I Agree great post General

That song "All the Young Dudes" written by David Bowie for Mott the Hoople sort of sums up a sort of post 60s feeling of youthful alienation in the 70s. Excellent choice I wish I posted that myself.

Damn! I love the Blues! That reminds me! One of my favorite British Blues bands was and is John Mayall And The Bluesbreakers. The band featured many different members throughout the years but this particular lineup really rocked or BLUED, as the case may be. This lineup featured Eric Clapton on lead guitar and future Fleetwood Mac'er John McVie on bass:

The Paul Butterfield Blues band at the Monterey Pop Festival,1967.As far as i know Elvin Bishop is the only surviving member of this band.

I've gotta thank Brianspencer for thinking up this thread. Thanks to him, I have just been reunited with a song that I haven't heard in 29 years! I was looking for songs to post for this thread when I just happened to find this. I first heard it in 1979 (my Junior year in high school), then it disappeared from sight (and my ears) for 29 years, and now, we're reunited and it feels so good! Here's Wet Willie with "Weekend":
