Is Tickle Porn industry dying?

All of this is true. The porn argument doesn't even need to be had here. Piracy is 100% the major issue. But it was an issue even when I was younger and I realized lately that this may be a big reason as well. Teens need access to porn because they crave it. We put up paywalls, age verification's, etc but then remember back then we all STILL somehow saw videos WAY out of our age range somehow. I think thats what started the boom of piracy. Teens who are intelligent enough to crack the system in some way then file share. Then add people who want money on top of that so they see a profit, cheap people, international people from a society of poverty and then it becomes easier and easier and here we are.
Now as producers our overhead is MASSIVE. People don't want to spend the money at all with free content out there and the main times MOST people buy content is when they're alone and massively horny. Well if you have a search engine with free videos you will get off without a 2nd thought. So now when I book a model I need to pay them which can cost 200-400 depending on time, what we shoot, etc. Now if I get 3 videos an hour for 14.99 I need to sell that content AND make a profitable return. This can be impossible when I post a clip and 2 days later its all over pornhub. Now I am fighting piracy and PH takes too long to flag and remove content. So I now I lost anywhere from 250-400. So lets observe that vs older producers.
I have a lot of cool friends who are down to get tickled so lets say I do a tickle renaissance. These models have to travel to me, shoot, and get some type of compensation. I now lose a whole day to shoot and prep, backup footage, and edit. Close to 12-16 hours of work at times with 4-6 models and now I could have paid 800-1200. Not to mention food, drinks, etc and if you have assistants. Now some people get lucky and can do this for little to no money but MOST cannot. This can cause a MASSIVE debt inducing overhead. This is the stuff I want people to think about when they steal. We are not major companies with sponsors we are independent producers. I am 27 with 3 dogs and a son. I have to bust my ass to make ends meet and The Tickle Room is something I do on the side and fell in love doing because of the cool ass fans both men and women that I have. Customs, sessions, sponsors will ALWAYS help producers but piracy makes the profit go down heavily making it WAY harder for us.
But the other major issue coming in right now is actually stuff like Only Fans and instagram with Quality over quantity becoming a massive issue. Someone else can get into that one so I am not writing a masters thesis on this lmfao (I actually did a social essay on this topic in College)

My man! This, all of this right here is why I definitely slowed down. I started doing this stuff at 18 (now 33) but it is definitely hard to make money back to even break even on shoots these days. Really why the content slowed down.

I have not bought clips on a regular basis since having kids, but it still seems like there are a lot of companies making clips. Therefore, if it is hard to make money back on the clips, then most must be doing it for something more than just money. And because so many companies are still making clips. It does not seem like the industry is dead or even dying.

Add social media being a runaway train and being able to go directly to a "model" vs a production house, it's just a new world.

This is a huge one (...that's what she said!) that I don't think people are really acknowledging. In my experience, especially on Instagram;

Producer: "Here's a ten-minute clip of professionally-shot tickling footage for $5."

CommunitY: "FUCK YOU TOO EXPENSIVE IMMA PIRATE IT ON PORNHUB"

Random chick: "Here's ten seconds of me wiggling my toes at the camera, subscribe to my OnlyFans for $20"

Community: "OH YESS GODDESS HERE'S $100 PLEASE NOTICE MEEEEE"

The porn industry (and thus the tickling part of it) is not dying, it's just undergoing a change, not unlike what has happened several times in the past.

With porn there are two major things that change the industry, technical innovation, and sociological change in a population. The industry has seen a good measure of both.

In the 1960's and 70's the sexual revolution blossomed, and the cultures take on porn changed, and it became a bit more accepted, and not totally a horror to be denied and hidden. Adult theaters multiplied, magazines grew much more hardcore moving from the 'tasteful nudes of Playboy to the Gyno-shots of Hustler. The porn industry grew massively, and produced lots of material.

The 80's brought technical innovation in the forum of the VCR. With it Porn found a whole new market, people viewing in the privacy of their own homes. And video tape camera's produced a boom in amateur porn that actually had rental and swap stores for it.

The 90's brough the web, more tech innovation. And distribution of porn became easier, and socially communities (not unlike ours) formed and in turn created marketplaces for many things that were fringe or impossible to monetize before. Also gatherings and meetings of like minded people became simpler and more frequent. Adult media continued to be seen as less of a threat and more common. Fetishes started to be mainstreamed, with Bondage and spanking leading the way.

By the 00's digital distribution was embraced, and the physical media methods died out. Printed material started to vanish, Video tapes did, and DVD's followed. It made porn super cheep to distribute, but also was the devils bargain that any digital media holds, piracy became easy, and the web acted as a multiplier on it. Technology also lowered the entry bar for anyone that wanted to make something pretty low. Film it in an affordable camera and then edit it on your computer and then distribute it online, and hey Clips4Sale was there to make that part simple to. No website needed!

By the 10's Piracy had beaten the tar out of almost every porn producer under a certain size, and badly hurt even the big boys making the vanilla style porn. And the rise of Webcams and cam girls hit them (and strip clubs) hard also. And from cams grew Onlyfans and AVN which allowed easy distribution for an individual for a cut. You could record off your phone, webcam and upload and find an audience. Would it be pirated? Yup. But the appeal was with the individual rather then the genre and that person would build a fanbase that kept them going even with piracy, and that's the model that works now.

Also once again, sociologically changes happened. In 1980 if a 18 year old woman had nudes of her (probably polaroids) leaked Her. Life. Was. Over. It was a huge deal. In 2020 that same 18 year old is producing soft core porn and loading it onto the web herself and often making good money. That's a change in the culture.

For tickling, you see it reflected in the number of studios that make their bones on custom work. Tickle Intensive who used to produce a ton of clips every years has reduced its public output significantly because they have more custom work then they can handle. Nyssa has been about in this thread offering up what models she'll be working with for customs, and many of those cam girls and OnlyFan girls will be happy to negotiate customs for the right price for a fan and supporter.

Porn keeps changing. And every time it does it 'looks' and 'feels' different. If you were a fan of a specific era that may mean that what you like simply is not around anymore. I used to love browsing Virgin Records in the 90's. I can't do that anymore. It's gone. And some ways that tickling porn looked and feels are equally gone. Technology, and culture have erased them.

Odds are, soon enough you'll have AI/SFX porn soon. Drop in a description of what you want, what look you want, and so forth, pay the fee's and *pop* out comes a piece of porn just for you. No humans involved (or perhaps you've licenced someones image that you like, and they get a small royalty if you are not using a cracked maker that ignores such) and once again, Porn will bee different. It will make that old "fake" vs "Real" argument a lot different for us I bet. It will all be fake, but faked so well you can't tell.

And people will be here talking about the days before the AI girls destroyed the market, and so forth and how it all sucks.

Porn is not, and will not die. It will keep changing.

Tickling porn also will not die. People will always be filming themselves and giving it away, getting what they can, or working for a handful of studio's that do customs that demand some filming and editing skill for those who want 'the real thing'.

Getting older is mostly about watching the world you know dying around you. If you last a long time, it almost all vanishes. But there is always new.

Myriads

It's my opinion not a "stance" and it wouldn't change depending on what's illegal or not in one country or another.
Some people just don't see the difference between porn and beauty.

For you it's always only porn and your mindset won't change.
To each their own. It's subjective

It’s porn. It may not be hardcore porn, but it soft porn.

If you think of it as porn when you see it or shoot it, then it's porn for you and you surely shoot porn. When a muslim sees any depiction of a woman with a visible face and hair, it's also like porn to him. So there's only one rule - think of it what you like to think. No one can change your mindset

Weird how you can only use adults and need proof that they're adults so you can post your fully-clothed non-porn on porn sites...

Exactly. Because if someone underaged were in these videos, it would be considered child pornography.

Nothing weird about it, here is why. Indeed the problem is that there is actually no other way to distribute tickle therapy videos (which aren't porn) other than on sites that also distribute porn. Exactly because of those with the mindset that anything with tickling is porn.
So of course for those sites the proof is needed, this is how it works.

We’re not saying all tickling is porn. You can tickle a friend or family member as a form of bonding. That isn’t porn. Even tickle challenges you see on YouTube, that’s not porn.

But bondage, nudity, the “torture” aspect and anything else that goes under bdsm is considered porn.

Why is not possible to distribute the videos on non-porn sites? If you view it as therapy, can't you distribute it on some new-age therapy site?

Sure posting the videos on porn sites they are going to be treated like porn. However, I am sure there is a significant number of amateur tickling videos on you tube that are not considered porn. Pretty sure anything with bondage is considered adult material, w/o tickling and w/o nudity. Many tickling videos could be considered porn because of the bondage even if w/o nudity.

We are not distributers and don't have time or resources to make up alternative ways of distribution so far. It's too complicated.
What we do and love doing is provide tickle therapy in our spa centre and share the beauty of tickle therapy in our videos with the needed support of the community.
This support helps us to promote tickle therapy and the benefits of tickling on other resources for free, like social media, websites and television.

Some of our videos have already been shown on federal tv channels, and these channels definitely don't broadcast pornography.
Restraining clients during tickle therapy sessions to make it easier to tickle them and ensure their safety doesn't make it bdsm. It's like on rollercoasters. But some people just won't see the difference ever, so it's no use to try to explain. Most get it right though.

Shy & Wild, Yaqi, Tickle Abuse and others have also been on TV. Would you not consider them porn just because they were on TV?

I have never seen any other form of therapy on porn sites either. The only types are happy endings and other things relating to porn. No matter how you try to spin it

Sorry, no offence meant, I don't mind if you consider what you shoot to be porn, or anything else. I absolutely don't make judgements about it. I'm not against porn. You do what you like and that's great!
But please don't make me explain simple things that you surprisingly don't get.

Tickle therapy has nothing to do with happy endings, as well as vibration stuff like in some other tickling companies.
Shy & Wild, Yaqi, Tickle Abuse have been on adult TV with adult content. They wouldn't have ever made it on federal TV channels in my country.
I really see no need for further argument.

I would like to think that both of us have said nothing offensive. We're just on a disagreement on what's porn and what isn't.

I mentioned TV because you did. Just because you're on TV doesn't mean it's not porn. The companies I mentioned were on the news, not porn channels. News was talking about our fetish.

You and I shoot similar content my guy. I've only shot one video topless and one with an Hitachi. Everything else is playful tickling. But I consider it porn. That's why I can't post any videos to YouTube without getting it declined. You're on here for a reason

It's just semantics - it's adult content at the end of the day. I don't like to use the word 'porn' when referring to basic fetish content - tickling, foot fetish with no graphic or sexual content as it has little in common with what most people consider to be porn. It's also useful to make a distinction between playful tickle scenes and more sexual content - e.g. tickling clips featuring open leg nudity, handjobs, blowjobs, forced orgasms etc which do fit the description of 'tickle porn'. All fetish content is adult content, but whist many models will be happy to do soft fetish scenes, a lot of them wouldn't do anything that they consider to be 'porn'. A model might do a balloon popping clip or some spanking, tickling, bdsm etc - even if they don't shoot topless content. Only a porn model will do a B/G scene or be forced to orgasm on camera.

I sometimes get requests for harder adult scenes with models that wouldn't shoot that stuff in a million years, and it's because many people don't realise that there's a distinction. If tickling is 'porn' then surely every model will do pornier content. It just doesn't work that way in reality.

Well said

It has become more difficult in recent years, but those who really enjoy it will always make content.
