The Enigma Thread

I never had an I-Phone FYI...only Smartphone.
 
Well Kurch I was getting free phones from my brother for a long time he's IT and got smartphones like a year or 2 old...but like in brand new condition. But he stopped getting them so I finally invested in a brand new smart phone in the fall. I don't regret it. I got the best protective case available for it and I hope to get several years of usage out of it.

Wow that's pretty cool.

I just got a Samsung A20 like 5 years ago. Still using the same phone. Hard for me to switch to a new phone since I don't see well.
 
I remember not crazy long ago when Verizon would give you a free phone every 2 years...that's long gone now lol.
 
And that's when phones cost probably $400-$500 now it's double/triple. Ahh well...I told Mils this but I've been the last several years filling up my 401K piling money into it and thankfully I'm able to do that. Nobody gives you a pension anymore other than teachers or government jobs so you gotta make your own pension.

Yea no more pensions anymore for regular jobs. :cry1: such a shame they don't reward hard work anymore.
 
My enigma is when will the cold winter ease up on us?

Mostly in the private sector these days, you will only get a pension if you fund it yourself by taking money out of each paycheck and putting it into some tax deferred plan.

Dad got a pension. He worked for the community colleges though. Was a Union job.

Places where I worked didn't even offer the option.

Where I worked, it was a condition of employment that you allowed 5% of your gross pay to go into a tax-deferred pension plan. Even better, they matched your contribution every paycheck.

Yea those are pretty good deals. Never was lucky to get in on one though. Oh well.
