Love that song General.I saw them live in 74 or 75,they opened for Genesis. One hell of a show it was.:D

I Agree great post General

That song "All the Young Dudes" written by David Bowie for Mott the Hoople sort of sums up a sort of post 60s feeling of youthful alienation in the 70s. Excellent choice I wish I posted that myself.

I'm lovin' this thread! Wow, you guys have great tastes in music, man!

So, of course, I need to add another song to the mix:

Brianspencer mentioned Stevie Wonder earlier. Stevie's been a favorite of mine since I was a little kid. This song could cheer up the most hard hearted of souls. Well, it makes me happy when I hear it:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5tUsocjSbD0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5tUsocjSbD0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Stevie Wonder - "Take Up A Course In Happiness" (1971)

Here's one of the last songs Roy Orbison recorded before he died in 1988. The song appears on his 1989 album, "Mystery Girl." George Harrison played guitar on this track:

Here's a song I'm sure no one has heard in a looooong time. Some of you may have never heard this one, period. It's by a band called Cat Mother & The All Night Newsboys and the song was produced by none other than Jimi Hendrix! From 1969, here's Cat Mother & The All Night Newsboys with "Old Time Rock 'N' Roll":

Damn Frank,i do remember that.Shows how old i am.;)

Never could move my head the way people do to this song :p

I removed it because it wasn't playing properly, Bugman. But since you replied to it, I'll try posting it again. I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers that song!

I Sure Got The Blues For Ya, Baby!

Muddy Waters and James Cotton (1966)

Damn! I love the Blues! That reminds me! One of my favorite British Blues bands was and is John Mayall And The Bluesbreakers. The band featured many different members throughout the years but this particular lineup really rocked or BLUED, as the case may be. This lineup featured Eric Clapton on lead guitar and future Fleetwood Mac'er John McVie on bass:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UMDizEAEu5c&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UMDizEAEu5c&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers - "All Your Love" (1966)

And after Eric Clapton left The Bluesbreakers (he had previously played guitar for The Yardbirds), he teamed up with another Bluesbreaker alumnus named Jack Bruce (bass) and with Ginger Baker on drums, they formed Cream. Here's a bluesy song from Cream's album "Disraeli Gears":
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iZaCqN355SA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iZaCqN355SA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I've gotta thank Brianspencer for thinking up this thread. Thanks to him, I have just been reunited with a song that I haven't heard in 29 years! I was looking for songs to post for this thread when I just happened to find this. I first heard it in 1979 (my Junior year in high school), then it disappeared from sight (and my ears) for 29 years, and now, we're reunited and it feels so good! Here's Wet Willie with "Weekend":

Manorisims is one of my favorite cds.:D I could not find a clip of Street Corner Serenade.

Here is a clip of the late Roy Buchanan, and underrated blues artist in my opinion.I saw him perform in Houston in the early 1980's.
