I agree with the parent thing from Kurchiecakes point of view. Parents are nosey! I don't think I would tell my parents if I were making a trip to Michigan for a party because I would get the third degree.

I know that Nemmy might be scared to travel alone. Perhaps there is someone not going to Bella's that you trust that you could give your travel info to.

I live without my parents. My relationship with them is strained. So I do envy you and Nemmy and your family dilemmas.

You will feel ok when you get there if someone is picking you up at the airport and looking out for you. That should be a condition of you going: having the veterans making you feel cared about. I know you are quite sophisticated for your age, and extremely intelligent. Traveling alone is scary, though, so I feel for ya.

Yeah, I still live at home with my parents so I understand what you mean when it comes to parents. I'm sure my parents will ask me a lot of questions, but I don't know, I just feel better if they knew where I'll be in case of an emergency. If I got hurt or robbed or something.

Oh, and Bella's Bash is in Ohio in November. Michigan gathering is at the end of September. I still plan on trying to go to Bella's, but I think I can swing going to Michigan too. 😀

I know I'm far from the perfect daughter. I have certainly made mistakes, but thankfully, my parents have been there to help me out after I've screwed up. 😀

I see your perspective. Perhaps it's best to be safe and honest with them. You having that safety net is such a gift. I want you to be safe away from the party, and being in a strange place is probably fine, but that extra back up of mom and dad is a blessing. I didn't mean to just throw my opinion around knowing nothing of your situation and plans.

I do appreciate your opinion, hon. I understand what you mean about how nosy parents can be.

The gathering will be held Sept. 24 thru 26 so I have some time before I have to tell my parents about it. I won't be telling them the exact reason for the gathering, but possibly something along the lines that it's a party thrown together as a safe way for online friends to meet.
