Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

ok, first of all, the game is great deus, i've had a lot of fun playing it. But i've been having a frustrating problem, and i've been going through the post's backlog, but have not been able to find an answer (not to say it isnt there, but i havent seen it.) so here's my issue; after the feather bug quest i head to the north to do the snow maiden quest. the first one works but even after i get the love letter thing from the well, the lover of the snow maiden quest doesnt spawn. i updated to the latest version and tried again, but still nothing. i dont know if its a bug or if i'm just doing something wrong, so any help would be apreciated...

keep up the great work,
cap

^ try talking to the snow maiden. if you can get her attention
you might also want to apologize to her for going through her stuff, reading her love letters...
(just kidding)

-edit -if that doesn't work. i'm not sure if it matters or not, but you may have to defeat mamonna first.

You have to finish Chapter 2, get the Vow of Eternity, and examine the book on the desk (it's an early copy of the Mamono Codex, like found in Silver's house).

i just tried it from an old save (might be the reason)
i could get the vow and examine the codex after chapter 2 but the snow maiden
wouldn't talk until mamonna was defeated (chapter 3). then when i talked to her
it said to examine the room to get her attention (codex) and something about a monument in the forest.
after looking at the codex then talking to her, then the quest came up.
i've never found the monument thing.

Did you get the Vow of Eternity? If so, you saw the monument, you have to examine it to open the cave in the well.

yes. went to the grave site. got the vow from the well, then went to the codex (it says "something about this looks familiar...") went to the snow maiden. she wouldn't talk. then played with mamonna🙂 then returned to the snow maiden.
tried to talk to her. a screen came up saying "there must be a way to get her attention...:
then another screen came up that said:
"Something in this room seems familiar...maybe you should explore a bit? There was also an interesting monument in the forrest...that might be worth looking into."

at this point i could examine the codex again and then talk to the snowmaiden to activate the quest,
however i went to the forest instead just to see. neither of the 2 shrines responded to anything.
i then went back and talked to her. then the quest came up.

edit - 1 note: at this point in the game, i had all of the quests, challenges, etc. done except mamonna
edit -ok i get it, the monument in the back yard forest, but she doesn't mention it until you already have the vow of eternity.
my humblest apologies for all of this.

Oh shit, that's in the village? That's an item I created for beta-testing. Basically, it calls a common event that sets the game to the point I want to test. The "Use it ******" was a joke aimed at myself...oops, um...if anyone else gets this item, don't use it. It's a dummy item made for testing purposes.

I'm correcting that giant mistake right now. No one start a new game in the latest update <_< It'll break.

@above poster: Chapter 3 itself has not been started yet. I just need to write the game over scenes for the random enemies and they'll be done, then I have to do Tanuki, Hard Slime, and Satania and I think all the Mamono will be ready to roll. My wife and I are moving into our apartment on the 27th, so once again I'm busy lol.

I also just remembered I'll have to set up a second Aello set since you can rematch her off the bat (she's a lot harder but should be easier than Honey Bee).

whats new with the update?

It removes the Deus Ex Machina from the village, sets new characters to start from the beginning (in the previous version you would start in the village as the Heroine and it would just be all kinds of fucked up) and it may have some other minor fixes.

Get the new version, the last one was very badly broken.

ah, i see. I also noticed that the cost of the target tickling is gone. It might have veen gone for a while, but i just noticed it

Are you using the Red Talisman you got from beating Paranoia? That item has an additional effect of halving the cost of all spells, rounded down.

oh yea, now that you mention it, I am using the red talisman. I didnt really notice the additional effect cuz i really dont pay attention to the costs.

I'm totally stuck on the 2nd floor, is there anything I should do before I try to beat mamonna?
I'm a witch btw.

The first time you fight mamonna, you run like hell away from her. You need a special item to counter the effects of her core that can be triggered with a conversation with honey bee

I have the core and I have used it on her for damage, but she still beats me. is there anything I should try or just grind until I can beat her?

I'm not sure what you're having trouble with, but I'll cover all of the basics. Mammona is level 9 minimum however Deus made it so that enemies and bosses level up as you do, bring in apple juices which you can get pretty much for free at the bar minigame, fruit of knismesis can cure status effects so use it if you get poisoned, charity core's damage increases as more turns pass between each use, use feather fire inbetween core charges if you can, keep your HP high at all times in case you fall under her power and lose 2-3 turns.

Alright, it's been ages since I've posted anything. Here's an update on my status:

I'm moving into an apartment with my wife next Thursday, this means that I will have a lot more time to work on this once we get that taken care of. Expect some sporadic updates over the next two weeks, I've been on hiatus long enough I should be able to think of the last few parts I need to write and then get started on the actual legwork.

I think I've mentioned that I have the Mamono finished for the most part, so here's an update on what to expect in the next chapter:

- Aello returns, she helps you through the third floor of the tower, gives you a "tent" type item, and opens up the mountains west of the tower for exploration. She'll also be available to play/talk with after you finish a part in the tower.

- Another appearance of the mysterious purple-haired Mamono from Chapter 2.

- Further Honey Bee advancement. New tickling scenes with her, some information on her sister, a new romantic level advancement (from close friend to best friend, still not quite romantic yet) and new gift opportunities (that golden comb can be given to her, but isn't a special gift, that one is for Kaliya).

- Updates to the Bar Game including: 20 more questions. A new mode called Do or Die, where you have to answer as many questions as you can one after the other. For every question you get correct, you take 1 minute off a 40 minute tickle-torturing that you'll receive upon missing a single question. The scene MAY OR MAY NOT be class specific, but I'm leaning towards yes. The more questions you get correct before missing, the sooner the torture scene ends (it will be at most, 40 boxes long, signifying each minute). Now, if you finish without missing a single question, you'll get double the points you've accumulated (80 possible points). If you have the point booster, that'll net you double the double, meaning 160 possible points. If you miss at any point, you get the points you've gathered (0-39) and then get to see your scene. I'll be adding new prizes to the bar game.

- Addition of several "Bonus Scenes". These will include, but are not limited to: The scene unlocked by letting the tickle fairy fade away, the scene unlocked at the log, a scene unlocked by picking the third chest in the dungeon, and scenes unlocked at the bar game.

- New information about The Outsider's past. A bit was revealed in "The Grudge" but there will actually be some specific information given in Chapter 4 during the quest with Aello (and a bit with Honey Bee).

New Enemies

- Pipsqueak, a Mouse Mamono, is very weak, but very fast. She has the ability to trick you into letting your guard down. She's most ticklish on her belly.

- Howler, a Wolf Mamono, is the most dangerous random Mamono you'll encounter. She doesn't attack in the beginning, she'll only issue a "Warning Growl" which inflicts the frustrating "Nervous" state. If you attack her, she'll snarl and attack you. She has extremely high attack and can use a "Stance" ability, which will either double the strength of her next tickle, or double her endurance the next turn. She's also in possession of an ability called "Feral Strike" which will destroy Slayers and anyone with ticklish ribs. She is most ticklish on her underarms and belly.

- The Galesi Bat is a very fast Mamono with two interesting abilities. Swoop N' Snatch gives her a chance to grab you by your ankles and dangle you off the ground. It lets her tickle both of your feet pretty much carefree, so Mage's are in a heap of trouble with this one, as it's twice as powerful as a regular "Tickle Feet". She also has "Suckle" where she'll latch onto and lick your neck, draining Stamina and replenishing hers.

- The Mesitrice is a Cockatrice Mamono with the typical stone-gaze ability seen in other games. Rather than turn you to stone, it simply removes your ability to move, letting her tickle you without retaliation. She has a "Feather Rush" ability, where she'll tickle you with her feathers, but it has a recharge period. Most of the time, though, she'll probably run away.

- The Soft Slime's big sister, Hard Slime, makes an appearance as a mini-boss. She'll be twice as hard as the Soft Slime, so be prepared for that.

- The third floor guardian is Satania, the Minotaur Queen of Wrath. She's got pretty high proficiency, and a lot of Endurance, so taking her down is going to be an effort. In fact, it takes several battles as you have to constantly escape to avoid your own entrapment. She has no primary ticklish spot, and is resistant to fire and ice magic.

Sorry about the wait, thanks for your patience.

I think it'll be worth the wait.

I'm looking forward to chapter 4.
