The fact is that we DON'T know 100%. The mods do all they can to keep teens out. It's stated on the entrance page that they are not supposed to be here. But, it's impossible to keep everyone out. One of the reasons for this new site is to give them an alternative. If they're coming here, they obviously want to explore the topic. With another place provided where they can do that, we may have more success in keeping them out of this one. All we can do is try.

We don't know that, as has been shown quite clearly. However, many have been "weeded" out over the past year when they show themselves to be minors. What this site is designed to do is give teens who want to learn about their sexuality in a more age appropriate setting a place to go.

Oh I absolutely agree. You guys are definitely doing a good thing, I'm totally on board with it. I'm just throwing out ideas as they come. I'll confess to a mild curiosity as to how kids are going to explore their sexuality without any social interaction. Though come to think of it, a lack of social interaction never stopped me from exploring my sexuality as a teen. 😛 But the reasons for not providing that interaction are clear and they seem reasonable to me, if a tad unfortunate.

a site for minors

I have just begun perusing the site and I applaud all those who saw fit to make it so.

I have been approached by so many teens who have had questions about tickling and if that makes them "weird". It's great that there is finally a place to send them for more help than I might be able to give.

I would like to offer my assistance in any area you see fit. I am a teacher and guidance counselor by trade and might be of help for any youngster that needs some objective advice about continuing their education and career choices. Let me know if there is something I can do to help 🙂

ideas for improvement

The idea itself is truly a great one, congratulations to whoever brought it up.

Maybe one suggestion for improvement: The site seems to be too text-heavy. Teens tend to become bored by longer texts, and they'll look for more graphic contents on the web soon. To keep their interest aroused, the site should be more diverse in graphics (colors, frames, possibly a few witty illustrations like our forum smileys).

Just a theoretic piece of advice from a marketing man... (I'm an absolute zero in graphics myself) 😎

Though I love the site so far, Hal does make a point. Maybe rather than having all that text anchor-linked, it should link to separate pages... just a thought !

As for graphics..the idea was to set up the front page as is and graphics for the links pages are being designed..Tracy wanted this to be a quick turnaround from when Jeff approached us until launch time, so the other graphics are on hold for the time being...

We looked into that, but the problem is that we would have to have mods almost around the clock to keep things straight..not an easy task..so for now, we have decided that the way to go is without...🙂

Probably the closest we'd come is letting people e-mail us with questions and posting them along with the answers when we think appropriate.

I hate to be a partypooper but I think anything involving minors and even the hint of anything sexual is asking for a whole lot of trouble. Unless you have a bunch of lawyers and a superunderstanding of the laws I wouldn't touch this with a 10 ft. pole. My suggestion is too drop the whole ideal. This forum is great and the people who run it are really nice I would hate to see anyone get in trouble.

Having gone through, and peeked at the site, I must say that it looks very thoughtful and well done, and that those involved should be commended for their efforts to promote self-understanding for potentially confused and hurting youngsters. 🙂

That said, however, I must agree with Kurchatovium that an enterprise such as this, despite the wonderful intentions of those involved, has a very high probability of ending badly for all involved. Personally, if I had kids, I would not have a problem with them viewing this site... But that opinion is biased significantly by my knowledge of this community and my high opinion of all of the individuals involved in the creation of www.ticklishsubject.com.

If I were not a member of this community, and I discovered my child perusing a site intended for the dissemination of information about sexual practices of ANY nature to minors, I would be highly alarmed, to say the very least. This is one of those areas in which many people have VERY strong opinions, as is evidenced by the fact that in many areas, parents must sign a permission slip allowing their child to attend sexual education classes which are conducted by the local school system, which is an official government entity. If such degree of caution is required by the personnel at a school, with whom the parents of most students should be familiar... It does not bode well for the distribution of similar material anonymously over the internet.

My advice, which I am loathe to give because I KNOW that this enterprise is being undertaken with only the very best of intentions, is to shut the site down. Although most of those involved probably don't "know" me all too well, I know all of you, both by reputation and through your contributions on this forum, and I like you all far too much not to attempt to sway you from a course of action which, IMO, may well end disastrously. 🙁

If you choose to continue with the site, please, PLEASE at least cover yourselves somewhat by placing a "notice" page at the entry to the site, stating that it is not to be accessed by anyone under the age of 18 without the explicit permission of their parent/guardian.

I will only say this one more time..LOL😉 (yeah Right)..

We have no legal liabilities here as we are not soliciting new members for an adult site, rather we are setting up links to sites that will better suit the needs of minors. No interaction will be taking place.

It's like saying you can hold the boy scouts liable for teaching kids to tie knots and one of them uses the techniques in a bondage scenario....

Go through and LOOK at the sites that it links to...all very respectable well known..porn free links...

nuff said..I shall respond to the legal issues no more...😀 though I do appreciate the concerns...
