretty as the other one? What do you think?
I'm very interested in feedback about this because it might influence my recruitment strategy. Personally, I'd much rather offer new videos on a regular basis, even if some of the models are average-looking, than only offering one every 3 months or so because I have trouble finding models that are ticklish and have looks that I'm sure will please most people. As long as the models are fun to watch, of course.
You know, maybe my perception of the situation is influenced by the models seen in most videos, and in reality people a more interested in regular girls that I think, as long as they react nicely to tickling. Note that I'm not especially interested in most models seen in videos of this nature, and I actually prefer many of the average girls I meet. But I know my tastes aren't shared by everyone. Which is fine, but it does make my job more challenging.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this message. Sorry again for being so long-winded.
