*edited for golden rule violations*I thought this site was owned by a group of people not just him but maybe I am wrong. Question is, does he pay for this site alone or are there others who foot the bill. If only he pays then I guess we have to deal with it.

For the MOST part if not entirely, HE foots the bill for the whole shabang. Donations are accepted however but it is Jeff who pays to piper so to speak.

Why don't all of you who feel this is a problem, take it to the suggestions and feed back thread? Vent there, I am sorry I do not see this being such a big deal. I have not had any problems at all.

Trashing Jeff isn't right! I don't know him but I feel some of you are too harsh on him. This is just my view.

you say you're not having any problems?
what most of us are experiencing is; we can't scroll past the ad, as we used to be able to do. we are forced to sit while it loads, and watch iths lady time, and time again! if it were like the old ads, where we could get past it, then it would be a who cares.
i'm happy for you, that you aren't stuck waiting for it to load, before going on.

Steve, I have no problem scrolling past it. I'm on a cable modem. Maybe that makes a difference? One suggestion, if it's really bugging you that much, would be to get an ad blocker. Then, it would block anything like that from loading. One warning though. Some add blockers tend to block out pics as well. So, it's a win/lose thing if you get one of them.

hi ann. i'm on a dsl myself. funny though, the tmf still loads slower on my dsl from home, than from my parents dialup in peoria!
i wouldn't care about the ad, but it doesn't let me get past it till i have had the full tongue shot. the other ads jeff has put up weren't that way. why is this different?
as i said in my first post to this thread, i was thinking of buying the video. shes attractive, with a great laugh. but now, no way, i'm sick of her! and jeffs refusal to fix the problem.

When we looked into getting DSL, they told us that the quality of the connection depended on the nearness to the main hookup on the street. In our case, since it ran from the far end of the condos to our unit before splitting, it added too much distance to be able to get it. Perhaps that may be part of the problem you're having.

, I've seen no response from him on the matter. It takes time to come up with ads. Maybe he's simply waiting for the development of a replacement. Or, he could simply be sick of all the bitching and moaning that people do at him for something HE pays for. In either case, though it may be a pain, I wouldn't got too worked up about it.

This is not about Jeff or who runs the TMF.

This is not about whether or not Ryan sounds like a man.

This is not about how cute Ryan is and how we'd like to tickle her.

This is not about ad-blockers or the speed of our ISP.

This is about the jingle...you know the one. If it's for your local car dealership, or local pizza joint. The one you see on TV, or hear on the radio. The one that you find yourself singing in your car, or at work, or in the shower. The Ryan picture is a jingle...an excellent form of advertising. I have seen it over six times just reading the replies to this thread. I am sure anyone who visits this forum on a regular basis has forever had the image of Ryan sticking her toungue out burnt into their psyche. That is the purpose of a jingle.

The difference is TV channels can easilly be flipped, and radios easilly muted. Also, the very same jingle is not on every radio and TV channel, every single time you turn to the channel.

Great advertising Jeff! It's in my mind more than "Where's the beef?". Mission accomplished. Time for a new ad campaign, please.

I'm with Rasputin, and I kinda like it myself 🙂 Sure, it was annoying the first day or two, but it's grown on me. It shows a defiant girl just asking you to try and tickle her. It looks like she's going to suck my weezer and my weezer grabbed a video camera as she came for him.

Umm... Jeff OWNS this place. He provides it for us, at his own expence. Suggesting someone else run it = suggesting killing the forum. Psycho founded it on ezboards, a very different environment. He also, unfortunately, began to live up to his name, but that's another story...

The issue with this ad is not whether Jeff can do what he pleases here. He can, end of story. The issue is whether it would be a) good for his business, and b) just a nice thing to do, to address something that is locking up people's computers and really bugging a lot of members here. I doubt this ad is winning him customers.

Those who have said "I can scroll right past it, so what are you complaining about?" are missing the point. Many of us CAN'T scroll past it -- the fact that you can does nothing for us whatsoever.

Yes, this matter is fairly trivial. But it isn't COMPLETELY trivial. This image shoots out at you on EVERY PAGE; every time you move ANYPLACE in the forum, there it is. It is genuinely irritating. I, personally, would really be grateful if it were removed.

I should add that none of Jeff's other ads has ever bothered me, and I rarely complain about anything here. Generally, when I don't like things here, I don't say anything... I can just go read another thread. But this is EVERYWHERE on the forum.
