Great work.

I recommend going for speed, for the time being, and not worrying about polish until later. It's definitely playable.

Feedback

Translation issues:
  • "Yumi raises his arms..." (should be "her arms")
  • "I" isn't consistently capitalized in several places.
  • "mama" isn't found in English the way it's found in Italian. You may want to replace it with an American/British/Aussie/whatever mannerism. "Oh, mama" should probably be something more like "Oh, man" or "Oh, no," depending on context.
  • In the Codex, "Amane's older sister" and "Misa's younger sister" uses quotation marks (") instead of apostrophes (').
  • Occasional clunky wording. Examples:
    • "There are mysteries, for which is not possible to give a logical explanation..."
    • "During October, the 5th day on the current year," (October is not the 5th day of any year. Is it supposed to be "October 5th, this year"?)
    • Lots of small grammatical errors—mostly dealing with punctuation—that don't especially detract from the game. E.g., "DIE SCOUNDREL!!!" not having a comma.

Bugs:
  • When talking to the maid in the inn, there's a different portrait for her for before and after you learn the skill from her. It's not the same girl, at all.
  • When visiting the Kraken in BPZ, her portrait stays up even when you're done interacting with her. It won't go away if you change maps, but will go away if you talk to another NPC with a portrait.
  • [spoilers](minor issue) The way the meditating girl in the swamp's events are coded mean that if the player still has lotion, but also used it on the beach girl, he can't use it on the swamp girl without editing flags. If it's possible to get more than one lotion, that could be an issue.[/spoilers]

You're going to have the be specific on the "oh mama" thing. I've kind of lost my page on where those are now.

The I is my own writing habit so I don't know where to go for that.

And as for grammar errors, you know what? It's not perfect and nobody is perfect. As long as it's readable and you can understand what is on the screen.

Will have to refer the bugs to Screamer because I'm just fixing up text.
 
Seeing as I only know how to curse in italian, I am grateful there is even partial English. Btw oh mama part seems cute to me, so don't fret around it 😛

EDIT:Can't find the problem with krekan....portrait should erase without issue....mmmmm, further investigation required!

I think i accomplished everything in the translation so far except for how to break the meditating girl. That one still has me stumped.
 
Oh i get it. Forgot. Kraken is still out of my league to beat. Which ofcourse means grinding time.

That being said, the temptation to download it now and play some of it before it's fully translated is getting harder and harder to resist :blush

Hey screamer. Mind telling me what level is good to face the kraken?
I tried at level 10 several times but she just cheap shots over and over.

Since leveling doesn't seem to scale attack or spirit(?) I think the problem is equipment, not level.

The BPZ Kraken bug can be reproduced by choosing "Allontanati." Using a different option or talking to another NPC clears the portrait.

"When [Info]" and "When [Solletico]" end with "Erase Picture 1", but "When [Allontanati]" doesn't. I think that's where the bug is coming from.

If you want something more specific than file names, let me know, and I can find more. I think doing a quick global replace in the text that swaps "i'm" for "I'm" will trivially fix most occurences, without you having to manually look.

As I mentioned, it's still totally playable and I'm very thankful that you're doing it. I didn't mean to criticize or discourage you; I was trying to help.

Yep. The bug reports are mostly meant for Screamer. If he fixes a bug and/or changes how flags are handled, I think that affects your translation files, since (unless I'm mistaken) you're editing events in the maps files, which are tied to the dialog. You and Screamer probably coordinate fixes like that via PM, but if it's here for both of you to see, I'm hoping it saves you a little work.

quick question, i used the exfoliating lotion on the girl with non-ticklish feet. Was i supposed to use it on the meditating girl???
