Dang, Kalamos, you are too good. Second all he said.
Kalamos said:I'd suggest making another, permanent thread with char sheets only - in theory the chars' bios should be secret, since we [our chars] don't know each others, and they should be aware only of readily visible things: appearance, gestures, mannerism, and so on.
Kalamos said:Also, I don't know how familiar you are with e-rpgs, but I'd suggest keeping a local copy of our full sheets on your pc. So you can access the data and fill in details as you need to.
Kalamos said:Finally, to save on aspirin, I'd suggest you to make a fixed turn sequence, so players' posts don't clash with each others' - and you don't have to lose sleep to fix everything just because the human and elf posted at the same time two completely different courses of action. 😉
Kalamos said:If you ask for "one-shot" players, I'm sure somebody will show up knowing you'll assign pre-made chars, so they don't have to make one, and they could play straight away, without hassles. 🙂
Kalamos said:This leads me to another idea... we might add what kind of features we are interested in: full-experience, role-play only, cybertickling only, and so on.
Too many threads? This is an open forum, it is *expected* to be alive.cassandra said:But then, wouldn't I be cluttering up the board with too many threads about just one RPG? The char sheets can be stored in this thread for reference.
This thread is already cluttered with chat and rule suggestions. That can be done in this thread by editing our posts, but I'll save the char sheets on my PC anyway.
Fixed turn sequence also means people have to post by a given date. We'd have to wait for absent players anyway. Knowing they missed their action means the others can keep playing without "waiting a bit more".Ah, that brings me to a problem that I see quite often in GameFAQs. Sometimes a roleplayer may be absent for a long period of time (for whatever reason). If that person leaves in the middle of a conversation or battle, the other roleplayer is left waiting for his response which may never come.
It could be messy, though: if we have to choose a post, we lose time. If we post together, at least one post will be wasted. So here's what we will do: No fixed turn sequences. In the event where two people post different actions at the same time, we go with the post that came first (the one that's on top of the other), OR simply choose whichever post we would rather go with.
Recognizing them isn't mandatory, IMHO: it demeans them a bit, to know they are just "understudy", one-shot chars. 😉Pre-made characters can be introduced in the actual game. We will recognise them when we see them.
You could PM people who offered to watch: you ask them to role-play a given char for a short while. The question though is whether those people would voluntarily take over a pre-made char, since they might not know if they are allowed to.
Maybe only to you.Interesting. Do you mean state the features we like in the character sheets?

You lose a turn, you post next time.
Kalamos said:This naturally leads to a question: you posted your own char. Are you going to Master and play, or is she just a fleshed-out NPC?
And, are you willing to handle full-Mastering, or would you rather write the story only and let the mods/players sort most of the mechanics out?
Kalamos said:Thanks HDS. 🙂
Personally... I second, third and fourth what Tukano posted. 😀
That char is *VIBRANT*. I wish we met under different circumstances, T...
Being countrymen, we could have enjoyed good e-rpg way before...

What'dayasay, guys? Don't we just need a chubby leecherous amoral heretic bard onboard? 😀
[Non è che hai esagerato con gli svantaggi, T? Sei limitato a 40 punti, eh? 😉 ]

Kalamos said:You could keep a track of fav features, and you could simply steer story as to avoid contact between differently "aligned" players.
tukano 2 said:Cassandra: yes, probably it's too soon for a dedicated forum, but I really think that 2 more threads, 1 JUST for the chars, with eventual pix, 1 JUST for the actual playing, with all the other stuff, comments, suggestions, critics, flames, whatever, kept outside, not disturbing the actual players, would be ideal.
We should need moderator's power from someone (maybe HDS?) to keep the 2 operative threads clean. Other stuff can continues to be posted here.
People are using threads just to say what they have eaten this morning (fruit yogurt :->), I think we can waste 3 threads for a funny tk based game, can't we? ;-)
