For a tickling forum we sure do bitch/hate a lot.

Well, there's the problem. One end thinks things such as (in my view) pointless youtube garbage is... pointless, and on the other end, people think it's doing good.

So, the two halves split, and hence, problems when a person from the other side so to speak crosses over.

I can agree with this point, but at the same time, I kind of view the forum to have a Catch-22 situation where a lot of that stuff historically has just been allowed to happen. It's just part of TMF culture, in many ways. Not that I do not think post subject management is important, because it is. A lot of times, I veer towards the more serious threads to bounce things out there, or just be a smart ass. When it comes to joke forum stuff though...I am more at ease in just doing the first random thing that comes to mind.

lol i agree..its common sense.

in my opinion alot of you people need to spend a little less time in the general discussion..you know tmf has like..other threads right? Maybe that'll help with all the "bitching" and annoying shit that happens in this section

lately (from what i've seen) the general discussion has become the "how many pointless topics can i make up and get away with?" section..maybe people are just so annoyed by it all and that's why they're bitching. And for those that are bitching..just do what i do and just never come into this section.

Compared to the lack of movement on a community hub like TickleTheater, this pace demands more from an active user than anything. That forum might have a very supportive art community (and it is the best place for feedback, I think), but the general discussion threads and the like are stagnated to the point where activity in TT is very hard unless you are constantly producing material or just posting random commentary on various different things.

I like the TMF approach to community much better than TT, based solely on the fact that I know I am amongst people who are willing to examine their fetish, but are more willing to examine their human consistency and their body politic. While this place is not necessarily my college campus, having someone like Mairead around comforts me because I know I have another english 'fag' around here. Or Crystal, who likes to stir debate and make topics worthy of exploration.

We might attempt to chop our hands off at times, but that goes with strong personalities...and to be truthful, my issues with this community aren't those 'popular' people. It's with the bitter and disgruntled members who feel this need to prove that they are worthy of acceptance when they themselves usually revoke it.

Hey amigos,

I don't spend a ton of time in this part of the forum for precisely the reason that CL started this thread. Discussions get internet people reeeeeeally freaked out. So perhaps going out of our way to prove every little point, we can all just agree that there are a lot of different opinions, feelings, attitudes, and likes/dislikes here - and that that is kinda cool.

There is a ton of hostility on this forum... this planet... the known universe O.O!

Why? That's a BIG freakin' question. A big metaphysical question into the fundamental nature of man, and trolls, and sandwich cookies, and all manner of weird things.

So I just wanted to say... maybe we should all be more existential and less metaphysical. Maybe we should just all take a deep breath and move on when the bitching starts.

If there's too much bitching, maybe we should go out of our own way as much as we can to not bitch. Leave bitching to the trolls. And when the trolls show up... maybe the rest of us take a walk. Let the trolls go back to humping the ground, or biting rocks or whatever they do when they don't have people to pester.

I'm gonna go back to my bandito hideout in the art forum and do some goofy tickle comics now and think of laughter, and pleasure, and love, and eroticism.

So with that - I'll talk with y'all later.

And BTW - I love you guys. You heard me. That just happened.

I don't know who most of you are.

But I love ya.

Who wants to make out?

The Deeto

PS - Crystal Light has cool hair. She'd make great reference for a comic character.

As a major supporter of you work, and material (and that extends to work of yours that isn't always of a tickling slant), it's good to see you clicking around here. And as one of these mentioned trolls, or at least in concept (to be truthful, I have not had much mail telling me to stop my actions), I like rocks because they are high on flavor.

Get done with TiS so I can post my special present to you for it.

Great post. I agree.

And in some folks' inability to do so, they in turn slight themselves by lashing out haphazardly at others who are more comfortable to just talk about 'taboo' things.

Did you just start this whole thread so you can feel better about yourself?

Feel better about myself how?

This thread came about for discussional purposes. It has drawn in some rather interesting and unique responses/opinions and such forth. Clearly I wasn't the only one who wanted to voice about this.

It just kinda looks to me like you started this so you could go,

"Thank god, nobody thinks I'm a bitch. I'm sooo glad that they agree that people who don't post often need attitude changes."

I could be wrong.

This whole thread hasn't really served much of a purpose.

So, what? We all agree that those who don't post much need attitude changes? Those who don't feel like they are fitting in bring with them a wave of bitchiness that is doing all the regulars heads in here?

Cool! That's really going to motivate lurkers and new forumers to speak up at the TMF...🙄

Regardless of the intent of the OP, if one were to read through all 100+ posts in this thread now, there is a lot of great psychological insight going on here, as well as some self-reflection on how we choose to handle ourselves in this community compared to the real world.

Is this thread, going to necessarily motivate lurkers and newbies to post. Maybe not. If I was a newbie I know I'd be overwhelmed by a thread with this much acrimony, dealing with a sensitive subject. But, you're overgeneralizing that the whole thread has no value. It sparked intelligent debate and many differing opinions. Isn't that kinda the point of Gen Disc.

I'm not denying that it has sparked some intelligent debate, Baldadonis. I just feel like this thread may be comfort for us, and discomfort for newbies. That's all.

You're welcome to your opinion.

I don't believe that was really a direct point made.

I think I mentioned before a couple posts back that it's alright not to have a specific direction to go in all the time. It was a debate topic and many piped, which was the point of the thread.

Cool! That's really going to motivate lurkers and new forumers to speak up at the TMF...🙄

Honestly, I don't think the blatant sarcasm would make anyone feel very comfortable about posting.

Can't disagree with you on that point. Not everything is of value to everybody.

Point is subjective anyways.

If one person responds or thinks, then this thread did the job.

I just find it hilarious that there are so many who took this thread and attempted to turn it into shit slinging.

I was going to say, there has been a lot of posting with subtle and not-so-subtle offensive remarks made towards Crystal in this thread.

I think she pretty much expected to get a bit of flamage when she created it, but she did so anyway in hopes of a greater discussion other than people insulting her or congratulating her. Neither of these things adds to the topic.

I suppose the really tasteless thing to do right now would be to congratulate you for pointing this out, wouldn't it? :jester:

Lots has been said in this thread about why the "flame free" rule has taken a hammering lately, and all various reasons have been covered.

This one best sums it up for me .........................

After reading a few more posts, I have a bit more to add.

6. Everyone is different. There are people here of different generations, cultures, countries, backgrounds, colors, and upbringing. Humor and tone is sometimes hard to read and many people take offense to things not meant to be offensive. And so many people on here find it easier to argue than back down and apologize for misunderstandings or even when they are actually wrong. It's going to happen in a place like this.

However ......................... when reading through many of the offending threads, I find myself after a while, not looking at the why any more because the differing opinions are quite often obvious.
What amazes me the most is the ability of some people to fly completely off the fucking handle at some perceived slight against them and launch into an offensive against another member, making up there justifications as they go along. Most of the time I stay out of it because I'm too bewildered to make a comment, or not willing to waste my time. But really, enough is enough.
Have a spirited debate, sure, but there are those who seem bent on turning it nasty.
And that debacle about the ACF!!!!
My god people!!!
It was intended as a joke. The forum was down for a few hours at the most.
The world did not end, and appologies were made for any inconvienience.
But there were those who proved they were quite incapable of getting over it, and at one stage almost formed a lynch mob.
Some people on this forum need to grow some serious skin, because the stuff they've got now has gotten waaaaay to thin.
Oh, and build some god damn bridges while your at it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew ................... now I've got that off my chest. Congrats to ALL those who contribute meaningfully to the forums. I for one greatly appreciate it. :bouncybou:bouncybou

I may click around more often. It all depends on time and cookies. If I have time, and if someone offers me cookies. ;P

Are you really one of the trolls? Somehow I doubt it. My experience with your support and feedback has been anything but troll like. You are consistent, honest, and still very respectful. But that is only MY experience. A hump-biter you are not. Hump biters are a rare thing.

And yeah - rocks are yummy.

And... O.O! I get presents???

YAY!

TIS will finally all be posted as soon as my colorist gets the rest of it done ^^ Hopefully soon.

And I just wanted to add one more thought to this thread...

This is a thread about excessive bitching.

If you came to this thread about excessive bitching only to bitch...

Then others shall feel compelled to bitch that you came to bitch on this thread about excessive bitching.

Anyone else see the pattern developing? We all need to chikity-check ourselves before we wreck ourselves.

So my little bandito idea is that we should all just spoon, give each other a little tickle, and make nice. Can't we all just get along?

There you gooooooo...

Give in to the loooooove....

LMAO.

Or else Bitch slaps shall be dealt.

Just kidding. I'm a lover not a fighter.

Okay - I'm really leaving now.

*KapWING*

(That was the superhero-like sound of bandito grabbing his cape and flying away back to his little art forum) lol.

Oh - and thanks Dan and Venray. You are both awesome. I wish I could fit you both into a beautiful ticklish woman. And I meant that in a metaphoric sense. >< oooooh... I think I should quit while I'm ahead.

<.<

Spot on. Thank you. I was tempted to post another Hanson video, but then I'd not only be killing a thread but a million souls everywhere.

Goodness, I completely forgot about my signature, and it kind of applies in some instances! 😀

Seriously, some people who do not react aggressively in the real world tend to "let it out" on the internet as a kind of passive-aggressive means of coping with stress. Anonymous arguing permits one to blow up without any real-world repercussions--usually! Recently, I've been hearing on the news about some people being held accountable for contributing to the suicide of some girl for saying hateful things about her over a certain popular social network.

On a positive note, one could look at it that we feel comfortable enough around each other to bitch and moan and get at each other like old friends or family. :idunno:

My two cents

People take ALL of this shit WAY to fucking seriously. That about covers it.
