I hope people don't mind me starting a new thread about this, but, as the other thread discussing the last storm seems to be filling up, I thought I would start another one discussing the upcoming expected storm.
According to Weather.com, the first flakes are expected to fall here in Lancaster at about 3pm Tuesday afternoon. It is then expected to snow all night Tuesday night, and all day on Wednesday.
For most of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the weather map on Weather.com, is shaded in the same medium white, as it was for the last storm. For the Friday-Saturday storm, my area was shaded in medium white, and, as we know, we received two feet of snow here in Lancaster.
For the next storm, the area near New York City is shaded in brightest white, which could mean the "heaviest snow".
As we've discussed before, the Weather Channel usually will not commit to accumulation expectations of snow, until an actual Watch, or Advisory, is issued some 24 or more hours before. My guess: If the forecast hokls as it seems to be developing, a Winter Storm Watch will be issued some time tomorrow for the areas expected to be hit by the storm, including Lancaster, NYC, etc.
If the snow does come as forecast, it will be interesting to see just how large a storm it is.
Here we go... AGAIN!
