The Enigma Thread

I used to call the time period from December 26th to February 28th the "Winter Doldrums" my least favorite time of year by far and March 1 the day of hope...with spring coming etc. So I never rush time anymore because it goes too fast but I have to say my least 2 favorite months of the year by far I will not miss so much.

It's good that the winter doldrums are over as of midnight tonight.

Spring is my favorite season of the year. Best 3 months in my humble opinion

Astronomical spring is less than three weeks away. When spring weather will arrive is a matter of conjecture. 😕

One of those blizzards was on April 9, 2006. I had tickets to a Dodger game in Shea Stadium for that day. I woke up and saw nothing but blowing snowflakes blocking all sights from my window. With 8 inches of snow on the field, the game was snowed out and replayed months later as part of a doubleheader.

Wow. In my lifetime here in southern California it has only snowed twice. Both times it only lasted 5 minutes and melted right away. No snowmen from that lol ⛄

Yes, L.A. would be a desert if not for the water piped in from the Colorado River. Too warm for snow and not many days with precipitation per year.

We did great water wise last year. Lots of rain. This year not so good.

I hope it warms up again here.
It went from the 60's yesterday afternoon ☀️ to the 20's overnight. :shivering:

Summers can be brutal here as well. Sometimes it is over 90°F and humid.
So, some people say that only half of spring and one-third of fall are decent here.

Yea it does get warm there. My Dad was from the Bronx originally.

Last summer it was over a 100 here for months. At the peak it was like 110 to 117. Brutal. Most likely led to a lot of the fire trouble. Lots of rain in winter lots of plant growth. lots heat in summer. lots of dead dry vegetation.... course add some dumb government people as well and poof you got a disaster.

A much better analysis of the disastrous fires than I got from the news media.
