the "baseball only" thread

the Cubs will make it two in a row over the Dodgers tonight, as we have our ace Carlos Zambrano pitching tonight 😀

Umm, the Red Sox are banged up too, buddy, and David Wells isn't shutting lineups down btw

True, but the Red Sox get healthier by the day and have better utility players than most teams. Which is why they won tonight 5-1 :bouncybou

The Dodgers need to win a lot of games on their current long homestand. 😀

I hope the Dodgers win all the games that I will see in Dodger Stadium. 😀

I definately understand. Can you believe the Yankees lost to the Royals 5-3 tonight? That is Kansas City's 14th win of the year. :jester:

I hope the Royals can take 2 out of 3 and I will be highly impressed if they sweep:wow:

Easy. One game at a time. They won one game. Now you want a sweep? Let's see what they do tomorrow. :triangle:

I hope the Phillies can sweep the hated jints. 😀

PS: You changed IMG to /IMG as needed, but you removed the brackets [ ]
Put the brackets [ ] back, with no spaces separating them from the /IMG on either side.

For the record, I always want the yankees to be swept.😛

But I will deal one game at a time :rotate:

My Atlanta Braves are in a slump, having dropped their fourth game in their last five, last night in Washington to the Nationals. In spite of this, they are lucky to be only percentage points out of first in the NL East. That division could be very interesting all year, with only 3 1-2 games seperating top from bottom. I do hope they pick it up soon, and get a decent division lead, because this mediocre play they've been having lately is boring!

Last Night, the Mets were buried by the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-0. The Mets left 7 seven men on base in the first 3 innings including 5 men in scoring position with less than 2 out. The listless bats included Carlos Beltran , Mike Piazza , Cliff Floyd and Doug Mientkiewicz who left small colonies of runners on base all night long. Craig Counsell( 3 for 5 with 2 RBI )and Jose Cruz Jr (a 2 run homerun in the first inning ) were the hitting stars and Brad Halsey ( a former Yankees farm hand ) helped Arizona come to New York and spank the Mets. For the Mets that is 2 straight loses and and 7 loses in their last 11 games. The Mets now drop to 4th place( behind the Washington Nationals ) and trial the Marlins and Braves by 2.5 games.

The Dodgers got exactly one hit in last night's 10-inning loss. :Grrr: :Grrr:

aww, that's too bad. I told you when my ace is on, there will be no hits. Well, looks like we are about to sweep. Now where is that broom???..... 😛

I will be polite, and not tell you what to do with that broom. 😀

Well, I have a pretty good feeling what you're thinking, and it sounds rather painful 😀

The Cubs need to lose tonight, and then start a new winning streak tomorrow. 😀

No, they need to keep winning, so they will have momentum to beat the Pondscum 😛 😀

The game tonight will be on ESPN, so you'll be able to watch it

I will begin watching it, and whether I keep watching will depend on how it goes. 😀

That would include a late game by the Blue Jays in Seattle. 😀
