Well crazy busy week at work here (only left work 1 day at my normal time this week out of 5). And now a busy weekend.

It is mostly yes. But sometimes I want to be lazy and stay home more.

Yeah I'll be in the city Sunday to see the tree and do some Christmas stuff.
Next weekend I plan to be more laid-back fortunately. I've got to wrap some gifts eventually too. Just piling boxes right now.

I will buy all Hanukkah presents online so I won't wrap or ship anything myself.

Nice. I don't mind doing it. I guess it's just part of tradition. But the key for me is to start 2 weeks before Christmas and wrap a few items each day. Waiting till 3 days before and trying to wrap 3 hours a day gets ridiculous lol.

Like many other tasks, it is best not to procrastinate and leave things until time is short.

Well I've got all these boxes here and more on the way. I have to open them and sort through everything which will be enough work not even thinking of wrapping them.

It is always a good feeling to go to the post office on a Monday and send off all of the stuff you prepared over the weekend. 😀

I'm glad I don't work in the post office though. It can be hectic this time of year I am sure.

I worked in the post office in a small town in New Jersey as a summer job in 1969. It was not hectic in the summer time; I was filling in for clerks who were taking their two-week vacations one after the other.

That doesn't sound like a bad summer job. My worst one was digging a ditch in this guy's backyard lol.

The summer is not a good time for an outdoor job that involves strenuous activity. Glad that I never dug ditches.

Did you see any snow flurries on Wednesday Mils? We had some here.

Yes, I saw snow flurries about 2pm coming home from lunch on Wednesday, but nothing was sticking to the sidewalks.

It was just flurries and we had some Thursday too. I just wonder if that's a tiny sign of what's to come. Do you remember Christmas Day 2002? Well around my area at least we had a foot of snow on Christmas Day.

Yes, I remember that blizzard. We got about 18 or 20 inches here.

The December 2002 duplicate bridge tournament in NYC (an ACBL Regional tournament) started on December 26th. It took me half an hour to walk a half block on my unplowed street to Central Park West, which had been plowed, and then I was able to walk to the NY Hilton, where the tournament was held, on major streets that had been plowed. My bridge partner made it there, too, so we played, but attendance was about 25% of usual.

That was some storm. I wonder if we'll get any storm like that this winter. Oy...it's going to warm up this weekend at least but pouring rain Sunday.

Yes. I'll take the heavy rain. I am staying mostly local this weekend anyway.
