I was sitting too close to the speakers when "Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival was played at high volume. Must have been around 1970.

What is one of your least favorite songs?
 
Cherish the Night (because my mom used to play it constantly when I was a kid).

What's your plans for Christmas Eve/Day?
 
On Christmas Eve, I will go to lunch with Goddess Shelly.
On Christmas Day, I will do what I always do on that day: Go to a movie and then eat Chinese food.

Will you do anything special on December 26th, which the British call Boxing Day?
 
I will work on Boxing Day this year.

What movie will you see on Christmas and what Chinese food will you order?
 
No, I normally l have 2 breaks I take. One for Christmas and work a couple days and one for New Year's and work a couple days but with Christmas/New Year's on a Wednesday makes it a little more difficult. I'm actually planning already to take off next year Christmas Week (the entire week) since it will fall on a Thursday nobody will want to work Friday and I enjoy having several days off leading up to Christmas. That is my plan/goal as of now and it's doable I believe the way everything will fall at work next year (we flipped payroll weeks etc).

What's the best and worst job you ever had?
 
The best job that I ever had was the last job that I had, being a faculty member and Associate Chairperson of the Mathematics Department at Fordham.

The worst job that I ever had was a summer job (at age 18), being a delivery man for Empire Carriers in Manhattan. It paid minimum wage and was hard physical labor.


What is one job that you wish you had had in your 20's?
 
I wish that I had been a math teacher in my 20s just to see if I would have stuck with it or not.

Who's your favorite athlete of all-time?
 
Clearly, Sandy Koufax.

What is one athlete who destroyed the chances of a team you rooted for (in one season)?
 
I'll go with a coach Rich Kotite...he was horrible and was 4-28 in 2 seasons with the Jets.

What's more important in sports offense or defense?
 
In baseball, it is defense. One top starting pitcher is more important than all 9 hitters on the other team.

In the NFL, which is more important, offense or defense?
 
Offense because I think the rules are now leaning towards helping the offense more.

What's the coldest temp you're ok with?
 
40°F is the coldest temperature that I'm OK with to go outdoors and be comfortable.

What is the coldest temperature that you have ever experienced?
 
-32F was the wind chill temperature on Valentine's Day several years ago and I went out running and I honestly didn't know if I'd make it back.

What's your favorite kind of fish?
 
Keep at close to ideal weight.

What is one thing you wish you could do in 2025, but it's not likely?
 
Win the lottery.

What's your least favorite holiday?
 
May Day because of its political associations.

How do you celebrate July 4th?
 
We have a BBQ and go to see the fireworks in my town.

Does 4th of July sound a zillion years away when we're in the dead of winter?
 
I predict 10 inches for you and 15 for me.

How much snow would you like to get in January?
 
Exactly zero inches.

Why do people live in places like Buffalo and Syracuse where huge snowfalls are common?
 
Because it's cheaper to live there I would assume and/or they get used to it and don't mind the weather.

What is the best thing about January?
 
That it begins with a holiday, January 1st.

What is the worst thing about January?
