That's quite a compliment, dude. To hear that it entertains is one thing. Being inspiring is something else. n_n Thanks!
Yay!!!! Sammi starts a new comic story! Something I've long hoped to see, and patience pays off huge when the results are this terrific! Electric (literally! Just scope out those leaping violet arcs in the opening splash panel!) art style, filled with alert, no-nonsense character design... brooding, shadowy brickwork... raked angles and extreme foreground elements so necessary to the tone this noirish tale demands! Expert, the way that images are allowed to advance the plot! The way that Eryn is introduced through her portrait, suggesting that she soon may be MIA (reminiscent of the film, Laura); a subsequent panel revealing the true "best-friends" nature of the image, which deepens the pending sense of loss and anxiety; the kidnapping, achieved through a string of tight close-ups, the mysterious attacker all but unseen; Sammi's own abduction, viewed through the fog of fainting first-person perspective, a canny devise you're claiming uniquely as your own! The characters are distinctive and well tricked out to exemplify their natures: Jimmy's hard-boiled faux-detective is a special hoot!; Kristen, aerodynamically trim as the efficient teckie; the harliquinesque baddie, entirely intimidating, the jolly, rose-cheeked disguise a potent contrast to the uttered threats! Dialogue is crisply efficient and ably propels the action. And the fetish quotient, while generous, is wisely deferred until the players are firmly established and the plot well underway! No effort has been spared to enthrall the reader and whet his appetite for further details! Your investment of time and creativity has been thoroughly vindicated, Sammi! "The Cult of Avo' Dromus" has the makings of a true tickling classic!
Can I quote you on that review, sir?
😉 I'm glad you think the waiting paid off. I think between the holidays and April when I began this comic I tried to refine my anime style twice and started a failed comic attempt each time. But this, thanks to the inspiration I got from your Low Roads, proved to be an idea that kept me coming back and working hard to get right. If we're lucky, the wait for chapter two won't be as long. It's really good to know that my pacing was steady enough and my dialogue and plot movement made sense. I was a bit scared things would move too fast and seem understated, but I didn't feel a need to dwell when I thought it needed to seem more urgent. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. n_n
Wow, this is amazing... Just...Wow...
o.o
*cough* U-um anyways. it's amazing to see you progress. Every new piece you give is just another step you've taken in your art skills! Not quite sure how you're advancing so fast, but man- Not to sound cliche but: You go girl!
lol well done Sammi- eagerly awaiting the next piece you do 🙂
I'm not sure how I make this progress either, but I'm not complaining. n_n;; I figure the last chapter is going to look entirely different from chapter one. I'm glad to hear you liked this one, dude.
😀
uhhh.....that is the most creepy clown ever...or mime...or joker....something...
I think it will be a good story.
....I wish I had my ingenious wit with me at all times but right now i'm running on fumes. So i'll just drop the score.
5 "woosh"s out of 5.
It worked then! Creepy was my goal with our villain here. Thanks for the score, dude. Get some rest and recharge that wit.
😉
Fantastically done heir Captain!!!
I find there are a lot of similarities to an XBOX game called "Still Life" with your comic, well the villain anyway. In the game, the protagonists hunt down a serial killer who wears a tux and cape with a top hat and a silver, troubadour-like face mask. The only difference was that when the serial killer in the game murdered someone, he portrayed the murders as extraordinary pieces of art... but I digress.
I also like the new look of your style and the flow with which your comic is going. I find it has a lick of suspense before getting in to the obviously coming tk action. I do admire the position you put yourself in, tied on ladder rungs = very nice. There was one thing I noticed, which you appeared to rectify in the last page was the arches of your character's feet. The second to last page lacks them, where perhaps they could be used to identify a specific area of the feather's stroke, but they appear in the last page with the feather between the toes. A very minor critique when all is said and done though. All in all, a fantastic teaser leading to a fantastic read when it's done.
I'm sure the Darth would agree that this teaser is and the comic will be
Impressive, Most Impressive
😀😀😀😀😀
I had no idea there was a similarity there. That's what I get for not owning an X-Box. n_n;; Good to hear you liked the pace and style of this comic. And yeah, feet are hard as crap to draw. I'm glad I'm finally getting the hang of it. Not being able to draw them will murder a tickling artist's career. But, it's great to hear that it was so "impressive."
😉
Y....I have only but two words for this, "Holy shit!"
Yeah I felt my chest, and my heart is still racing. You've definately improved a crazy amount, your style is more cleaner, and is very awesome. I can't wait to see more. I finally have another comic besides the low roads to read.
=) Yayness.

Good two words!
😀 Nice to hear that so many have noticed improvement in my art. I'll try to keep you supplied with this new comic.
😉
well done!! it looks great! :ayyy:
Thanks, kiddo! Glad ya like it. n_n
You are very talented.
Keep up the good work kiddo😉
Thank you much.
🙂 I totally plan to keep it up.
Nice work!
I really feel that the villain design is outstanding and you did a great job with the panel layout for the comic. "Sammi-chan" is adorable and seems to become more so as you evolve your style.
I look forward to the continuation of this series.
Bravo!

It was tricky at times finding a panel layout that wasn't boring, but left me with frames I could work with, so I'm happy to know that they worked out. n_n And thanks for the compliments on the character designs.
😀
Hoorah! A New adventure for 'ya' Sammi-chan & it looks like a 1980's anime-comic!
I loved that trapped position you're in & that meanie tickling your feet. ^o^
Who will rescue you?
WOOT! 1980s! Best decade ever. I was actually looking to 80s and 90s cartoons for a lot of my artistic inspiration.
😉 Thanks, kiddo.
