Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

I wanted to ask...I've been keeping notes and such and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in reading the Novelization of "The Tower of Gargalesis". It would differ from the game in certain areas (The Outsider doesn't line up to any of the six classes in the novel itself) and would probably be nice for further information that may be lost in the game form.

Of course, the novelization would never advance beyond the game, it would be more supplemental. Just throwing this out there, would anyone like to read this?

Want. You had me at Novelization. Upload it to the Tickling Stories board please.

This game would be great as a story adaption anyway.

@rothgar: lol, "go tip that cow"

I agree the novel thing is cool, but I'd say if I had to choose between Deus working on more of the game, or working on the novel, I'd go game. But it sounds like he's working on this already, so great.

Feedback question: What would you guys most looking forward to in the next chapter? Putting on your constructive criticism hats, what could be most improved? What do you like in the quests: more dialogue, tough/interesting gameplay, items?

I'm excited to see Aello and Hathor, and hopefully interact a bit. I tend to like the longer dialogue (esp. tickling) quests, and enjoy when they're challenging and creative. As for improvement, we only get new weapon/armor about once a level, and haven't gotten any accessories. It'd be fun to have more to play around with, accessories that add offense at the expense of defense, agility for attack, hp up but Ad down, etc. It'd add more strategy and customization to the game.*

*I still praise this game to the high heavens, but blind praise prob'ly doesn't help Deus any

I'm going to open up accessories/talismans in the next Chapter. I think, for the sake of customization as was mentioned, I'll drop the level cap on some of the accessories and release a talisman or two. So keep your eyes peeled. I may get time to work on that tonight or tomorrow. It's a busy time, real life sucks, etc.

To anyone concerned that the novelization would slow down updates on the game, it wouldn't.

The novelization is based on the game, not the other way around. The written part would never advance beyond the game, and would actually HELP me with the game. I work much better in fully fleshed out written scenario than I do in concentrated burst writings ala what I've been doing up to this point.

I would like to request that anyone who needs help with anything from this point out, email me at: [email protected]

I will answer your questions until the walkthrough is completed. Do not post here asking for help. If you need help, either PM someone, or email me and I'll work with you. Let's keep this a beta-testing thread limited to bugs, suggestions, comments in regards to the development.

On a less business related note: I'm starting on the novelization and wanted some input on an important but very small detail. The canon name of The Outsider.

I don't want to write the novel in second person, so as a result, I'm going to have to name the Outsider (for ease of writing...I could do it otherwise but it just makes the writing really awkward in places).

Here are some details on the canon novel incarnation of The Outsider.

The Outsider is: female, about 5'6", auburn-haired, green eyes, has freckles, and is not actually a fighter, but her younger brother was a squire to a very well-renowned Knight in her home kingdom. As such, she's picked up a few things in the way of self-defense.

She is unique from any of the game classes, but will probably be closest to the Adventurer.

I don't have a defined...region for the game's setting. It's purely a fictional world completely removed from Earth. I'd like to stick to more Western names, if that makes sense. I just don't want her to be your average "Sakura Higurashimasashi Tenchiyo Saiyajin".

So...right...tl;dr: What do you think The Outsider's name should be?

The Outsider appears to be of Celtic or Nordic/Germanic descent, as such those names seem most appropriate. When the captain meets you, he also says "X, that's a weird name" or something, for what that's worth.

Names I like: Alice, Molly, Eileen, Fiona, Kelly, Darcy, Fay, Heidi.

Alice has 'wonderland' connotations (which may come across as derivative), but its a good, pithy name. Fay might be appropriate (connoting fay spirits and goings on), and is a rarer but still normal name for a medieval girl in a knight's household. I vote Fay.

I looked up some foreign sounding names on behindthename.com and got some nice thigns-

Xena- means foreigners in greek
Polyxena- means many foreigners in greek
Isra- means nocturnal journey in arabic
Saira- means traveler in arabic
Beatrix/Beatrice- means traveler in latin

And other names with less meaning (got while looking for names with 'soft')-
Velvet
Gerlinde (means soft spear)
Lamis
Linda
Nermin
Rosalin
Rose

Please don't make it Xena. That reminds me of the stupid TV show, and would seriously take away from my reading pleasure. xD

<.< Actually Xtreme has a good point with that Alice thing

Yeah I chose it because she's in a new world, wierd stuff happens. She saves that world (i'm assuming), and there's a bunny girl that looks very similar to another rabbit from wonderland.

Well, I got the game not really knowing what to expect, but it is AWESOME! It reminds me of the old Final Fantasy games I played when I was younger.

I love how it has something for everyone, even bellybutton tickling which is my favorite. The mid-battle scene with Lady Venus is my favorite, so far, with the victory tickling scene with Bebe a close second. Needless to say, I lose the Venus mid-battle scene very often. I also like losing the bar mini-game with the thief.

I haven't gotten past the 2nd boss in the tower yet, so I don't know if there are any other scenes in the game that feature bellybutton tickling as much the ones that I've mentioned. Feel free to tell me if there are, but don't go into great detail. I like to have something to shoot for.

On the subject of advanced tickle spots, I think they would be a great addition to the game. Unless they have already been added, in which case ignore me cause I'm non-observant.

In short, LOVE this game! Fantastic job DeusEx!

I throw my support behind Alice. Wasn't thinking of it when I saw the naming idea, but as soon as I read "Alice", it just felt right.

Possible bug: I defeated Mammona before doing the Snow Maiden quest. Found the shield blocking the 3rd floor and got the line about talking to Honey Bee about it. Went back to HB, but nothing changed, same speech options. Checked all over town, got nothing new, so I just went to the Frozen Island and went ahead with the quest.

Everything worked just fine, was able to complete the quest and all. Just hadn't heard about the red feather at all until I'd earned it. I assume that's what Honey Bee was supposed to tell me.

That's it! Just couldn't get the dialogue to activate!

Speaking of thief... I just suck with the speedster type. Would anyone be nice enough to send me a thief file with the bar game unlocked :3? Please?

Alice would be a logical pic, but then the game would quickly change from the towers of garglesis to Alice in tickle land 😛

Fay or Fey depending on your flavor isnt a bad option

papa smurf? well....it has a nice ring to it, but then we would spend weeks trying to agree on who to cast as smurfette !!!

Ok, I've gotten to the part where you have to use the medallions and do the challenges. I completed the fairy challenge and I can't use the shrine anymore eventhough I still have one medallion left. I saved after I completed the fairy challenge. Am I completely screwed and have to start over now?

EDIT: I'm also not encountering random monsters.

Viper, my question is how many medallions did you start with because there is an extra one ( the feather medallion) thats part of an other quest. you only need 4 shards to move on to defeat the second floor boss. I would check with honey bee in hopes that closes your quest. otherwise, you may have found a bug...besides her 😛

Oh, I started with 5 medallions, but I still have the mushroom medallion. I have 6 shards, but I've talked with HB many times and she hasn't said or done anything to advance the story. I've also been in the tower and it hasn't moved on.

there was a bug like this reported before, but it was thought to have been fixed in ver V4.204. I guess my next question is are you running the latest update?
