spoilers.......................................................................

I am really suprised on how xmen 3 the last stand turned out. I went in thinking well its going to be an ok movie. However, it turned out much more entertaining than I anticipated. Kellsy Gramar(sp?) played a great "Beast". I wouldnt say it was dark but it was sad to see professor xavier killed off. My only gripe with the film is that the sentinels in the beginning danger room scene didnt come out as good as I hoped. But thats minor. Great movie!! I hope they do the Wolverine side story: Weapon X.

oh, wow..first post on here for me...

I was very surprised, too. They switched directors twice before finally deciding on Brett Ratner, and I was very pleased with the work he did. I think the reason some of the effects turned out so-so was because the movie was so rushed...switching directors like they did set them back quite a bit.

So, hey, AphxA, did you stick around after the credits for the hidden scene?

also the ending left the door open. and why did Scoot and Jean die!?!? and Mystiq and Magneto are human? I really hope that effect does not actually last.

spoilers....again

Naw, man, did you see the end, When Magneto moved the chess piece? He got his powers back (my theory is that the Earth's natural magnetic field rejuvinated him), or at least some of them. He's just got to recharge, is all. Mystique...I don't know about. Maybe the serum doesn't last permanately.

Personally, I think it'd have been more creative if they just hired people to consciously try to make the movie have as little to do with the comic book as possible. I mean, it felt like that's what they were going for with this movie, but their lack of honesty made it so they just couldn't pull it off. Also:
Logan: Ugh!
Storm: Ung!
Logan: What was that?
Storm: Let's find the professor.
-cut to
Logan: Professor, what is it?
Prof. X: Alkali Lake, go there, now.

A little jumpy. It was entertaining, to me, sure, but even if you remove the whole "Really not sticking to any real truth in the actual comics" element, it was just kind of upsetting to see FOX studios totally FOX-o-cize the really brilliant, and provoking movies that Bryan Singer produced. When Singer turned to the Superman project, a lot of good talent left, because they knew what it would mean. Storm all of a sudden being a lead character? Weak acting, first and foremost; secondly, her paycheck took a lot away from the budget of the movie, as did it for X2; and thirdly, she wasn't anything like she was in the last movie, nor was she anything like she was in the first movie as she was in the second. It shilled out, completely. The logistics that exist in the comic that explain their powers were totally pissed on. Magneto getting "cured" JUST LONG ENOUGH to end the battle/movie - but don't worry, this is where the whole "comic book" thing comes in, because there HAS to be SOME explanation for how Magneto got his powers back, but it's not up to the studio to actually WRITE IT - leave it up to the audience to, maybe even guess? Brilliant...
The movie spent way too much time pre-writing the multiple spin-off films that are going to be put out, and not enough time focusing on the current story. Not a good movie, but a good time, as far as I'm concerned.

I the only one who was disturbed by the movie paying homage to the internet? Essentially by using the "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" scene?

If not for Xavier dying (stupid, stupid idea) and Magneto going emo/insane in response, it probably wasn't terrible. However, i'll stick to my comics, danka.

4/10 from me.

I totally agree with you. I love X-Men, the comics, cartoons, and movies...but as far as an awesome piece of thought-provoking cinema, this was not. I had an amazing time watching it, though.

TOTAL SHILL! I got SO PISSED when I saw that.

The quote is fine, yes; but the fact remains that it originated on the internet! It's just one of those "we change the script to suit our fans" situations.

Personally, I admire George Lucas for making Greedo shoot first...

I would've preferred if the movie lacked that quote.

Idk where the goofy parody came from, I heard its from a bunch of pot heads that made a movie on youtube. Here is the video.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=v1lznd41gZw&search=juggernaut

People abuse this line to death in Wow and a few other mmorpgs.

But i agree with the guy who said the director simply wanted to please the fans by including this line in the movie.

THe film was extremely entertaining for myself, but the whole plot was for no need really, as in a major battle to determine what will be the FINAL outcome for the X Men!

but then when its finally over, Magneto get's his powers back and Xavier isnt really dead!

so it was just one massive circle of a plot :S

Very entertaining to say the least though

I thought I saw that piece twitch too. I think it has more to do with Leech's DNA. When you get near him your power are neutralized. Maybe the serum has a similar effect. I think Mystique will be switching forms soon enough.

The End??????

Loved the film...I just hope everyone realized that they needed to stay to the end of the credits.

what happened at the end of the credits....?
Major Spoiler...............................

Professor X returns by inhabiting the body of the brain-dead patient that he was lecturing to his students about. It is about a two minute scene at the very end of the credits.

What I like about the movie is that the took so many obscure story lines, and not only wove them together, but made them believable, too. I mean, the Dark Phoenix saga, had it been translated directly, would totally not have worked in this film. A lot of people complained about making the Juggernaut a mutant, and didn't like that they ignored the whole "crimson bands of cytorak" thing, but I think it worked perfectly for this movie.

How did Professor X die? And what was Magneto's responce to it?

I got back from seeing this movie a little while ago. I was definitely the best of the three, in my opinion. Everyone would probably agree that individual character development could have been better, but one must realize that theres no time for that in a movie thats 1 hours and 43 minutes.

Things I enjoyed/thought were good:

1.) The Logan/Jean makeout session. For a PG-13 movie they really pushed the envelope with this. I was half-expecting nothing more than a french kiss. But here we get nearly the whole groping package, plus its eludes to the fact that they will have had sex moments later. The angles were good, the fanservice was good, and they were all over eachother. Logan grabbing up her legs/thighs was pretty sweet, and the way she wrapped her legs around his waist and drew him in was seductive and how she took of his belt with her powers. LOL 😱

The topping on the cake of this scene is the fact that they were in this same situation before in the first movie, only it was Logan on the table and her watching over him. Jean reminiscing over this fact really made the moment feel right even if Jean's not really in control of herself.

I think many fans wanted to see this, and they got it.

Pretty powerful romantic scene.

2.) Finally a true demonstration of Magneto's real power. In X-1 and II he toys around with his powers because he never really needs to use them to their full capacity. (Save perhaps for the climax in X-1).

In X-3 we see Magneto:

A. Toss cars and other heavy vehicles around with ease.

B. Use his powers in rapid succession and in ways we haven't seen before.

C. Tear the San Francisco bridge apart and off it's foundation, and hover it to Alcatraz island (or what is a mock verson of the island)!

I really like when characters show us what they can really do. Magneto, being one of the oldest (if not the oldest) characters, sometimes needs to prove his worthiness to certain fans and he certainly did that.

Like Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars, Magneto really kicked ass and wowed audiances. As he is a level 5 mutant, this is to be expected. But they didn't have to do this if they didn't want to. Magneto is just as believable by his presense and charm alone as Sidious is.

That we got to see a sample of what Magneto can do, even at his age, is amazing and was a real treat. He was my favorite before this movie, and he is still my favorite after.

Ian McKellen was magnificant, yet again.

3.) The scenes between Kitty Pryde and Iceman were adorable and cute. It was almost like they were flirting but not really. The tension in his relationship with Rogue, especially after Rogue catching a glimp of Kitty and Ice together, was good and made you wonder what would happen.

4.) The cursing and leud comments. It wasn't what they said so much as how they said it that was funny.

Especially the scene with Mystique and the guard. "I will spray your face bitch!" That was amusing, as well as the "dickhead" comment from Pryde to Juggernaut. "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!"

5.) The scene at the end with Erik (seemingly defeated and reduced being just a normal old human man) and the chess piece was brilliant.

It was subtle but suggested a wide range of possibilities, added questions about the cure and whether it was truely permanent, and above all it was a good cliffhanger moment.

Unfortunately, I didn't think to stay after the credits to see this Professor X scene. Ah well, I can see it on the dvd.

Professor X "died" during a psychic power struggle with Jean Grey (who was, at the time, taken over by her alter ego "The Phoenix").

The power was just too great that it was ripping reality apart (like at the end of the movie), and Professor X was not strong enough and he failed to reach Jean. So he forfeited his life and what was left of the struggle so the power wouldn't destroy the area and his X-men and the general population.

His body was presumably broken down to the molecular level and he was wiped from existance.

As for Erik (Magneto) he was personally divided on the issue. He was both troubled by it because he lost a close, personal friend of many years, but he also realized that without Professor X to oppose him, he would be able to better manipulate Jean to side with him.

He really did feel sorry about Charles though. In a later scene Pyro makes a statement that "I will have killed him if I was told to", to which Erik scolds him by saying something to the effect of "Charles Xavier was a good man" and that "its a shame that Charles had to surrender his life so that we might fight for ours" or something to that effect.

Being a Magneto fan, I'll get the actual quote later on.

I'll have to watch that later. Right now I'm watching episode 2 of Boys Over Flowers (an anime).

I'm a romantic. So sue me. 😛
