Personally I don't think she wants to anymore. Its just something in those eyes...something screaming, "Help Me"

Come on now, someone who believes that humans and dinosaurs coexisted is just what America needs! That, and someone who cuts library budgets!

Where in the bloody hell did these senile Republicans dig this person up from?????

If she becomes the VP, God and Goddess help us all 'cause we are severely screwed.

This is freaking hilarious. You guys will defend that two bit hack from Chicago who has the same level of experience as Palin. Obama's experience... um cog in the Chicago machine. That's great. You put the understudy in the backup role people.

Actually, I'm not saying she doesn't have enough experience. I am saying that I thik she doesn't want to lead anymore.

First, it's scientifically and Biblically simple to prove people and dinosaurs did co-exist.

Second, I don't think she's ready to lead the world. Alaska? Sure. Same with Obama. If being well spoken and poised at the podium was all it took, then yeah... they're both ready. Obama's got about 5 months worth of time on the job.

It's like picking a kid who's been driving three weeks and has no accidents yet over a guy who's been driving 25 years and has had a few fender benders. Shit happens. But lack of bad does not automatically equal good.

o sure she is ready...instead of a bridge leadiing to no where...hmm she can build a stairway to the heavens...

oo yea..she's a peach of a leader alright..

lol Journia...help me lol...

Yeah, I wasn't really referring to your question specifically. I was speaking more generally.

As for not wanting to lead, she knew what she was getting into. My guess is she is just not quite used to a national campaign. In addition, the McCain campaign is not using her strengths effectively which is education and energy. The whole foreign policy rap is ridiculous anyway. People are people, it doesn't matter what side of a border they are on. The only difference is their issues, but they are still human beings. We're not talking Babylon 5 here.

But overall, this is McCain and Obama's fight not the VPs.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of focus on the VP's this time around. This is the first American election I've followed, is this normal?

Yeah, it's normal. Shouldn't be, but it is.

And I don't like to air out my political opinions online...but even I know what Bush's foreign policy is🙄

I think she's an idiot.

As for proving that dinosaurs and men walked the Earth together... there is no proof in either the Bible or in the fossil record to corroborate that assertion.

Besides. Guys. The real issue is that she likes to burn books! Come on? Haven't you heard of the Sarah Palin Annual Bookburning in Anchorage?

She and Hitler used to be the only attendees, but Hitler stopped coming when she wouldn't put out.

x2! I'd have to say Palin has more experience than Obama given the amount of days he's actually served..although we could go on and on, I won't 🙂

It's not an assertion, it's a fact. But since this forum has horrible allergies to discussions involving religion - and the fact that you're neither a Bible scholar or paleontologist - we'll just let it alone. 😉

There has always been some talk about the VPs. In recent elections they have gained a little more importance. In this election particularly because you have the choice of Joe Biden over Hillary Clinton and the choice of Sarah Palin. So there is more drama than usual. However, the election always refocuses on the Presidential candidates. Especially since there is no contest in the home states of the VPs (Delaware and Alaska).

I hope that you are enjoying American Politics 101. :super_hap We all kind of act like Vulcan's in Pon farr around this time. We'll be back to "normal" in a few months.

The truth is that I need neither. My beliefs are my own. Yours are your own. I don't entertain religious discussions because I have no place for them in my life.

I believe in Jesus the Savior, and my relationship with him is my own. I don't need "bible scholars" to tell me what to believe. In fact, I have it on strong personal recommendation from the Son that I believe anything I want as far as the past, since it's the past.

What matters is the time we live, not what happened thousands, millions or even billions of years ago.

Maybe I'm a wierdo for having my own beliefs and being sure of them through my own relationship with the God and Son I believe in. I don't need people to read an ancient book to me and tell me that the things I feel in my soul are wrong.

Thank you for your time my friend.

^ you never fail to amaze me...i agree one hundred percent Jimmy the James...

You're 100% right. A relationship with Jesus is personal. And I'm glad to hear you have one. And while it's true that the Bible is old and has been translated many times over from ancient languages, it's still [for me] God's word. I'm personally a believer of embracing the whole thing. I don't think it has a few good points and the rest is filler. I know others take what they need or believe just what they like. And it's a priceless tool for understanding it all, but people can and will die and go to Heaven having never opened a Bible. That's not how you get in and I'm not impressed with people who have more memorized than I do.

Thanks for the cool response and sorry to get off topic.

CBS News has been running a Sarah Palin interview all week with Katie Couric and although I have watched bits and pieces, that about all I can stand to watch of Palin.

She cannot answer simple questions as to what other Supreme Court rulings other than Roe Vs. Wade that she knows of. She cannot even answer a question as to what magazines she reads on a regular basis. The answers she gives are what I would hear the blondest, dumbest beauty contestant give and she blows them off in the same fashion.

This person has about as much business leading this country as Beavis and Butthead do. Shit, I would vote for them instead of this person.

She is one dumb and DANGEROUS bitch.

Sarah Baracuda actuaslly looks more like an Eel....

Ask Obama the same questions. He just knows how to put a little dark chocolate whipped cream and a blackberry on top.

That is hilarious really. I fell on the floor just now.

But really, we shall only know who will do well by their actions in the future. I don't believe in making anyone out to be inexperienced or whatever. I'd rather see what they'd do and base my decision on both my experiences regarding the individuals and the priorities they have. Yeah.....

No. Alaska is 1/4 the size of Pittsburg and she has run it for 2 years.

I don't get the sense that she is at all shy about doing it though. Its not like anything is stopping her from walking away.

Pittsburgh is 56 square miles and has a population of 330,000.

Alaska is the largest of the 50 states, with a total area of 591,004 sq mi (1,530,699 sq km). Land takes up 570,833 sq mi (1,478,456 sq km) and inland water 20,171 sq mi (52,243 sq km). Alaska is more than twice the size of Texas, the next-largest state, and occupies 16% of the total US land area with a population of 670,053 as of 2006.

Very elegant. Palin doesn't suck because of her beliefs in the Bible. If that's your beef with her, then you have to also be an ignorant ass to a lot of Christians in the ol' forum here. I find it somewhat ironic that I get such a reaction to an "old fictional book" from a bunch of adults that play with light sabers. And much like you don't care what I think about that, it doesn't sway me what the other opinions of the Bible are.

The beef is not only with her as a totally unqualified and inept individual, but I find having her as a candidate of anything highly offensive to me as a woman. Sure she may know something about making babies and raising them in the wilderness (home school, is a joke BTW) but she is a complete unknown and is the darling of Republicans because she is a "Holy Roller". Her vain attempts of sugarcoating her life and her beliefs only make it more unpalatable for people like me, who were once Christian, before people like Palin and her ilk poisoned what was suppose to be a loving and spiritual religion.

Christ would probably agree as if he every came back and saw what his movement had become, a tool of fear and ruling by fear and ignorance. That is why I left and have no intention of going back.

She needs to get real as many others do about the real world in which we live in.

Watch her interview series running all this week on CBS I think. It says everything.

From a totally objective basis, do you expect me to take on face value an interview done by a network that is working to get Obama elected? I could probably take that same interview tape and edit it in a way that would make her look better than Lincoln, FDR, JFK, and Reagan combined!

Face it, the networks are liberally biased. They have been that way for 40+ years. I intended to watch the debate tonight. Although, once again, the deck is stacked because the moderator is writing a biography of Obama that will be released on (wow, what a shock) INAUGURATION DAY! That's like asking Al Davis to be the head referee at a Raiders vs, Broncos game and expecting a fair call on every play.

Face it, the no longer mainstream press, has the fix on. Take off the rose colored glasses. They did this to Robert Bork. They did it to Clarence Thomas, and now they are "Borking" Gov. Palin.

Be unlike the press and be objective.
