Yes, it is tedious and sometimes unpleasant to have appointments with doctors, nurse practitioners, and the like.

Since they took away my caregiver ...it is a lot harder. Have to reschedule eye injections cause I can't find anyone to take me.

Yea I was suppose to see a Urologist. Called in January..earliest appointment is in August. Lol

That is why here in the city there are Urgent Care Centers. You can just walk in and be seen usually within an hour, always the same day. The catch is you don't know whether you will be seen by an MD, a nurse practitioner, or a physician's assistant. Also, if you go back for the same condition a few days later, there is no guarantee that you will see the same person. They accept almost any kind of insurance, including Medicare.

I have. They can't replace a visit to a specialist (such as a dermatologist or a urologist), but they are great for an abrasion, or a cut that you think might require a stitch or two.

Sounds like something between a doctor visit and an emergency room. Which can be pretty useful I think.

Likewise, I only went to the emergency room once for myself. It was in the summer of 1968. I badly cut the fourth finger of my left hand while cutting salami with my right hand. It required two stitches. [pause] I just looked at the scar on my finger. It is a pale white scar and I have to look closely in good light to see it at all.

Glad they fixed your finger up. One of the times i went was for a cut on my right foot.
