Amnesiac's NEST PHOTOS (Finally)

I have an idea, too: Make it easy. No photography at NEST.

Because of the stink you're throwing up, it's going to end up being like that.

There were more people then Amn taking pictures. They asked others if it was alright, got the consent and snapped the shot. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't know if you're just seeking notoriety because you're a "photographer" and feel Amn is stepping around in territory that you desire, but it's really not as big as you're making it out to be.

He's shot at NHLee and other places as well. He IS the Man with the camera, it's just how it happened. He does a good job with what he does and that's that.

And those who attend NEST are completely aware of what is going on as far as the cameras. We're all grown adults and have a decent ability to utilize our vocabulary. Thus meaning, asking permission.

You really need to relax and stop taking this whole thing so literally. It started out as a mis-wording and has blown up into questioning NEST's ability for privacy rights. It's going to get to the point where we're all going to have to ask permission to take a shit if you keep going on about something that didn't even need to be explained.

Amen.

Mistress Crystal, May i please take a shit?? :roflmao: <33333

Geez, I thought this thread would've calmed down by now. Oh well.....:roseglasses: :lion:

I just jumped in to thank Team Jomonda for the pics; it looked like a lot of fun.

Who grants this clearance? What is the basis of the selection? Guests of NEST have to fill out pretty specific information and hand it in. In return, those who go to NEST might also want to know how and who is making the decisions reguarding their privacy and image rights.
Who grants clearance? The same folks who make all the other decisions regarding NEST: the NEST Team. Considering how well they've run the gathering for as long as they have, I'm inclined to trust their judgment, even as one who refused to be photographed. NEST isn't a free-for-all with the rules decided by the attendees alone; such would invite chaos. There is a small team that has proven itself year after year to be capable and competent to make these sorts of decisions.

That sentence just looks so questionable. Again, with the rules in place that I've seen/read, how can that even happen? "People didn't always have a say." ? Doesn't that seem like a grevious breach of security? That's the sentence the prosecuter will hang ya with.

It's not a public street. It's not about getting permission after the picture was taken - it's being taken it in a private, non-mainstream function without the pre-consent of the participants there. TTD had a behind-the-scenes issue a few years ago at NEST that he dealt with, properly, behind the scenes (although I don't think he's been back since because of the issue) - yet, openly, there's photo snappin' going in a compromising & intimate situation without written or verbal permission of the attendees?

I have an idea, too: Make it easy. No photography at NEST.
Permission was granted. All NEST attendees are *required* to read, agree to, and sign a form describing, among many other things, the photography policy at NEST. It details that there will be a videographer and photographer recording the event and that they may opt in to be photographed. By opting in, they consent to be photographed or recorded, knowing that said media will not be shared outside of NEST attendees. It's not some mysterious, surreptitious recording: it's a fully explained and open process that, again, all must opt in to or remain out of in WRITING. The whole point behind getting such informed consent when you register and check in is to be certain members are aware of such things. If you opt out then you needn't worry; your face will not be seen.

I took pictures of geese walking by my apt yesterday. Am i obliged to share them with the entire forum?

Christ, Oddjob, I understand what you're getting at, but the whole point of my suggestion is that somebody dedicated to the cause can preserve a tangible record of what happened for future members.

When I said "valuable" in reference to the Bettie Page and NEST pics, I wasn't referring to MONEY; I was referring to historical significance. Nobody back then thought that Bettie Page would become the most important fetish icon of all time; nobody knew that BDSM would ever amount to anything; nobody back then would imagine that gatherings like ours could be held and actually be socially significant....today we know better, but now it's too late to salvage what was lost 50 years ago. With NEST I FELT we had a chance at recording the community's baby steps for the future. Tickling fetishism might be HUGE in the future, and the people who belong to it then might want to know more about their predecessors.

I'm not doing this for money, I'm doing this for US and for everyone one of us yet to be. So that when people like Crystal are old and gray and attending NEST as a guest of honor, the young attendees listening to her stories and memories will have visual references for them. Also, what about the stuff that people forgot about? NEST isn't paying me and I wouldn't accept any money if they tried.

I know that there's a slight "privacy paradox" with my stuff, but you have to understand that by the time these photos are used for my intended purposes, most of the people in them will be old or dead, when they can't be hurt by whatever might happen (which is unlikely to happen at all if the future turns out to be sympathetic to us) from revealing them.

I'm not accusing you of not understanding Oddjob...I'm just suggesting that your anger might be incommensurate to the controversy of this issue.

And why is it still an issue? I mean, we explained that the first thread was a botched accident, that NEST team exercised authority that it rightfully has, that no one's privacy has been violated, and that I have not, am not, and WILL NOT play any part in any divisive attitudes between NESTees and non-NESTees or TMFers as a whole.

I'm just confused as to why everyone is still so mad over something that has been exhaustively explained and repaired. Is it because it happened at ALL that provokes some kind of undying righteous outrage?

Oooh, I'd also like to add that my plans don't exclude other people's photos from contributing to the final product! I envision the day when we'll have a NEST archive full of photos and memorabilia taken from everybody over the years so that as complete a record as possible exists.

That means even Oddjob's pictures can be part of the NEST archive, if it were to exist and he were to donate them. It's not as if there's a competition to see who's the best shutterbug or who can make a whole documentary for VH1 (which was an example BTW so you have a reference...I don't actually plan to make a documentary for VH1 or any other commercial enterprise), it's about everybody in the community building a giant photo album for future NESTers to enjoy.

Ooooh, and I also wanna add that I wasn't wielding my camera with impugnity; I was watching out for people and was asked by some not to take pictures at all...and I complied. I probably should have said that the people who "didn't have a say in being in my pictures" were either there on accident or they were comprised of people who were already okay to photograph, but did not see me aiming the camera in their direction. I shot almost 400 pictures at NEST and only 74 of them are posted in the "safe place", so there's quite a bit of privacy well in place.

Only if they give permission...

Some are new borns, so hopefully i wont get flak for underage content!

Also how is this TK related? Feathers, that is my answer to that.

Thank God you posted this! Ya see, I had been wondering what it would be like to visit Chicago/DeKalb/Granite City, Illinois, and now that you've posted this photo, I know exactly what to expect if and when I decide to venture out there. You don't know how much you've eased my anxieties with this photo. :hmm:

...

I just wanted to beat off to the Geese.

EDIT: The adult Geese, don't worry folks!

Uhm...why do you bring up a part of discussion that was long forgotten? 🙂 Also a way to keep this going. 🙂

I understand.

Don't question authority.

Some folks who clear the NEST screening form are more equal than others.

Professional models with signed releases are legally the same as private individuals in an intimate venue and therefore photography will occur whether they consented to their image being captured or not.

And of course the best -

Wait until a problem occurs rather than plan to prevent.

"Let's keep stuff about NEST fun and leave the legal matters and jargon when the proverbial "shit hits the fan". 😛"

I'm down with it!

As NEST grows over the years, with newer people and a more diverse cross-section of people become involved, I think things will get more and more interesting.

Right! Except...oh wait...not at all 🙄

See if you can follow this.

1.) Each individual was asked if they wanted to be photographed by the official NEST photographer (read: Amn)

2.) Each individual answered either yes or no.

3a.) (this is where it may get tricky) Those individuals who answered "No" were given a specific color wristband, so as to inform Amnesiac that they did not want to be photographed.
3b.) Those individuals who answered "Yes" were also given a *different* color wristband, so as to inform Amnesiac that they were a-okay with their photos being taken. These individuals also SIGNED A MODEL RELEASE FORM STATING THAT THEY HAD CONSENTED TO HAVING THEIR PICTURES TAKEN BY THE OFFICIAL NEST PHOTOGRAPHER TO DO WITH WHAT HE SEES FIT.

4.) Amnesiac took candid photos (that is, people were not posed. They were behaving and interacting naturally. This is where the "without their consent" part comes into play. He didn't ask the group to stop what they were doing and say, "Do you mind if I take a picture now to capture the moment that I just ruined by telling you all I'm about to take a picture?")

5.) Upon returning home, Amn looked at all the photos, blacked out the faces of anyone he may have captured by accident (in the background, walking past a photo, in the corner, whatever) who did not have on the magical wristband allowing him to take their picture.

6.) As dictated by the NEST team, Amn does not share the photos he has taken with anyone but NESTees.

7.) NESTees are also under obligation to keep said photos confidential, unless permission by all those in the photo is given to make it public (i.e. my signature pic with Euphoricy, and the pictures Amanda posted of her and Jo).

So, as you (hopefully) see, every effort is made to ensure that no images are captured without consent.

However, I'm sure that your legal concern is appreciated. :hmm:

You seem to continue to misunderstand that everyone understands and either consents to be photographed by Amnesiac or refuses. And even after he took pictures I understood that nobody that wishes to remain anonymous would have pictures of themselves appear on the forum or anywhere else public. I allowed Amnesiac to photograph me at NEST and NHLee as well. But he knows damn well that I do not want pictures of me on the forum. And in the past year I have never seen one single gathering picture of me end up on the forum.

Others refuse to be photographed or taped altogether and Ive never seen an issue. I just fail to understand what these huge future legal problems will be among people that are agreeing to or refusing written terms that are then being upheld.

HA, just wait till the corn starts growing

but as my picture joke stated. Just because pictures are taken, does not mean others have the "RIGHT" to see them. Would I had enjoyed to see what went on? Sure, ive seen glimpses from the past several years thanks to some making videos and selling and the various photos given out too. But Im also a rational person who knows that billions of people take pix world wide, does not mean i am entitled to see them, unless they chose to share them. Just like the social sites, they determine what they want to share and what not to share.

Now back to my geese porn.

As NEST grows over the years, with newer people and a more diverse cross-section of people become involved, I think things will get more and more interesting.

Or we can just keep doing what we've been doing for as long as NEST as been going on and stop assuming this to be some legal fiasco.

It's sweet that you think of us as Professional Models, but that's not what we are. kthx. 🙂

In our third pic; we so knocked over a can of Diet Coke. :gonao:

Not we! U! :slapfight:

^ Thanks for sharing the nice pics. I really appreciate seeing these, after all it is what the title of the thread is all about.

-o0o-

Now I no longer feel 'Pic-Rolled'. Yeah, I could be as shallow as that, but just because there is a hoopla behind. I'm done now.

So glad you liked! And glad you weren't pic-rolled! 😀
