Planet of Peculiar Peril, sci-fi role play/interactive story roster

I just made hime ex-space marine to give him a interesting background.
And allways armed doesnt necesary mean he runs around with BFG on his back, but he usually keeps a small handgun ready.

But since it´s your project I wont interfere if you dont want.

Now, if we can get a few people to sign up as inhabitants of the perilous planet our little crew'll definitely have an adventure on their hands.

Hopefully there'll be a few jumping at the chance to play the monster or alien with strange customs. I actually expected it to be the first thing to get claimed. Although I suppose if no one finds the prospect interesting, some of us could switch roles or even play more than one. Whatever gets the ball rolling.

I don't know... I'm curious, as it's been brought up before, but after all these months is there still interest in this idea?

And you understand what I was going for, right? Retro, atomic rocket-style space adventure?

Yeah. I'm down with the science fiction and all that.

Hmm, yea it was a while since this thread got any notice. I think it petered out because even though we had a solid cast on the rocket, we had no alien tickle villains. If the folks who were interested still are, one to a few people could take that role. Hell, I'd try to do it if it got the ball rolling. But I don't know if everyone's still game.

You need bad guys to balance it out? It just so happens that I make a really good villain! I'll be more than happy to take up that role should one be needed.

You guys know about it being 1950s style right? It's not like... the kinda stuff from "Mass Effect" and such. If you like the retro-ness, get it going, Vi-Vi loves it and she'll make it great!

Well that's garbage, Mass Effect was awesome.

Well yes, Mass Effect was awesome, but so was was Super Mario, and mushroom eating plumbers simply have no place here. I rather like campy black-and-white sci-fi. Back then, all a convincing alien species needed were some pointed ears or green skin, all sorts of outlanding devices could be used, and you could take 90 degree left turns in space. It was basically a western with jumpsuits and ray guns. Let us bask in our retro-futuristic nostalgia.

If you'd like, let us know what sort of "Ming the Merciless" we might be up against. 😉

And, everyone, feel free to jump in anytime. The story thread is right here and ready to go. http://www.tickletheater.com/showthread.php?t=66629

As I understand it:
Yes, the story involves tickling, but isn't monomaniacally focused on it. So, some character development and dialogue, then something ticklish this way comes, then some space to discuss and make decisions, and so on. I guess the point is to role play and give the players lots of choices, while still giving a healthy dose of tickling mayhem. The other players can also end up tickling each other somehow, I don't see a problem with that.

Vi can correct me if I'm off about any of this. Hope that helps you, Xeph.

Will those who aren't part of the exploration crew be lifeforms native to the world they're on?

They don't have to be, but that's certainly an option. They could be equally foreign to it and wanting to make the place their own or they could be indigenous life. It's all player's prerogative there.

My idea is that since my character's job is to conquer worlds to add to his empire, he could be looking to rule the unknown planet that the good guys are on. How does that sound?

That could indeed work. There might be some sort of valuable stuff there or some strategic importance the planet holds to him alone. Whatever the reason an interstellar warlord could make for a very effective villain here.

A strange, alien despot sounds cool. And that by no means shuts doors: there can always be natives to run into later, which may or may not cooperate with either side. It's all good.

Speaking of keeping doors open, if anyone reading this is thinking "gee, I wish I got in on that, it looks cool," you still can! We can write you in as if you were always a member of the crew or... the evil emperor's army? Newcomers are always welcome, point is to have fun and make something interesting.
