Tormented Soles - A Tickling RPG (Roleplaying Thread)

Not open for further replies.
Hey, Hue, I hope you meant "players". 😉
Florida's fantasy equivalent isn't meant to be discovered yet. 😀

-> Reminder for all.

Ok, let's get throught the boring stuff again. 😀

The setting is Parallel Earth.

Approximate age is 500-1000 AD. Approximate because we have non-human races and magic, so actual history and technology are different.
Calendar is different too.

Location is Constantinople's fantasy's equivalent. We can have just about anything in here, because it is the center of the known world. This should really help players with unusual chars. 🙂

Contact with far east should be limited, so if your chars come from an eastern culture, please post a *decent* reason to be here/there. 😀
I've posted several tidbits about the Morean Empire: it is mostly inhabited by Elves, Humans and Reptile/Dragon Men.
Other races [Dark Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Simians, are of course allowed and encouraged - *if* they have a good reason to leave their ancestral lands] 😉

Also, please remember that bearing arms withing the city is *forbidded*.
Most locals take a dim view on those who flash their weapons readily, and security level is *high*.

Local authority doesn't want free-lancing warriors to roam about, so, please, keep the number of fighting chars down.
Especially NPC warriors should be far and few: this isn't your typical fantasy hamlet where the average merc goes about with 50 lbs of forged metal on his back. 😉

Subtle is the word, and since people rarely bear arms anyway - guards do, citizens don't - you don't really need to bring that two handed heirloom of yours around, during your daily business. 😉

Also, keep in mind magic level is *low* and, in particular, low-key.

I know it is a bit boring, if you are accostumed to video-role-playing-games.
But this is a plot-driven, chat-rpg. 😀
So trying and get the hang of it, you might in for something different from your usual hack-fest.

You might even enjoy it. 🙂

(My bad Kalamos. Didn't mean any offense or rushing you in any way. I wa trying to remember the names of the towns in the RPG and FAILED. I just used "Tampa, Florida" as an example of what I meant by 'what's your 20?' that's all and nothing more. Gald to know that you are on the ball and making sure everyone follows the rules. 😉

Whoa man, relax. 😉

I was just joking. 😀
You take me *way* too seriously. 😉

Besides, we are making up the rules as we need them.
I'm no RPG-Nazi. 😉

Speaking of actual game: my only suggestion, until we can have a dedicated forum, is posting the Location for your chars.

You squad is presently in Port Kaphraktos.

Why in Kaphraktos you ask? Because you have a squad of fighter-types in a dialogue-heavy rpg. So I had to make up a place where they could *spar* before joining the main story.

Reg's.

Rilina's situation is just getting worse and worse as the evening gets later and later. Her eyes go wide in horrid shock when she sees the man with the dagger threatening her; they go even wider when Luna pegs her and comes over to make a suggestion.

She hadn't meant to sell the young waitress herbs that didn't work, but the formula was very delicate. She had the correct proportions made back at her shop, but she knew Luna would want revenge. What made it worse was that Rilina had sold an entire batch of the bad stuff, and a lot to the waitresses in the inn.

"Luna, wait, I.." she eeps at the suggestion that this can be taken care of without blood. She's not entirely certain blood wouldn't be better. She sees other waitresses eyeing her with interest, knowing she sold them bad herbs. And she knows she robbed at least three or four people in the audience who didn't see her face.

Even worse, she knew the law. The siblings, Luna, the Waitresses and the other patrons (who could make up false charges even if they didn't know the truth) could make a fuss and the guards would make her a slave right then and there. And then she would be in trouble.

But the worst thing was how ticklish Rilina knew she was. Like Luna, she too was genetically destined for ticklishness, but not directly. Her mother had been one of the genetically modified ticklees, and had passed on her genes to Rilina.

She begins begging Luna, and the brother. "Please, I'm so sorry, but I never wanted to sell you those bad herbs, I promise. And I need to eat I'm sorry don't kill me!" She begs to the brother. She is caught between a rock and a hard place, or worse: the stocks and a soft feather. And it looks like it will only get worse.

"Im sorry, please, have mercy.."

Sorry, AM, i was just going on with the flow, but you are right, and it will NEVER happen again.

Rachel heard some pleading above the din of the crowd. Why this girl at the table was begging for mercy, she did not know, but it would not be appropriate to get off the stage and find out. The show must go on in order to maintain her guise as a dancer and entertainer. If someone ended up in the stocks, Rachel could tickle him or her until the bounty hunters give up their search and leave. Of course she would have to inflict punishment upon someone she had never met before, without knowing what the victim had done to deserve it.

She looked to the girl whom she heard pleading earlier. It appeared that she was being harassed by three people, though from the looks on their faces they might be accusing her of a crime. But enough stalling! With every second passed, it would become more and more apparent that Rachel was no professional dancer or entertainer. She placed one hand on the open stocks and pointed in Rilina's direction, hoping that her decision would not have any unexpected consequences. In response, most of the patrons turned to look in the direction Rachel was pointing.

(OOC: I'll let Rilina or anyone else take it from here, until she is secured in the stocks.)

(Damn your good. I don't really take you seriously, I just know that you are 1 of the top notch gamers in this thread, so I am trying to respect your rules and such. Have a good day and happy hunting/tickling.)

i'm sorry if i put this post where it doesn't belong. but i'm totally clueless, this seems like rocket science to me. do i just jump in and.....????? what do i do? continue the story? fight someone? and who is an npc? can i fight an npc without permission? in lay man's term's, i know zip, zilch on what to do. can someone help?

Roberta, Draco, and Night Raptor's Arrival in Bisanthium!

After their sparring activity, Roberta, Night Raptor, and Draco headed toward the town of Bisanthium. They walk toward a tavern and hear a lot of din coming from within.

"What is going on in there?" Draco asked.

"Only one way to find out," Roberta stated devilishly, "Let's go in and take a look."

Night Raptor sniffs the air, licks his lips, and says, "I smell Bounty Hunter blood, and the scent of ticklishness."

"That means that someone is about to be tickled eh bro," commented Draco.

"Precisely," Night Raptor replied, "The Bounty Hunters are searching for a female."

"You are too good," Roberta stated.

"Thank you my lady," Night Raptor replied.

The group headed to the door of the Tavern, opened it, and stepped inside...

(I'll let the rest of you in is Tavern at Bisanthium continue this from you POV.)

I'm not a gamer, just a wandering unserious writer. 😉
But, hey, how can I disagree when you say I'm top notch? 😀

-> Norm

Don't worry, I made up a place near the main gaming location. It is called Port Kaphraktos. Port Kaph for short.

It is a mustering point for soldiers and mercs, so if you are lost for clues, just write up how your chars made it to Kaph, and don't worry about the rest.

We'll have a separate thread for that side-story soon, so you can play there and get the hang of free-form.

Reg's, players. As always, have fun.

The crowd follows Rachel's pointing and find themselves gazing upon young, frightened Rilina; a grin appear on the faces of many of the members of the crowd, for a variety of reasons. Rilina knows she sees recognition on the faces of the waitress/slaves of the establishment; she accidentally sold them bad goods. She shrieks as she feels hands beginning to grab at her body to drag her on stage. As she thrashes, her eyes catch on a man sitting in the back, wearing the official clothes of a constable drinking with a man with the patch of a slaver. Oh this can't be good.

Rilina's only hope is that they just decide to tickle the bejesus out of her and not proclaim her crimes. If they proclaim them, the crowd will see to it they multiply exponentially; and then the constable and slaver will be forced to act.

Rilina breaks down in to frightened sobbing as the tugging grows nearer to the stage.

(OOC: Okay Tukano, if you want you can take over the constable and the slaver, assuming it's okay with the moderators, since I feel bad someone jumped on the bro and sis before you did. And if people in the audience want to call out Rilina's crimes, real or imagined, feel free to)

The young man had been silent this whole time, his eyes the only things moving, watching the dancing girl. However, they shifted as the new commotion arose with the girl being dragged against her will. He could only imagine what she must have done...and fantasize about what could happen to her. That brought forth a small grin.

He may have not found a good job yet, but the entertainment today sure was making him feel better. Lifting up his mug, he downed what was left of his Ale before continuing to watch the "excitement" in silence.

Apparently something had broken out among the audience, seeing as some girl was now being all but dragged up along the stage. It appeared as though she would be placed in the stocks, assumedly for tickling, but whether it was for mere entertainment, as the dancer seemed to suggest, or for punishment, as several people were dragging her up, was beyond him. It seemed wise to keep a coin handy; she was, after all, good looking, and if he got the chance to tickle her a little bit, he may even aquire her name. With a reach into his coat pocket he found... nothing. Odd, he had had a few coins there last he checked, and only used one for the alchohol. Well, he might have dropped them at some point, but since he didn't move.. he sighed, realizing the fool he must have looked right at that moment. If this girl had done anything though, he imagined it would be something petty, like picking pockets, and his coin was missing.. no large amount, but all the same.. but for the moment, he would keep quiet. No, he had no proof that it was her, but he thought she had eyed him a little suspiciously, but all the same.. eh, no use worrying about it, at any rate. A few peices of copper were nothing to torture someone over.. but she was attractive. He'd play it by ear, he decided.
(Kk, this is where Im wondering on my actions. I know we arent supposed to control other characters, but what if I control the npcs, who just happen to be taking Rilna to the stocks? I dont think thats going against the rules, but yea, I'll edit it out if anyone has a problem with it.)
In a heartbeat these thoughts went through Lucius mind, and in that heartbeat the crowd had begun to cheer, woot, hollar, and in general cause a large commotion. He guessed this was what they were waiting for, and, though a foreigner, Lucius too was joyful, to say the least, over the current situation. The look in the dancers eyes was awkward, unsettling. Rather than a sinister look she seemed more.. fearfull. He could hardly blame her; if she was going to tickle someone else, after showing off her soles to the crowd, and sticking her own leg tauntingly into the stocks, then she should be. At any rate, he wouldnt mind seeing her receive a little tickling as well; not often you see a noble tortured, anyway. The dancers feet shuffled a bit as she waited for the victim she had pointed out. Finally she(rilina) was dragged to the stocks, and a minute or two later, after futily attempting escape, she sat there, barefoot and defenseless. The people who had taken her to be tortured stepped aside and watched carefully as the dancer prepared to entertain the audience a bit. Lucius watched expectently, but noted a shadow off to the side of the stage. Trouble brewing, and he was unarmed(if I forgot to mention, I had him leave his weapons and majority cash in his room); not that a sword would near as much good as a feather would here, but all the same, he liked to know he could defend himself if necessary.
"C'mon, on with the show already!" he shouted.
(Oooh, ooh, request! Cassandra, just taunt us a bit here, lol. Have your character pull her foot out of her slipper while tickling her and, dont know exactly what its called, but uh, you put weight onto the top of the foot/toes; I can see this happening as someones tickling anothers feet, and it would just be, you know, good =p. Yar.)
(and hey, kalamos, whatever happened to the people in the port? They were the first posters, they arrived, then nothing =p. Im not sure if theyre waiting for you or not, so my suggestion would be to throw in the gather-point npc. Don't wait for my character to show up for that; I will, but itll be a bit later. Just wanted to catch the action a bit lol.)

-> ElFewja

I'm waiting for TT to set a new forum up.

"These roads seem to have gotten harder since last I came this way," Valdor mused, "And so many people. Kaphraktos has grown." For many days he had been walking, trudging down the roads from the inner provinces. But as Kaphraktos loomed over the horizon, spires reaching forth into the sky.
(OOC: I don't mean skyscrapers hear. A spire in this day and age MIGHT be a large church or government building, which wouldn't exceed a hundred feed (And a hundred feet would be the big momma of religious centers). But, to a traveler in these times, a builfing of height fourty feet would seem impressive enough, especially coming from the outlying regions.)
Ships filled the harbour and people swarmed about. But, even with all this activity, and the promise of employment within, he still felt uneasy. Was this the right choice? Or should he have stayed in the backwoods, away from this coming war? "It can't be helped," he murmured, "Time to make make the best of this." Drawing his cloak in closer, he strode on towards the gateway of Kaphraktos.

(OOC: If I happen to vanish again for a few days or more, and I happen to be DOING something, or if my character is needed for something, Kalamos has my permission to use him. I wouldn't do this normally, but as you may have noticed, I went *poof* for a week. I can't be trusted to stick around......)

First you create a character in this thread:

http://www.tickletheater.com/showthread.php?t=12750

And then just post telling us what your character is doing, preferably in a detailed novel-style. If you want your character to fight someone, go ahead. If you want to get involved in the tickling, no problem. Your character's actions are up to you, but there are some restrictions. Like he cannot be too powerful and massacre everyone in town.

YOU CANNOT TAKE CONTROL OF ANOTHER ROLEPLAYER'S CHARACTER IN YOUR POSTS! I can't stress this enough. I know it is easy to get carried away, especially when you don't want to wait for the other player to post in order to have him/her do something minor like giving a wink.

An NPC (non-player character) is a background character that we create without having to make a character sheet for them. They serve as the minor characters like waitresses, bartenders, the tavern owner, nameless passers-by, etc. Some NPCs do have names, in which case it will be stated in their first appearance whether they are NPCs. Anyone can control and fight an NPC without permission, but don't kill an NPC who seems to have a role in the story.

Rachel walked around the stocks and the wooden post with the shackles holding Rilina's arms above her head. All eyes were on the two girls, including the bounty hunters who had been watching with keen interest. Rachel stayed calm as she circled her helpless victim, eyes fixed on her. She stopped in front of the stocks and removed her own slippers first, dropping them to one side. Then she slowly pulled off Rilina's boots, exposing her feet while she played to the crowd by showing off her finely manicured fingernails. The audience was like a pack of hungry wolves waiting for a slab of meat. They wanted to see someone get tortured that day.

Rachel teased the crowd further by moving her finger closer to Rilina's soles, then withdrawing it quickly. She was interrupted when one of the waitresses passed her a set of straps... straps worn around the ankles to bend the toes over, therefore stretching out the soles. It all seemed too cruel but Rachel had to do it anyway. She placed the straps around Rilina's feet, preventing her from curling her toes during the tickling.

Now it was time to begin. Rachel sat down in front of the stocks. She started slowly, sliding her index fingers up Rilina's soles to see just how ticklish she was.

"Well, well, what have we here?" Draco stated at the sight of a beautiful girl being dragged to the stage which housed some stocks.

"It seems to me that young lady is being punished for something," Roberta replied.

"Too fuzzy, but it seems that she sold something that was bad to someone in that group," Night Raptor replied, "If she sold those things to me, it wouldn't have matter if they were bad or good."

"Same here brother," Draco commented.

"Uh huh," Roberta stated, "I am sure since y'all deal a great lot with magic and stuff like that."

"Darn skippy," Draco replied, "The question is can we prevent this and help her out or should we stand by and watch?"

"I think that we should attempt to prevent this," Night Raptor stated, "It sounds like so much fun to interfer with those pithetic looking people's plans."

"Calm down you two," Roberta commanded, "We are here to remain neutral, not to start any kind of conflict."

Draco rolled his eyes and Night Raptor merely sighed, and said, "Leave it to a girl to ruin manly fun."

"I resent that remark," Roberta stated, "Remember, I am the one who is in charge here, or do I need to report this matter to my brother who told you both, 'Listen and do what Roberta tells you to do without delay or else...'"

"Fine," Draco stated, "We will behave ourselves."

"Good," stated Roberta, "Now go order 3 Ales."

"Yes ma'am," Night Raptor replied.

Night Raptor and Draco made their way to the bar to order the drinks, meanwhile, Roberta went to a corner and sat down watching the girl getting hauled to the stage with the stocks on it against her will.

"I wonder what will happen to that girl," Roberta said to herself, "My guess is that she will be tickled."

(Cries.. cassandra, stop teasing us so much =p. Good post, though; and I swear, if they keep being so good, I may just have my character storm the stage, rather than let the mysterious guy in the back do it for me. 'Til then, I think Ill contend myself to playing with *your* feet, rather than your characters. *Proceeds in lightly tickling her toes*
Yay for randomness)

*Edit*
(And yea, she distracted me from my real purpose.. sadly lol. Yea, posting on Rilna, or Rilina, I have bad eyes; Im not quite sure what you mean when you say bred for ticklishness? I mean, the way you're using it sounds like genetic engineering, which is fine and all, but I recently did a research paper on the subject, and, so far as I read, the genetic engineering shouldn't pass onto the offspring unless the reproductive cells were also modified. Just a random tidbit, because for all I know being bred for ticklishness could mean just being tickled on a daily basis as the person was raised. Just throwing in my random tidbits, with the evil underlying intent of trying to make it so her character is changed so that *she* was bred for ticklishness, rather than her mother. *evil smirk*)

((As for the exact bred for ticklishness, I was just going off of what Tukano made up with Luna, building off of it 😉 And besides, it was done by priests and as we all know, evil priests don't exactly follow the laws of physics. 😉 And, since no one else seems to, I'll have some NPCs get the trouble started with her crimes))

Rilina is sobbing the entire way up to the stocks, having lost the battle to worm her way out of the hands of her soon to be tormentors. As she is seated in the stocks she lets out another cry. Her arms are bound high above her, her sleeves sliding down to reveal the smooth hollows of her armpits.

Rachel is given a pleading, begging look as the dancer comes up to her. It's another woman, and another woman who was working on avoiding the stocks. "Oh gods please don't do it, I didn't mean to sell them anything, I didn't want to have to steal that money.." she continues her litany of begging.

Her eyes shoot even more wide open when the hands move to her thick boots; there is a reason she wears the boots. In addition to being pretty much bred for ticklishness herself, she is an apothecary; she has all sorts of creams she uses herself to keep her skin healthy. Not only that, but her father made her mother use some of the very effective ticklish enhancing techniques once used on her on Rilina. She is probably more ticklish than most of the special slaves, possibly more than Luna. (There you go, ElFewja). Her toes are delicate, her feet petite and pretty, the nails tinted slightly with citrus. She whimpers, wiggling them for the little bit she can, before the cruel strap goes on.

"Oh gods...please...I beg you do...oH..AHAHA!" She continues to plead before the fingers hit her skin. Her feet are soft, but have enough substance to them to provide torturous friction.

The barmaids begin crying out what she did to them, including particulars of what the cream did when they were tickled; this of course draws them to be briefly tickled to see if it still has effect. But then the brother cries out that he stole from her and /he/ wants sole punishment (double entendre).

That would be enough to get her in enough trouble, but then the crowd slowly begins to cry out other crimes; some are real, the people putting two and two together (they shopped with her, she stole from them), while others make it up. The stories slowly begin to get more extravagant.

And Rilina just cries, her torment just begun.

((Alright guys, go ahead and threow some crimes out there if you want, make up extravagant stories with incredible losses if you want. She's already in enough trouble as it is, might as well pile it on 🙂 ))

About being bred for ticklishness.

In a fantasy setting we could say that certain races are especially ticklish - just as we say that some are especially bad tempered, gullible or lazy.

Traditionally, of the main humanoid races, elves are described as the most delicate and frail-looking; they would be good candidates for such a "super-ticklish race".

BUT... they are usually often portrayed as aloof and somewhat alien too, and they'd probably develop mental barriers to ignore tickling, just as they keep other unwanted stimuli out.

Half-elves, on the other hand, especially those educated outside elven communities, would lack true elven education, so they'd inherit elven ticklishness without learning how to keep it in check.

Having elven blood would raise ticklishness up a notch or two, so, in this way, breeding somebody for ticklishness would make some sense - they wouldn't be able to create a "superticklish" race, but they could have especially soft skinned slaves breed, and hope they are ticklish too.

Also, tickling is a natural reaction to a stimulus, so "imprinting" the slaves somehow, would be possible. For instance, by accustoming them to react in a certain way, or by associating tickling with something pleasurable/unpleasurable - Pavlov anybody?

Finally, as Rilina said, magic/divine intervention could also enter the equation: while we envisioned magic to be rare, certain cults might have access to "special resources" and actually be able to artificially enhance ticklishness in individuals.

Of course, breeding tickle-slaves would be considered immoral and frowned upon in some societies - not just the tickling thing, but slavery in itself.

Oh... and before anybody says it would be immoral in ours too, remember we are just making guesses about fictitious characters.
No elves were tickled while making this game up. 😀

As usual, have fun.

((Alright, so I'll go with the magic thing, which could explain Luna as well. And since it is magic, it could very easily be passed down genetically 😉))

(Thanks kalamos, that really clears up a lot of questions, sorts out enough problems, etc. And lets get around the whole slavery by, rather than having people bred to it, its more of a punishable crime that over the years just developed, greed of people, etc. I Dunno, just got yelled at and it threw off my train of thought. Ill get back to it later.
And as for Rilina, you're trying way too hard to make her ticklish =p. Salves put on on purpose, but she *hates* being tickled. I love it =p. *scratchs at her soles too, similar to cassandras treatment* - I do have two hands, after all ^^)

Whew, they had hardly begun, and already she was screaming as though she had been tortured for hours. Remarkable; no wonder such minor forms of punishment work well here. It took effort to keep an eye on the man trying to conceal himself in the back, but he managed it. Still, the womans laughter was intoxicating, and Lucius found it to be heavenly. And her feet; works of art that should never be incased in boots such as she had been wearing. It was a bit far to hold her toes back as such, but what results.. even if they seemed to prevent access to the toes. The crowd was now roaring, enjoying the show very greatly. Two particular men in the back seemed rather interested in the display, more so than they should at any rate. It was difficult to tell anything though, and these were just guesses. Not long after the noblewoman had begun raking the poor girls soles did the crowd begin shouting that they too were robbed, or shouted some other petty crime, some of which were so farfetched that there was absolutely no way they could have happened, but seemed to matter not. Likely, though, with the way the crowd was reacting, it wouldn't be more than 20 minutes before the stage was stormed; enough time to make her cry laughing, but still.. it would be a bad scene for the two women if the crowd did decide to attack. Half of him knew he should stop it, but the other half.. well, he wanted to see the girl get what she deserved, her and the noblewoman alike. And he, too, had a fair claim to punish her, which he would do eventually, but not now. Now the cities screams, now the cities background of laughter all seemed to make sense. There would be no true war, fought with blades, but rather a mental war fought with fingers and feathers. It truly would be a sight to behold.
The man Lucius had greeted before and rented a room from had taken haste to run to his counter, and back, carefully hiding something behind his back. Shielded the object well, too, which, upon reaching the stage and two pairs of stocks, relinquished it to the noblewoman; a feather, stiff, white, and fairly long at that. The few seconds of blissful nothingness bought for Rilina byt the ownerseemed much appreciated, then much more horrifiic, as she saw the new weapon in the dancers hands. A scream, followed by that heavenly laughter again; Lucius only wished he could get a better view. The shadow of a man in the corner seemed to grow impatient, and would more than likely attack soon. It was foolish of the noblewoman to bare her soles again, even if it was quite appealing. After all, who wouldn;t enjoy the irony of a woman with lovely feet bared before an audience torturing that of anothers? But, at any rate, Lucius began to feel the need for his swords again, just in case a brawl did ensue. These two were too lovely to be taken captive, after all.
(Cassandra, rilina, feel free to draw this tickle scene out a bit more; with permission,, after its all said and done, Ill interrupt it with an npc and, well, cause more chaos. Til then.. *scritchs on both of their soles a bith* Yargh!)

((Hey El, you do know you justy posed me not only enjoying a break and screaming, but Cass taking a quick break for the feather, right 😉 Im not peeved, just be careful. 🙂 ))
