Who is one Dodger that will have a breakout season in 2011?

My baseball predictions usually turn out not to be accurate, but if you insist I will make one. Chad Billingsley will break out to be a premier starting pitcher in 2011 (I hope). 😀

I'm with you on that. I like Billingsley. If he can develop nicely, and Kershaw keeps on track, the Dodgers should be able to contend in the NL West.

A curse upon the hated jints: May every one of their pitchers develop a torn rotator cuff. 😀

I saw their young stud Bumgarner play a minor league game out my way. He's going to be something special.

Sorry to hear that, since he is in the hated jints' farm system. 🙁

Hate to disappoint, but Bumgarner is a Giant. I don't know much about the Dodgers minor league system, but I'll look into it for you.

I've edited to correct my feelings about that young pitcher. Now I hope he develops a torn rotator cuff.

The main reason is they have been the bitter rivals of the Dodgers since 1890.

An important reason is that, under the direction of the traitor Leo Durocher, they cheated during the 1951 pennant race. They illegally stationed a player beyond the outfield fence with binoculars to read the opposing teams' catcher's signals and send them electronically back to their own dugout to be relayed to their hitters. Typical of the dirty, cheating baseball played under Durocher's thug leadership.

That is an axiom. The Dodgers represent all that is good, admirable, and noble. 😀

More concretely, they were the team that integrated MLB in the 20th century.

1. What are your thoughts on Barry Bonds?

2. Do fellow New Yorkers question your lack of loyalty to the NY baseball teams?

1. I despise him; of his own free will he signed as a free agent with the hated jints.

2. Yes. On October 9, 1988, it took the presence of police in Shea Stadium to keep me from being assaulted by Mets fans as I cheered the Dodgers during their 12-inning, come-from-behind, 5 to 4 victory over the Mets in game 4 of the NLCS.
