For a tickling forum we sure do bitch/hate a lot.

Isn't that just a little bit ironic?

I understand that thing's get heated from time to time, I do. I even enjoy watching and participating in some of those discussions because most of the time they hold a lot of solid content regardless of the bitching.

But to the velocity that they do at times I almost forget that it's a tickling forum.

And some of the whining is over some blatantly.... unique things.

Maybe it's just me.

*kicks Pandora's box open*

Perhaps it is ironic that there is so much acrimony and disagreement on a forum of people here because they love to laugh or make others laugh. But I think that's the nature of any public forum. Most people have very strong opinions to begin with and when they are able to express them from the anonymity of a computer screen, they are that much more empowered to express those opinions loudly.

people are always going to be people, even on a tickling forum. 🙂

I bitch alot because i don't get enough fiber... the end..

OK. A steady start, this is good..

But seriously.

Where's the love, eh?

There is a psychological schism on this forum. And many of the people who have posted here? They seem like fodder for the other, more multiple, yet more silent group.

It's like I was saying to someone else in a conversation....it saddens me sometimes to see us at each other. On my other board, you barely even see anything ever crop up.

We've got a lot of different people here of various lifestyles and types, and it's often hard to find common groud outside of out fetish. And even that, sometimes, has so many different aspects for different folks that we find reasons to argue over that.

Would be nice if we'd all just realize that we're here to have fun, learn and share. Yeah, dick with each other and shit...but realize that it ain't personal.

Here ya go. :Kiss2:

Oh and for good measure :3poke:

Thanks, man. :redheart:

I'm just curious is all. I don't blatantly pinpoint people to fuck with, it's more of a natural defense.

Why do people naturally just attack for no legitimate reason, though?

Hard to say exactly. Some people have very thin-skin and may perceive a comment that is innocuous to you and I as something personally offensive to them and react strongly. Some people may have problems socializing with people in a constructive manner and don't know any way other than to complain or attack. And then some people in this world are just your garden-variety jerks and creeps.

Why do people naturally just attack for no legitimate reason, though?

Insecurity. Fear and loathing of what they don't/can't understand.

Or maybe they're just assholes. This is yet another one of those questions that there's no absolute, definitive answer to... too many variables, too many perspectives. Or, to quote a most bodacious philosophizer,
"People are always going to be people, even on a tickling forum."

Elaborate please.

You are most obviously a target for wanton abuse. When someone wants to make a splash, they get short with you, or blow up on you. People don't get your attitude because they don't get the dry sarcasm. And because of that, they pounce. You are front and center...a person who gets shit talked about her no matter what, warranted or unwarranted.

What differentiates you from them is the fact that they will not stop until they have used you completely. And then, they try and toss you.

It goes in cycles here, and it is one of the weirdest social hierarchy's I have ever seen.

There is a group of people who cannot come out and face their fetish in the realm of reality. This is their guise, their protective hood. Here...they are safe. And we all hide behind our given masks. But whenever they feel threatened, or excluded...their need to protect the illusion rises.

In essence, I believe that what is going on is a bunch of users think that they are viewed as the less desirables in a high school cafeteria. They do not know where to sit. And a set group of people...the 'clique'...if you will, represent the popular table. It is a concept that people, especially in a setting such as this, can get behind.

I also believe that a lot of it comes down to the fact that people have a hard time realizing that those of us who are combustible really are not usually that upset...we are just forceful.

Amazing.

OK. I'm just trying to understand;

Is it also maybe for some folks the fact that we can hold other discussions that don't carry the topic of tickling, thus almost humanizing us in a way?

reminds me of a thread i made months back about the whining and moaning on this forum...and i got whined and moaned at. there's too many people that are dependent on this forum. i can admit i was once one of them, but i have since grown up. sad to say, some people have not.

people want to be heard. there are some that could give two shits, but others consistently demand attention, often derailing things and going off on tangents that were neither required nor asked for. what really gets a giggle from me are the people who are adamantly specific on certain details in tickling media, and they kick and scream if each detail is not met.

in all the forums i have been a part of, this one has the most emotion devoted and invested in it. some people here wouldn't bat an eyelash if all the media was yanked out of here; they come for the community (or what is left of it, especially with the NEST goers and the ones that missed out). others are here to get their fix of ten second clips, and that is where a lot of the drama begins.

all i can do is sit and watch, and throw out a bit of hope that some of the more hateful people that hang about wake the fuck up sometime soon and stop hashing on the collective mellow.

Look at the archetypes for the damsel's in the mediocre (and sometimes even acclaimed) fiction we have on the forums. We have a portion dedicated to ticklish celebrities, which is basically a hub to gather those that are interested into sending countless e-mails or whatever to random people to find out if they are ticklish. The conversation is just part of it Crystal, but you hit the nail on the head.

Anything that does not make people into resources/goods revokes some form of the fantasy. Those that post pictures become meat. And they stop seeing you as a human being. They forget that behind that keyboard is another flesh and blood organism with their own life and desires.

As Crystallight, you are hot chick in signature. As Crystallight, you are a psychological wall that people feel they must break down to prove they can silence 'the bitch'. That's why the fight can be so taxing for them. They have invested so much in fallacy that any sense of realism, any true sense of identity...it scares and places them back into the dimension where they are just punching keys behind a computer.

I also believe it is because many of us who seek something beyond masturbatory fodder can control our primal urges. As per the fantasy, control is not necessary. Escaping into the machine allows them the ability to wash away their scars, to become newborn and deviant and everything they wish they were but aren't.

It's literally like we are on two different planes of reality.

meangry, i have to say...that made more sense than most of the posts on this forum had. too often do i see people begging for this model to wear that, or be nude, or in specific pantyhose. they care not for the people involved in the photos or videos, only that the situation is hot enough for them to be aroused.

Which is frustrating due to the fact that it's not forseen as a strict place to only fantasize and desire.

I always figured that's what clips4sale was about.

Yes, this place holds elements that if one is not completely careful or just decides to be ignorant can suck you into an alter realm if you will.

But, there's also a balance which is where the discussion threads and sub-forums come into play. Opening a door for the ability to converse as not only people with a common fetish/interest/desire but as people in the stripped down common sense of the word.

And for those of us that do carry the ability to differentiate continue to get blasted for doing so.

It's bullshit.

Escaping into the machine allows them the ability to wash away their scars, to become newborn and deviant and everything they wish they were but aren't.

You mean like almost having a second life?

I've managed to meet some of the closest friends here. Perhaps why it's become a mainstay for me for the most part.

The fantasy aspect you mean? Like, color of toe-nail polish and shit?

I completely agree. The clips are nice from time to time, but in my opinion not the meat of the community. The conversation is.

I do believe that this is a part of it. When certain of us become...ok...known..."names"....whatever...that carries with it a sorta perceived persona. People see what they want to from "CrystalLight" or "Dave2112" or "Affectionate Dan" without realizing that Jo, Dave and Dan are real people who choose what to put forth, what to show.

When those names become humanized, it can be difficult for many to understand that we have many facets beyond tickling. Sometimes we have a bad day and show that emotion. Sometimes we feel goofy and jjust wanna do stupid shit....and people can misundderstand intentions. There are those of us who really put ourselves out there....Moderators, seriously contributing members like yourself, producers, artists and writers...whatever....and we wind up with a certain "image" in the minds of other people. When we break out of that and show our humanity...it can throw people.

Interesting thread and topic. I hope this winds up doing some good for all of us.

I agree completely. It is only very recently decided to approach TMF with a sense of community rather than someone who is simply out to get his jack on. And this site has those resources, but nothing is as enthralling is discussion with people. It's the pushing of your personal boundaries, your limits, and also it makes you more comfortable with who you are inherently.

We can live and revel in our sexuality on one hand, yet simultaneously enjoy the fruits of community amongst kin. And I think for many, their ability to really contribute is blighted because they are individualists who only care about one thing.

You mean like almost having a second life?

Yes. TMF is the sexual side, the one that is the holder's mental image. They are the lean everyman adonis or goddess. They revel in their often latent desire because here, they have no form or shape.

We dictate our shape...or our tone. We do not accept merely because we believe we must. That isn't to say that we restrict people from community: we do not. But community extends beyond just a loving conclave of individuals. We fight, we war, we cry, we react and try to make sense of this and of everything through our community. Drama will always be there, and drama is a wonderful tool at times...when it is necessary. Those who cannot stand up under their own power, or need the constant support of others to make their life complete...they need not apply, for they are leeches.

It may seem weird, but at the same time, I think it is completely natural.

I completely agree. It's the common interest that gets us in the same place...but it's what comes after that keeps us here. The clips and images could be taken away tomorrow and I'd still be a part of this.

Ok, let's take Ray and I. We're friends on a very deep level. Met because of tickling....but have continued regardless of it being a part of conversation. we talk on the phone, exhange PM's occasionally meet up....and it's more often than not....without tickling even coming up. It's because we've gotten to know each other and realized we have much to share outside of it.

There are a lot of people like that for me here. When the talk or interaction is about tickling or any shared fetish, it is very very good. We can't lose sight of that, either. We came here for a reason, and to find others to share in that is important and great.

I guess you just have to take things as a whole and not become short-sighted in what the term and concept "community" is really about. I think people can have the misconception that if you spend a lot of time here, you must be obsessed with your fetish....but in fact, we spend a lot of time here because of the PEOPLE....and ALL of the things that make those people important to us.

I liken it to say....a VFW. Ok, all the people there have service in the military in common...what brought them there. But, they'll go and drink and talk about football, politics, thier families....it's not a 24/7 conversation about war or something. But if that topic DOES come up...you KNOW you're in a place where EVERYONE else gets what you're saying, because it's not just you.

The TMF is like that. It's a central meeting place for a lot of us. A place where we found each other for one reason, but continue for all the others. And people need to start realizing that all of us are complete individuals and accept each others strengths, flaws, problems, successes and even our faults.

Lawn work awaits my time, so I`ll get right to the point. Crystal, read over again the entire thread in Tickling Discussion started by Iris and tell us in all honesty that you were not the main reason that thread turned into yet another online pissing match. First off, you got overly defensive about the dreaded word "clique." You then backed one of the posters into a corner and twisted some of her words until she blew a gasket and then she and others came out swinging. I find you to be a very intellegent young lady, so you should know better than to be so confrontational. Simply know when to back off a little, and not be declared the winner of every disagreement that goes on in this forum. You`re smarter that that. :smilestar

Just like The Matrix, a perfect society would be catastrophic. A complete failure. Man needs some form of strife, angst, some form of aggression. I think it stems from a deep seeded sense of competition. It is the nature of man. Oh, and woman!
