What did people like us do 50 years ago?

Oddly enough when I was in college I found a few obscure references in psycology texts. Dr's would post their interesting cases in these. You could probably still find them in larger libraries. There was also a book called "The Sex Life of the Foot and Shoe" that had tickling references. One of the entries had tickling dating back to Egyptian times. Who knows if that's really true. And I've read the reference to the Russian Royal Court employing Ticklers.

Venray was a member of the Russian Royal Court and all that tickling stuff. He was the one not commonly refered to in history as the guy holding the rope to the pulley supporting the horse over Catherine The Great saying, "Hold on a sec, I gotta get a better grip...."

It didn't end well.

I remember Rossi's book very well. I would recommend it to any TMF member who also has an interest in feet.

Absolutely right!

Before I knew that tickling was something to be "into", I read a lot about tickling in psych books in college libraries. No one was ever in that dark section of the library, so I actually enjoyed myself. (Well... not like THAT!) I enjoyed reading about tickling. I think a couple of those books turned me on.

Yes. The "pschology of laughter" section of the library was a great tickling and foot fetish resource. I discovered Simon de Montfort, Allin, Havelock Ellis etc for the first time. I never got to write that term paper or get my lab funded by the NIH. Go figure. My grant request probably wound up at the FBI.

I actually ordered a copy of it from somewhere years ago. I thought the tickling session was a little short, but I never thought about someone actually seriously writing about it and putting it in a book.

Also pick up a copy of the 2010 Farmer's Almanac. I got one for Christmas, for whatever reason, and there's a nice little piece in it. However, be warned, that it depicts the torture as a means to cause death.
