[Text-based RPG] The Supreme Element

As for the glitch, I've only seen it occur with the dessert raiders.

Thanks! People have seen it happening with Amazons and other enemies, too, though. Somewhere, a variable used to track some stat is going haywire. Oh well, maybe I'll figure it out someday 🙂

... One problem with coming back to a game after awhile, thinking you've forgotten something! XD I finally got to the desert, found a note I tickled off of some chick, then proceeded to die multiple times thinking I could find something in the desert.

Really kool game! But i am struggling, new to text based rpg's. How do i get the barmaids quest? And i am struggling to find the noble womans contact...

I understand, these games are a lost art 🙂 I would suggest reading the manual, in the section about communicating with NPCs. Take a look at the ways to communicate: the ways you're interested are "talk" and "ask". In particular, the barmaid mentioned you should "ask" her about something, didn't she? Use the syntax mentioned in the manual. Once you figure out how to get these quests done, it will really help with the rest of the game 🙂

The problem is i have tried asking her lots of different things, and i can't figure out what to ask her. I am aware it's probably very obvious, I will have another go when I get back to work! 🙂

I have to say this game makes me want to jump on the bandwagon and make my own one...

Do you think enough time has past for you to tell us where the figurines are? I can't for the life of me find the last two.

My two final guesses for the last figurine (just found the lapis one).
1: Something to do with the pool in the palace.
2. Something to do with the basin in the palace.

Anyone mind giving me a hand with the desert? I can't for the life of me think what I'm meant to do and have been wondering around aimlessly for yonks.

The desert only has one place of value. (I think)
Enter the desert, then go 12 steps south and 7 steps west. If you didn't screw up with counting the steps, you should arrive at the oasis. Grab what you can, and bolt back the same way you came. This time 7 steps east and 12 steps north.

Thanks bud! So there's no hidden den of thieves or such? Just the figurine? Sooo.... I've wasted all this time for nought

The hidden place of thieves is back in the mountains ^^

Where you find the random raider looking around, pick up her note and talk to the guards in town (The guard post where two guards are having happy-fun-time with a captured raider) and ask them if they can translate it.
You should be able to show the note to the guard at the reception.

Just reached the riverbank, pretty fun game so far. Been a long time since i've played a text adventure.

Having to draw my own maps sure brings back memories.

Glad to see people are still playing!

Soviet Potato: Sorry, I've personally decided to keep figurine locations a secret, but I have no objections to other people in the community revealing them. Yeah, it's arbitrary, but as the game designer I get to do that 😛

TickleWizard: Technically, you were supposed to discover a (hidden) clue in the Raider base that told you where to go in the desert. But I guess the secret's out now!

dentrag123: I have fond memories of those days too! I hope you enjoy the rest of it!

..... Have not found the Raider Base! XD At least, not to my knowledge... had to take a break from the game ages back.

I've forgotten where I found most of the figurines.. 😵
One was in a tree trunk in the first forest, one was buried in the riverbank, one was in the cauldron in the amazon village... And... Oh right! Desert! Oasis and such!

Yar har!

Also.. If I'm not mistaken, I've found (with the help and cooperation of a few people) everything in the game. So if anyone needs help on how to proceed, or is unsure of what to do/what to look for, just message me. I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.. But I'm often working hard, or hardly working XD

found a glitch. In the western storage room of the amazon fortress (reached by going n,w,w,w from the fortress entrance), the description says the only exit is to the west, when in fact it is to the east.

Also, I am misunderstanding the armour class stat, or is equipment that does nothing but increase AC useless?

Good catch, sorry about that! And as for Armor Class, lower AC is always good. Nearly all armor lowers your AC, but a couple raise it. And yes, raising your Armor Class is a bad thing (but those pieces of armor have status trade-offs).

Just beat it, you did a great job. Found all the keys, completed all quests (as far as I know, pretty sure I found them all), figured out what the nest was for, and found the invisible thief, though I only found two figurines, and never solved the mountain altar.

Ok, so I started playing all over again because why not. Try as I might, two quests still elude me to this day: the invisible thief and the figurines. I have ZERO clue where the thief is. Also, I can only ever find the jade and onyx figurines. Has anyone ever found all of these things? Can you help a struggling brother out or at least give me some hints?

There is one figurine in the trunk of a tree in the woods, one in the fountain in the second town (i think.. Was a while ago.), one in the cauldron in the amazon village, and the last one is in the desert. You have to find the oasis. A hint on how to reach the oasis is in a book in the raiders base. Or wait... Was there five? There one buried at the riverbank near the abandoned house. Brainfreeze.

The invisible thief is inside the windmill. You also need the item that reveals invisible things.
