Post your favorite songs here, Audio or visual clip, lets share musical commonality

My first concert was seeing a group called The Chicago Transit Authority. Ever since then I've loved the big band sound. Plus they toured with the Beach Boys.

Don't get me started on Chicago! I'm liable to post twenty videos in a row, that's how much I love 'em! I saw them in concert back around 1998 or so. They were fantastic, but I can't remember who opened for them.

I wish I had seen more Blues players perform. I did see a lot of Rock performers play, though. Robin Trower back in 1986, for example. This is one of my favorite Trower tracks:

Christmas in July.

It's a little early for this song what with it being July 4th, but Stevie Wonder's "One Little Christmas Tree" from 1967 brings back many wonderful memories for me, so I'm gonna post it anyway. This was on his album "Someday At Christmas":
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VDWkqD1JP5w&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VDWkqD1JP5w&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Archie Bell & The Drells - "Tighten Up" (1968)

Having grown up on Country music I was always partial to this song. Being called an old geezer last night, this video is perfect for my mood this morning.

My Maria

Not a huge countryfan, but Billy Joe kicks massive amounts of ass.

From "The Wall", live in Berlin 1990.
Probably the greatest music-DVD I have ever seen. Goosebumps from start to finish. And this song is... well.
And with Van the Man, Rick Danko, Levon Helm on stage with you, among others, how can it go wrong?

God, it's great!

Slow Jams

You know what I REALLY love... those great '70s Slow Jams. The kind of songs that put you in the mood for romance and really turn up the heat between you and your lover. The following songs are among my favorites:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QbzkwLWK-Ps&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QbzkwLWK-Ps&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Lenny Williams - "'Cause I Love You" (1978)
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/T1uv-w5quH4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/T1uv-w5quH4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The Isley Brothers - "Voyage To Atlantis" (1977)

Marvin Gaye - "Distant Lover" (1973)

I'd add more but I've gotta let others get in on the fun.

This is really great!! I love all your choices. Music can truly bridge cultural gaps I dont care if its country or Hip Hop or Rock. Its nice that we can all share in our collective experience with out saying which is better and who we dont like or making unfair comparisons. Thanks a lot guys and keep it coming if you want too. Tomskee your choices are wonderful. I want to give a special mention to Bugman and Feathefingers for the nice heads up and for REALLY keeping this thing going so well.

Everyone has posted some great music here, Brian! And I agree with you about music bridging cultural gaps. If there's anything about myself that I'm most proud of it's my ability to love music regardless of the genre. I listen to what I like, and that covers a lot of ground! I don't care if it's hip or not. If I want to listen to Barry Manilow, damn it, I'm gonna listen to Barry Manilow! But first, I want to go find myself a copy of that Willie Hutch song Tomskee posted. That's the jam! (I had never heard it before today, too).
