Countdown to Daytona

OK, now for all intents and purposes, its go 20, go 20 go 20 :xpeepsofa

Isabeau, you want to keep an eye on Mark, he is going for his third straight win in the truck series, yep, he wont the first two.

The pole is the 16 Biffle and on the outside front the 20 Stewart

The Big Brown truck starts at 15 and Marks 6 car is starting #18.

Side note for LK70-doesn't look like Shelmerdine got the entry fee or something, it doesn't show him not able to qualify or not in the race.

yes i do believe this will be the year for Mark. at least i hope so. it would be great if in his last year of racing he would win the nextel championship.

Be careful Pokey. The Queen is in the air above us and watching our every move. Don't ask how I know, I just know. :shake: :shake: :shake:

I think she said that she would be traveling back on Sunday during the Cup race, but I can easily be wrong. I kind of think she is taping it and going to watch when she gets home. Just in case, I think I will not mention the outcome. :wiseowl: :xpeepsofa

Todays race is either at 4 PM and is on FOX. It looks like it will still be unusually cold in Vegas today, was for yesterday's Busch race.

10:20 am in California and I'll be getting on the shuttle to the airport shortly. 1pm flight will get me to Newark around 9 tonight.

Enjoy the race. I think they should broadcast them on the plane. (pout) ESPN is showing Midget racing now, so at least I get some fix.

I've missed you guys!

Miss you too, kid. I feel sorry for Pokey because he has no one to talk to during the race. He's probably bouncing off the walls waiting for his lk70 fix. :jester: :jester: :jester:

whooooooooohooooooooooo jimmy johnson won.... i like him...

and mark is in the top ten!! kenseth finished second. mark sixth

While I'd love to see Jr. take it... I'm betting Stewart will take the checkered.

I'm going to Daytona next year-2007. We went 4 years ago when we lost Dale. It will be bitter sweet to be back there. It's still hard being a spectator after working the car and morotcycle races for 35 years but it's an amazing adventure. And besides - at least at that race I don't have to work so hard. All I have to do is get there.

Jan

I'm waiting for lk to sober up and give her impression of the race. :twohugs:

Hello, Jan, nice to see you on here.

I thought the race was ok yesterday, but it seemed kind of vanilla. The finish was interesting for sure. I have to give cudos to the 48 team for finishing 1-2-1 in 3 of the 4 races without the Queen's favorite crew chief, Knaus. He still has one more race to sit out, but if I owned the car, I'm not sure I wouldn't pay him to stay on vacation until the current streak stops.

Steward did himself in by messing around with the 5 car with Kyle Busch. Might have been good reason or not but cost the 20 a lot of spots at the finish.

um Pokey?? that ending kicked major ass. very exciting... not vanilla to me at all.

Uh oh, the Duchess has pounded on my head. Still thought the race was a not as exciting as some until the end. But we don't have to wait 2 weeks for the next one. :couch:

Can't wait for the Bristol race, probably one of my most favorites. No huge pile ups but lots of great driver racing and nudging each other aside, really fun to watch. Ok to poind on me, when you hit my head you hit the hard place on my body that normally can't hurt me.......lol

Ok, tivo has caught me up to the rest of you. I was thinking the same thing as you, Pokey, that HMS might do well to keep Knaus off that tall stool for a few more races. It would go a long way towards turning the dislike of JJ around that's for sure. You know that the interim crew chief is a former mechanic for a volvo dealership? Sent his resume to Petty Enterprises, got a job and now has been with HMS for three years. And he's sitting in the crew chief stool. How cool is that?

The 20 car wasn't handling well for Tony most of the day- I can't say I can blame the whole race on the BS with Busch.

The ending rivaled Atlanta last year for excitement. Of course, IMHO, Atlanta ended MUCH better!

I need more beer.

Glad to have you back safe and sound, dearest Queenie. :Kiss2:

Speaking of Atlanta last year, they go to Atlanta this week. Will JJ make it another 1 or 2 finish with Knaus still on the block? Or, is this the week of the Dogdge maybe?
