So, since you are not catholic - but just christian - you would be considered a misguided "heathen", thus Wrong.

What can you do about it? Nothing. You are Wrong by roman catholic book.

And still, you don't reply to the real question: what about making THIS life LESS miserable?

Good thought Kalamos. That difference between catholic/christian is forgotten.

Yes what is making that life less different ?
and : can you be a good catholic without going to church ?

Italy one point LOL

LOL@Kalamos and Alf

what does being Roman Catholic have to do with listening to something on the internet? you have Ears don't you? Just because he's Christian and NOT Roman Catholic you won't listen to him or at least check out his website even. thats being close minded i think. But whatever do what you wanna do.

Since he is not Catholic I feel he is Wrong.
How can he be Right? He is not Catholic.
If he's not Catholic then he is misguided, thus he is Wrong.

...

Or not? 😉

We won't get out of this interesting thread so quickly....... 🙂
By the way and a little off thread there was another scandalous film about christ that has maybe been forgotten : "The Last Christ Temptation" by Martin Scorsese !! That one made noise

Ah, the new Mel Gibson's movie will make a lot more.

Besides, what religion does Mr Gibson belong to?

Just from the trailers I could spot a couple of errors, like nailing the hands to the cross.

[As it seems, Christ was nailed by the wrists...]

Reg's guys. And don't ever nail your little siblings to poles. Tie them, so you can reposition them easily. 😉

Mel Gibson is Catholic

i think you of all people should have known that Kalamos with you being Roman Caltholic and all. Mel Gibson has said time and time again interview after interview that he is strong in his Catholic faith.

It's obvious no one is going to change their mind on this, and it's just going to be the same shit over and over, so why don't we just stop this now?

I think all there is to say, has been said already.

Mel says he is a Catholic and the last time I checked, Catholics believe in the divinity of Christ, which makes them Christians.

The Romans would crucify people by either driving nails through the wrists or hands. If the hands were nailed to the cross they would bind the wrists with rope to keep the hands from pulling loose from the nails.

kalamos, im not saying just because your not religious, your evil. some of the worse people i know are religious. im just saying, why toss away thousands of years of tradition because of a few out of control activist judges who have no business making up their own laws. why not let the people vote on this matter. thats the best way to do it. actually, a majority of gays dont even care about the marriage issue. its just a few radicals that love to stir up trouble.

Studies have shown hand ligamens and tendons can't bear the stress of nailing, so they probably nailed wrists.

...

Replies so far were quite off. My question, once again is: why care for afterlife if we can't make beforedeath less miserable?

...

And about christians and catholic: catholics ARE christians, while christians are NOT catholics.

"Generic" christians aren't recognized as such by catholic church - and in the past, roman church regarded them as "sects", not really true religions.

This is quite pointless, since original thread was on gay marriages, but I find it tell-tale, since some ppl seem to care more about rites and names, and not about concrete things.

...

But if you want me to behave like some of the previous posters, so be it: if you are not roman catholics, then you are Wrong. 😉

You are heathens, by catholic book, and I will not even bear to reply to your Foolish nonsense. 😉

How do you like it, now? Personally I don't like it at all, but, hey, you are "just" christians, not fully fledged catholics. 😉

So, if someone cares to step back, and maybe reason about things on a serene, common, basis, I'll gladly welcome any and all comments. 🙂

But if you'd rather keep on the "who's better" attitude, remember this: there is always someone better, older, more preminent or holy than you. 😛
😉 😉 😉

Again, with respect for all and malice towards nobody.

Are you serious?? The "Majority" of gays don't care about the marriage issue? Of COURSE the Majority of Gays care about the marriage issue, even if they are single or never plan on getting married--they care because they are being denied their rights. If wanting to have healthcare coverage for my partner, or if wanting to be able to visit her in the hospital if heaven forbid she's ever sick makes me a radical, or if maybe I want to put a ring on the girl's finger as a representation of my undying love and devotion to her, then I'm a radical...and I'm over it...
Land of the free and brave my ass...
Kalamos--YOU are my HERO!!!!

How do you know that we as Christians since me and gibby are Both '' Christians '' are Wrong Kalamos? and how do you know that your Roman Catholic faith is right?

and further more i still want you to listen to that darn site that i posted on a few pages down. Thats teached by Ravi Zachcious... i take that your too nervous or scared or whatever the case may be for you to even listen to it. im not asking you to write me a 350 page book after you listen to it

Some of us aren't into religious propaganda...I don't care about the religious aspect of this decision, as religion SHOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE be a part of the COURT'S decision...this should be decided by the people...the ones who will be directly, and indirectly affected by it...as there is a separation of church and state for a reason, I, in turn, find no reason to listen to a religious argument when it has no place in this issue!!!

I applaud everyone here, regardless of their opinion, for speaking their minds. This is a tough issue. And I also applaud everyone here for their varied religious beliefs--I say more power to you, whether you are Christian, Agnostic, Jewish, Muslim, whatever...just keep on loving people...that's all I care about in the long run...

Eh...we're not going to make everyone happy no mayyer how we resolve this. Can't we just try for some sort of middle ground? Here's my big solution...
Give gays (and straights for that matter) a way of being legally bound together (ie civil union) that would work for all legal issues such as insurance, taxes, birth or adoptions, etc etc etc. This way they have a way of gatting married and the word "marriage" isn't polluted in the eyes of the purists.
I asked my husband why they dont do this and he said it had been suggested but the gays arent happy enough with it. wahh! Can't someone back down a little here? Do we really need something ELSE to fight about? Honestly!

Well, they are about 1000 years of catholic tradition - and around 2000 counting those before schism too. If you add the 2000 years of jewish tradition, they sum up to 4 thousands on the whole.

They seem a lot, but really, they aren't. Humans have been around for a lot more. And pre-history can be dated back to around 10000 b.C. 🙂

Now, while I might look bent on fighting, I am not. 🙂
I'm just trying to be logical: you previously stated you are not religious.

If you are not, why do you care for a religion you don't belong to? And if you really care about it, why aren't you religious?

Culture and religion don't always coincide or mingle. I can understand you feel gay marriages don't belong to western culture, but any culture must change, if it wants to live on. When culture becomes stale, it eventually collapses.

Now, I don't particularly care about gay marriage, yet I don't usually accept religious taboos nor prejudices. I'm not implying I'm free of either, but I try to overcome my own faults. 😀

About having ppl vote about it: would you allow non-fetishists to vote on fetish matters? If you believe gays and fetishist are two worlds apart, think again. We both have a different lifestyle and we both are aroused by different thing from the mainstream. It is the same mechanism. Just our fetish is way more discreet than being gay - since you can't hide your same-sex mate when you go out for a walk! 😀

So, defacing tradition shouldn't be an issue, since tradition is strong enough. 😉
Defacing bible shouldn't either, since you aren't religious, so why ever care.

Really, I wouldn't marry a man, but I wouldn't force my views on other ppl - the same way I wouldn't like non-fetish ppl dictate on my [and I suppose yours]lifestyle. 🙂

I am a strait man that has (or I would like to belive that i have) a decent understanding of both the bible and american history. With everything taken into consideration the fact remains that the reason for not premiting gays to marry is based on the christain faith which should have no baring on todays law! (speration of church and state...hello)
Anyway, there are plenty of counties today that follow the words of Islam in their laws and it leads a very harsh way of life. For example, the punishment for drinking a beer in such a place is 80 lashes with a cane! Or if we wished to follow the old testement style law that was explained in exodus than we would have to kill gays with swords rather than prevent them from getting married. Personally I can't see Jesus killing anyone with a sword but thats just my take.

i just don't see President Bush signing a law to allow Gays to Marry each other. Because he is a christian and belives in Jesus Christ the omega the Anoited one (spelled right?) so if he really is a man of christ then he would know just like all of us christians in the world that marriage should be between a man and a women only. so Gay people can try to work around and come up with ways of letting the president pass a law that allows all states to make Gay marriages legal. But i just do not anytime soon see this happening (at least while Mr. Bush is the president) and there are also some Gays that DO NOT want Gay marriages to become a law anywho.

just a Question for you all. ok so if your telling me if Jesus christ came to you in a dream or vision and told you all about him and that he is really real and layed it all out that you need him in your Life and showed you the events they were to unfold in the coming years. What would you do? i mean serious what would you do? i don't want no stupid jokes or smart answers. i want the honest truth

I - personally - don't know a single bit about you or Gibby. 🙂

Being a baptized italian, I am catholic. And roman catholic church states it [her] is the foremost. Other "vanilla" christians are just mere sects.

Since you first put it on religious terms, I can do the same. Since my chuch is foremost and "best", I am Right.
And you are Wrong. Quite simple.

I don't think I'll listen to that Zachcious preacher - in the immediate times - for a couple of reasons: first, I'm a theist agnostic, so I don't care much for preachers. I might care for theology out of learning curiosity. Second, an american non-catholic preacher is really - with all due respect - second choice for me. 😉

Being agnostic doesn't clash with being catholic. I've been baptized, and as you know, it is for life. What I believe doesn't matter, from a religious point of view, since being baptized supercedes everything. I could ask for "in capitulo mortis" confession, repent, and my soul would be crystal clean when I'll meet the Boss. 😉

Fear... nervousness, now, no really: I don't think I will fear for my soul. Being agnostic I don't care much for deities. Being theist I generically hope the higher beings will be lenient with me, if they do ever care. Being catholic I can confess my sins before dying.

Being open-minded, I might listen to that preacher, if you think it will change my views - radically. I only wonder how much I will understand... some american accents aren't really Oxford school, if I may say so. 😉 😉 😉

Oh, and best regards to your father.
I'll happily have a chat with him, telling why I feel my Church is better than his. 😀 😀 😀

I dreamt of Death. And Death came. And nobody believed me when I related my dreams.

If Mr Jesus came and told me "I care for you and I'll always do" it would something nice, for a change.

You can believe me. Or you can just quote scriptures and hope they will suffice when our time will come.

you should not Fear Death if you have LIFE but you should Fear Death if you don't

and i think you know where i stand and what i mean by that kalamos🙂

I don't fear death - nor I said I do.
Death came and took away persons I cared about.

I shouldn't tell you, on a public forum, such a personal fact.
But I wanted to test your mettle...

Your reply tells a lot about you and your beliefs.

...

And once again, you failed to comment on my previous question. This thread is just becoming a personal fight.

A fight on beliefs, rather than on real needs - such as the need for gay couples to get recognition for their rights.

Would someone reply on real questions, for a change, rather than quote centuries old books and telling us what God thinks?

Most here ARE tickle-fetishists. This is an adult forum, offering erotic contents. Yet, I see observing christians telling us what is Right and what is Wrong.

Something is quite odd, here: is this an adult forum - or are we game for preachers?

BBR, do you know you are sinning by just coming to this site?

Are you aware that onanism is considered Foolish or even downright Wrong by many christians?

Why are you here, on Tickle Theater?
Is it just for the company?

What about belly buttons? Don't they rock?

Point - in the Roman Catholic church isn't it only the Pope that can be right? He is infallible on matters of the scripture.

Point - Being agnostic definitely clashes with Roman Catholic teaching. Being baptized doesn't guarantee that you will get into heaven. Doesn't the Roman Catholic church teach that confessing your sins, repenting and believing that Jesus Christ is Lord is the how you get to heaven?

The "preacher" that BBR wants you to listen to is from India and speaks english very well and usually slowly so you should be able to understand him.

BTW you are a very talented artist. I appreciate your point of view and I believe you express yourself very well. 🙂
