Hey! We can pretend we're at the beach and bury someone in the snow instead of in the sand. I'm sure it would be much easier to get out of one's nooks and crannies! lol

Current forecast is for highs in the 20s this weekend. We also need to keep an eye on the storm heading this way. It looks as though it's going to stay south of us. But, we'll be watching anyway.
 
I can't wait for this weekend. We had a slight change in plans and won't be getting in until Friday but I am super excited to see everyone. Some make this week go faster please!!!!

If anyone is flying in to Albany International Airport, taking a train/bus to the Albany-Rensselaer Train Station, or busing it to the Greyhound station in Albany, I may be able to provide pickup if you don't have it already. Avoid taxis like the plague in the Capital District; they cost a fortune and tend (in my limited experience) to arrive late. I won't be able to take anyone back when they leave, unfortunately (unless someone is leaving Sunday). If you know you're arriving at the same time as other folks, get together and I'll get the lot of you to the hotel.

As others have said, dress warmly. Even if you plan on being outside just long enough to go from car to hotel, it's still a chilly place.
 
Ummm... I'm flying in at 3ish on Friday and I'm renting a car. Going back Sunday same time. So anyway who wants to carpool, I'd be happy to give a lift, too. I'll have my GPS...
 
So... I think I'm coming, as long as I can find a means to get there within the next couple days. I don't trust my car to make a 10 hour trip in both directions, so is there anyone driving through Ohio that would like a travel companion to help out with gas money and to play driving games with? And if not, who wants to pick me up/drop me off from the Amtrak station???? It's only 15 minutes from the hotel. :turtle:

As I said a bit back, if anyone needs a lift from the rail station I can do that, depending on what time you arrive. Getting you back is harder, unless you leave before Monday, but I am sure we can wrangle someone to drop you off.
 
We will find a way to get you from the station and back again if you let us know arrival and departure times...

Thank you, and thank you Venray for offering to help! I've got the arrival trip taken care of, but the departure plans are still up in the air. Like you say, that might be a little tricky because that train leaves at 7:05 PM Monday, and I can see how that will be a problem for most people because I assume checkout is much, much earlier. I might just have to be dropped off there early, and hang out at the station for several hours, which wouldn't be the end of the world. I'm bringing books.

This is going to be an awesome demo folks. Even if you do not bring your own rope it will be a learning experience..

There's also a mall nearby with excellent bus service in the area (last I knew). If someone has a chance to do some checking of schedules, you can probably work out hanging at the mall and then take a local bus on over to the train station.

7 PM is late enough that I can swing by after school and take you there. I can't be around Monday, but my last class is at 4, so I can help you there.
