Would you believe that Badfinger's Pete Ham and Tom Evans wrote a song that would later become smash hits for both Harry Nilsson and Mariah Carey? Here is the original version of that song:

"Without You" (1972)

Both lead singer/guitarist Pete Ham and bassist/vocalist Tom Evans would later commit suicide. Pete Ham died on April 24, 1975, by hanging himself and on November 19, 1983, Tom Evans would die in the same manner. Drummer Mike Gibbins died in his sleep on October 4, 2005 which makes guitarist Joey Molland the last surviving member of the band.

Oh yeah love and saw the Badfinger ones before. Its a shame how they wound up two members hanging themselves as a result of bad management. "Now Matter What" is one of the best written power pop songs ever. I really wish there was more music like that around today. Long live Pete Hamm and Joey Mullholland!!
