Here is my take on the game.
I think Ramierez is a bigger asshole than any of them. He was looking for a reason to start something. anything at all. That pitch was NO WHERE NEAR his head, it was high, yes. inside, maybe a little but no where near a brushback. Look at the top of the inning when Pedro hit Garcia. A foot higher would have hit him in the head. Manny is an arrogant jerk who would be hanging out on the street doing crack if he wasn't in the game.
As far as Pedro goes, it's hard for me to say being that I played sports and the intensity and emotion can get pretty damn hot on the field when the stakes are up. Add a heated rivalry into the mix and you have the makings of a war. Still, I think that there is any excuse for a 30 year old man to throw a 72 year old man on the ground like that. Maybe you put your arms around the guy to TRY to calm him down. Maybe I am a little biased cuz I'm rooting for the Yankees but Zimmer was lucky something worse didn't happen to him. BTW, I don't know If you know this or not, but as we speak , he is in the hospital getting tests done. One could only hope for the best.
I give Clemens all the credit in the world for not losing his cool and putting his team first. It's sooo hard when all the aformentioned ingredients are present. Clemens was LIGHTS OUT after that incident. The Yanks rose to the occasion.
Another thing, Ladies and Gentlemen, do you think that Pedro was telling Garcia to use his head when he was pointing to his head after his take out slide on Todd Walker?? I don't think so!!
