I saw that...they changed that because originally they were saying next week would be cold too. Hopefully the 50+ holds next week!

I'm with you. I really do not like the cold temps.

Just back from the ophthalmologist. All is well, see him in one year.

Oh glad to hear it. It was snowing pretty steadily when I went running...even sticking a bit on the roads. But it's already supposed to clear up...now we wait the wind and colder temps.

I always say the weather is mostly decent from St. Patrick's till Thanksgiving. And it really went that way this year.

It felt like mid-winter this week Mils. Terrible. But the warm-up is coming.

Thankfully but now we have rain coming this week but I guess we do need it!

Juan Soto a New York Met...ugh for the Yankees but they offered 760? And he took 765? If that is true I do not blame the Yankees. Soto just wanted every penny which is his right but he obviously had no attachment to the Yankees as some said he did.

None of Soto's salary is deferred which sticks the Mets with huge salary obligations for the next 15 years. This is in contrast to Ohtani whose salary is $70 million per year for ten years, with $68 million deferred until after the ten years is expired.

Yes but I guess the Mets are the new Yankees now. We used to be the biggest spenders but not anymore. But I think the Yankees need a plan B now or else this team will be mediocre next year.

Yes, people have said that the Yankees have a plan B, but nobody has revealed what that plan actually is.

Well you know more about baseball than me so you can let me know what you think of it when they unveil it. They definitely have money to spend now since they didn't sign Soto.

A lot of major free agent signings and big trades will take place over the next two months. The Yankees plan will emerge.

Well we got a pitcher. What do you think?
I think that Max Fried will be an excellent addition to the Yankees' starting pitching rotation.

As usual these days, though, the contract is too long. By the time that the last three years of this contract arrive, Fried will be past his prime and no longer worth his salary.

I know 8 years. But I guess from what I heard his average per year is not expensive for a pitcher like him. But I'll take 5 good years and worry about the 3 after that. By then they'll be out of Cole and Stanton (some big contracts).

Yes, that is how teams think these days. Get four or five good years out of a big-name player, and worry about his declining years when they come.

I hope your week is going well. I can't believe the holidays are coming quickly it seems.

Glad to hear it! I'm exhausted but off for 4 days now which I'm thankful for!
