We have read a few dusty tomes on said subject but must admit to a lack of general knowledge on the era.Recommendations for good reads would not be frowned upon.🙂

I must admit that I haven't read too many books either, but there's this trilogy written by a Swedish author who has really read up on everyday life and the society back then. The books are pretty good, and you learn a lot about historical figures such as Saladin in them. They have been translated into English too since they were quite a big hit. If it interests you I could PM you the details. 😀
